Do physicochemical variables regulate the distribution of zooplankton communities in reservoirs dominated by filter-feeding carp?

The temporal and spatial distributions of zooplankton communities in the upper, middle, and lower reaches of the Xin＇anjiang Reservoir, Zhejiang, China, were investigated monthly, between 2009 and 2010. Silver carp （Hypophthalmichthys moBtrix） and bighead carp （Aristichthys nobilis） dominated the pelagic fish community of this large, deep reservoir. Cladocerans were distributed evenly throughout the reservoir. Rotifers were mainly found in the upper reaches, while copepods tended to assemble in the lower reaches. The Pearson correlation analysis and stepwise multiple regression were used to identify the major physicochemical gradients influencing community variations. Zooplankton community distributions were influenced by water temperature, dissolved oxygen, phosphorus, nitrogen, and silicon. Excess nutrients, in particular silicon, stimulated rotifer growth. Based on these findings, it is possible to use rotifer density as a bioindicator of eutrophic status in deep reservoir ecosystems.  相似文献

Marine macroalgae can absorb carbon and play an important role in carbon sequestration. As an important economic macroalga, Gracilariopsis lemaneiformis has the potential to significantly affect carbon absorption and storage in wave-sheltered intertidal reef systems. However, detailed knowledge on seasonal biomass changes and carbon storage of G. lemaneiformis is lacking, especially in many small and scattered ecosystems. Considering the influence of human activities on wild distribution of G. lemaneiformis, the understanding of seasonal dynamics of an economically important species in nature is necessary. In this study, we first investigated seasonal variations in biomass, coverage area, and carbon storage during low tide from August 2011 to July 2012 in Zhanshan Bay, Qingdao, China. Furthermore, we estimated the carbon storage potential of wild G. lemaneiformis using light use efficiency(LUE). The results show that the standing biomass and coverage area changed significantly with season. However, seasonal variations in carbon content and water content were not obvious, with an average content of 35.1% and 83.64%, respectively. Moreover, carbon storage in individual months varied between 0.67 and 47.03 g C/m 2, and the value of carbon storage was the highest in August and June and the lowest in February. In Zhanshan Bay, LUE of G. lemaneiformis was only 0.23%. If it is increased to the theoretical maximum(5%–6%), the carbon storage will have an increase of at least 21 times compared with the current, which suggested that carbon storage of wild G. lemaneiformis had a high enhancement potential. The study will help to assess a potential role of G. lemaneiformis in reducing atmospheric CO2.  相似文献

深圳大鹏半岛国家地质公园野生脊椎动物资源丰富。2012年8月―2013年1月,对境内进行了动物物种多样性调查,在该地区共发现野生脊椎动物109种,其中兽类16种,鸟类63种,爬行类19种,两栖类11种。物种区系分析表明东洋界种类明显占优。调查发现有国家Ⅰ级重点保护动物1种,即蟒蛇（Python molurus）,国家Ⅱ级重点保护动物12种,包括穿山甲（Manis pentadatyla）、鸢（Miluus Korschun）、游隼（Falco peregrinus）、红隼（F. peregrinus）、燕隼（F. tinnunculus）、雀鹰（Accipiter nisus）、褐翅鸦鹃（Polophilus sinensis）、小鸦鹃（Centropus bengalensis）、斑头鸺鹠（Glaucidium cuculoides）、领鸺鹠（G. brodiei）、三线闭壳龟（Cuora trifasciala）和虎纹蛙（Haplobatrachus rugulosus）等。同时获得部分重要物种如香港瘰螈（Paramesotriton hongkongensis）,该物种在大鹏半岛国家地质公园境内首次发现。最后对该区野生脊椎动物资源现状及保护进行了分析,并提出了物种认定、栖息地保护、制定相应的恢复计划、合作保护和宣传教育等保护野生动物的对策和措施。  相似文献

本实验测定了三疣梭子蟹抗溶藻弧菌感染品系和野生群体的形态特征,并分析了2个群体的16SrRNA和COⅠ序列特征。结果表明,抗溶藻弧菌感染品系的体重、第一侧齿间距和第二测齿间距形态比例参数显著小于野生蟹,其余比例参数间差异不显著。结果表明,抗溶藻弧菌感染品系在外形特征上与野生蟹有一定差别,但是,所有形态的差异系数都小于1.28,尚未达到亚种水平,该结果与16SrRNA和COⅠ分析结果一致。  相似文献
