In regions of western North America with snow‐dominated hydrology, the presence of forested watersheds can significantly influence streamflow compared to areas with other vegetation cover types. Widespread tree death in these watersheds can thus dramatically alter many ecohydrologic processes including transpiration, canopy solar transmission and snow interception, subcanopy wind regimes, soil infiltration, forest energy storage and snow surface albedo. One of the more important causes of conifer tree death is bark beetle infestation, which in some instances will kill nearly all of the canopy trees within forest stands. Since 1996, an ongoing outbreak of bark beetles (Coleoptera: Scolytidae) has caused widespread mortality across more than 600,000 km2 of coniferous forests in western North America, including numerous Rocky Mountain headwaters catchments with high rates of lodgepole pine (Pinus contorta) mortality from mountain pin beetle (Dendroctonous ponderosae) infestations. Few empirical studies have documented the effects of MPB infestations on hydrologic processes, and little is known about the direction and magnitude of changes in water yield and timing of runoff due to insect‐induced tree death. Here, we review and synthesize existing research and provide new results quantifying the effects of beetle infestations on canopy structure, snow interception and transmission to create a conceptual model of the hydrologic effects of MPB‐induced lodgepole pine death during different stages of mortality. We identify the primary hydrologic processes operating in living forest stands, stands in multiple stages of death and long‐dead stands undergoing regeneration and estimate the direction of change in new water yield. The ultrahigh‐pressure (UHP) eclogite in the Dabie orogen preserves petrological evidence for the existence of hydrous silicate melts that formed during continental subduction‐zone metamorphism. This is indicated by occurrence of multiphase solid (MS) inclusions in garnet that primarily consist of K‐feldspar + quartz ± epidote/allanite. All the MS inclusions are euhedral to subhedral in morphology and surrounded with radial cracks in the host garnet. Their trace element compositions were analysed by two different approaches of laser sampling. The mass budget method was used to estimate the trace element abundances of MS inclusions from their mixtures with the host garnet. The results are compared with the direct sampling of MS inclusions, providing a first‐order approximation to the trace element composition of MS inclusions. The MS inclusions exhibit consistent enrichment of LILE, Sr and Pb, but depletion of HFSE in the primitive mantle‐normalized spidergram. Such arc‐like patterns of trace element distribution are common for continental crustal rocks. The melts have variably high K, Rb and Sr abundances, suggesting that breakdown of phengite is a basic cause for partial melting of the UHP eclogite. These MS inclusions also exhibit consistently low HFSE and Y contents, suggesting partial melting of the eclogite in the stability fields of rutile and garnet. Consequently, the trace element composition of MS inclusions provides a proxy for that of hydrous silicate melts derived from dehydration melting of the UHP eclogite during continental collision.  相似文献

Mineral and melt inclusions in olivines from the most Mg-richmagma from the southern West Sulawesi Volcanic Province indicatethat two distinct melts contributed to its petrogenesis. Thecontribution that dominates the whole-rock composition comesfrom a liquid with high CaO (up to 16 wt %) and low Al2O3 contents(CaO/Al2O3 up to 1), in equilibrium with spinel, olivine (Fo85–91;CaO 0·35–0·5 wt %; NiO 0·2–0·30wt %) and clinopyroxene. The other component is richer in SiO2(>50 wt %) and Al2O3 (19–21 wt %), but contains significantlyless CaO (<4 wt %); it is in equilibrium with Cr-rich spinelwith a low TiO2 content, olivine with low CaO and high NiO content(Fo90–94; CaO 0·05–0·20 wt %; NiO0·35–0·5 wt %), and orthopyroxene. Boththe high- and low-CaO melts are potassium-rich (>3 wt % K2O).The high-CaO melt has a normalized trace element pattern thatis typical for subduction-related volcanic rocks, with negativeTa–Nb and Ti anomalies, positive K, Pb and Sr anomalies,and a relatively flat heavy rare earth element (HREE) pattern.The low-CaO melt shows Y and HREE depletion (Gdn/Ybn 41), butits trace element pattern resembles that of the whole-rock andhigh-CaO melt in other respects, suggesting only small distinctionsin source areas between the two components. We propose thatthe depth of melting and the dominance of H2O- or CO2-bearingfluids were the main controls on generating these contrastingmagmas in a syn-collisional environment. The composition ofthe low-CaO magma does not have any obvious rock equivalent,and it is possible that this type of magma does not easily reachthe Earth's surface without the assistance of a water-poor carriermagma. Mineralizing fluids at the San Martín skarn show an evolution characterized by prograde and retrograde associations. The prograde mineral associations consist of (1) a massive garnet zone, (2) a tremolite ± garnet zone, and (3) a late association of quartz, sphalerite, calcite and fluorite lining the vugs in the garnet zone. The fluids of the prograde associations exhibit decreasing temperatures of homogenization (Th) and variable salinities. The fluids of the massive garnet zone have salinities of 36 wt.% NaCl equiv. and Th of 645 to 570 °C, corresponding to pressures of 1055 bar. At the tremolite ± garnet zone, Th range from 438 to 354 °C. In the late association at the endoskarn, the following evolution can be drawn: (a) salinities of 50 to 42 wt.% NaCl equiv., and Th of 455 to 346 °C in quartz, (b) salinities of 46 wt.% NaCl equiv., and Th of 415 to 410 °C in sphalerite, (c) salinities of 50 to 37 wt.% NaCl equiv., and Th of 479 to 310 °C in calcite, (d) salinities of 33 to 28 wt.% NaCl equiv. and of 24 to 22 wt.% KCl in fluorite, and (e) two types of fluids with salinities of 2 and 39 wt.% NaCl equiv. and Th 344 and 300 °C, respectively, in later saccharoidal quartz segregations. The retrograde mineral associations comprise pervasive propylitic alteration to carbonization, and mantos with sulfides. Fluids in epidote have salinities of 7.6 wt.% NaCl equiv. and Th of 287 to 252 °C, and in calcite have salinities of 9.2 to 1 wt.% NaCl equiv. and Th of 188 to 112 °C. Fluids in the sulfide assemblages in the mantos have salinities of 8 to 3 wt.% NaCl equiv. and Th 300 °C, with corresponding pressures of 94 bar. Fluids in late epithermal veins close to the intrusive body have salinities of 10 to 5 wt.% NaCl equiv. and Th of 275 to 200 °C, and distal veins show salinities of 2 to 1 wt.% NaCl equiv. and Th of 160 °C.  相似文献

Fluid inclusion data are presented for the successive stages of limestone, dolomite, magnesite and sulphide-bearing quartz veins in Proterozoic carbonate rocks of the Lesser Himalaya. Subsurface fluids were H2O–NaCl–KCl ± MgCl2 ± CaCl2 and showed successive increase in salinity and temperature. The salinity of the pore fluid during limestone diagenesis was in the range of 7.5–15 eq wt.% NaCl and the magnesite-forming fluids had a salinity of about 9 to 19 eq wt.% NaCl. This progressive rise in salinity is attributed to a more saline fluid in the deeper zones. The inverse relation between homogenization temperatures and final melting temperatures suggests mixing of the fluids during diagenesis, and highly depleted δ18O values rule out participation of magmatic fluid in the mixing. A late stage carbonic fluid is linked with talc formation. The low temperature of sulphide-forming epigenetic solutions, as obtained from fluid inclusions, is also substantiated by the chemical data from these sulphides. δ34S values in galena infer that magmatic sulphur was probably not involved, and the sulphur of the galena is derived from an isotopically heavy source.  相似文献

近年来 ,随着全球变化研究的不断深入 ,火山气体研究作为全球气候变化的一个分支迅速发展。文章介绍了目前火山气体的测试方法 :(1)尽管目前利用“差异法”获得火山喷出的H2 O含量的研究还较普遍 ,但是 ,利用离子探针技术直接测定玻璃基质和岩浆包裹体中水含量代替“差异法”已成为必然。 (2 )目前主要采用电子探针对玻璃基质和岩浆包裹体中Cl、S和F百分含量进行定量测试 ,通常选定工作电压为 15~ 2 0kV ,电流 6~ 15nA ,束斑直径分别为 1~ 10 μm(包裹体 )和 15~ 2 0 μm(基质玻璃 )。 (3)岩浆包裹体和玻璃基质中CO2 和CH4 的含量主要利用红外光谱和激光拉曼探针测定 ,另外基质玻璃中CO2 和CH4 的含量可通过XRF方法分析。文中系统分析了估算火山气体成分和总量过程中选择待测斑晶、岩浆包裹体和基质玻璃的标准 ,阐述了利用“岩石学方法”估算火山喷出气体总量的质量守恒原理 ,指出应用这一方法的前提条件是 :(1)火山气体主要来源于上升岩浆的减压出溶 ;(2 )岩浆上升过程中没有经过大规模的同化混染作用。因此 ,利用“岩石学方法”估算的火山气体总量是实际喷发量的最小值。  相似文献

河北省青龙满族自治县四拨子-六拨子钼铜矿位于燕辽成矿带东部,是近年来发现的中型钼铜矿床。辉钼矿呈细脉状、网脉状、浸染状、薄膜状赋存于长城系石英砂岩及白云岩中的矽卡岩带,钼矿化与硅化关系密切。矿体呈似层状、脉状和透镜状。矿床的形成经历了矽卡岩期和石英-硫化物期,铜和钼矿化主要形成于石英-硫化物期。研究表明,矽卡岩期矿物以发育液体包裹体为特征,石英-硫化物期石英中主要发育液体包裹体、含CO2两相和三相包裹体。矽卡岩期成矿流体为高-中温(192~497℃)、中-低盐度(5.41%~16.53% NaCleqv)、中-低密度(0.59~0.92g/cm3)的NaCl-H2O体系。石英-硫化物期成矿流体为中-低温(主要变化于160~330℃)、低盐度(2.07%~15.17% NaCleqv)和中低密度(0.69~1.01g/cm3)的NaCl-H2O-CO2 (±CH4/N2)型流体。石英的δDSMOW为-128‰~-80‰,δ18OSMOW值为9.6‰~14‰,δ18OH2O值为-3.61%~5.30‰,表明成矿流体具有岩浆水混合大气降水的特征。硫化物的δ34S变化于-0.9‰~5.7‰,平均值为2.9‰,表明成矿物质中硫来自深部岩浆。成矿时代为早侏罗世早期,成矿作用与花岗斑岩岩浆期后热液活动有关。  相似文献

鸡街碱性超基性杂岩体产出于攀西古裂谷南段,地处云南省境内的罗茨地区,空间上与峨嵋山玄武岩紧密伴生。岩体的主体由霞霓钠辉岩、霓霞岩和磷霞岩组成,三类岩石具有相似的微量元素和稀土元素(REE)配分,富集大离子亲石元素K、Rb、Sr、Ba,过渡族元素Sc、Cr和Ni相对亏损,Nb/Ta、Zr/Hf比值在幔源岩的范围内,Sr-Nd同位素沿"幔源趋势"线分布。鸡街碱性超基性岩中不相容元素总体亏损,含量与EMORB相当,稀土总量ΣREE=32.86~70.07偏低,(La/Yb)N=3.03~4.47,HREE亏损,指示源区的适度亏损。微量元素和同位素信息共同指示鸡街碱性超基性岩为地幔岩高压条件下低程度部分熔融的产物(<10%),岩浆演化过程中经历了橄榄石、辉石和少量磁铁矿的结晶分异。霞霓钠辉岩、霓霞岩与磷霞岩来自同一地幔源区,岩浆源区的相对亏损,可能与中-晚二叠纪大量的玄武质岩浆从深部地幔抽取有关。攀西古裂谷的多期次活动为峨嵋地幔柱提供了岩浆通道,地幔柱活动的早期阶段或晚期阶段岩石圈地幔(或混合地幔)低程度部分熔融的碱性岩浆沿此构造薄弱带上侵,形成了攀西古裂谷内呈带状分布的各碱性杂岩体。  相似文献

特格里曼苏铜矿产于库山河群(C1k)砂岩中,矿体呈层状、似层状产出,受地层控制,浅色砂岩与紫色砂岩的交互带是铜矿体产出的最有利层位.通过对含矿砂岩胶结物的研究,认为赋矿砂岩中胶结物类型主要有碳酸盐胶结、硅质胶结、泥质胶结和铁质胶结4种,常见的胶结物组合类型有碳酸盐—硅质胶结组合、碳酸盐—泥质胶结组合、硅质—泥质胶结组合、铁质—泥质—碳酸盐胶结组合;矿化常发生于具碳酸盐—硅质胶结组合的砂岩中,铜矿物与硅质胶结物伴生.通过对含矿砂岩胶结物中流体包裹体研究,得到成矿流体为低温、低盐度流体.认为矿床成因为沉积成岩成因,古陆的风化剥蚀提供了基本的成矿物质,沉积物的搬运沉积形成了矿源层,成岩作用时期由于有机质及细菌的作用、氧化还原条件的改变,在成岩流体的迁移下造成了铜质的局部再富集,形成具有工业意义的铜矿体.  相似文献

为了考察岩石熔融过程中熔体成分的变化规律,以细粒闪长岩为样品,进行了不同熔融程度的实验研究。通过对熔体成分的分析,得出以下结论:在初始熔融条件下,熔体的成分为玄武质,随着熔融程度的增高,熔体的成分由基性向中酸性,由富钾向富钠,由强碱性向亚碱性方向演化。  相似文献
