The Oligocene-Miocene is a key interval that was characterized by a cooling trend associated with a progressive decrease of atmospheric CO2 concentrations that ends in the Present days.In the Central Mediterranean area, during this interval, three main carbonate platform domains developed in the foreland zone of the Apennines: the Latium-Abruzzi-Campana and Apulia domain in the central and south-eastern sectors of the chain and the Hyblea and Pelagian carbonate platforms in the south and south-western sectors. This work analyzes the impact and interplay of global and regional factors controlling the development of different carbonate factories and facies associations over the Chattian and the early Messinian time interval. Three well-studied examples of the central Mediterranean will be used: the Chattian ramp of Malta, the Latium-Abruzzi ramp, and the Bolognano ramp within the northern portion of the Apulian carbonate platform (outcropping on Majella Mountain).The Malta ramp represents the reference model for the heterozoan Oligo-Miocene carbonate factory, since it developed far from terrigenous input, in persistent oligotrophic conditions, and within a tropical climate. In contrast, the evolution of the central Apennine ramps is strictly related to the geodynamic evolution of the Apennines and simultaneously to global oceanographic changes.The Chattian Apennine ramps are affected by a basin conformation that favored the development of dominant currents and related dune fields. Successively, these ramps were exposed to strong Aquitanian volcanism that induced a shift towards an aphotic-dominated carbonate factory. Since the Burdigalian the development of the Apennines has affected the evolution of the investigated ramps through the eastward migration of foredeep systems and related nutrient input. This influence becomes more evident between the Tortonian and Messinian, during which reef-rimmed platforms developed in the rest of the Mediterranean while red algae still dominated in the Apennine ramps. Amongst the global events, the C-cycle perturbation, occurring between the late Burdigalian and Serravallian (Monterey event), leaves a clear sign on the two Apennine ramps. 相似文献

Active faults at a range in scales are observed in different directions (E-W, N-S and NE-SW) in the extensional tectonic regime of the Aegean region, western Turkey. However, mechanisms and types of faults in the Gulf of Izmir have not been investigated properly. Tectonic setting in the gulf together with the origin and characteristics of faults were studied in this study by integrating interpretation from various very high resolution acoustic data (multibeam bathymetry and CHIRP very high resolution seismic) acquired in the Gulf of Izmir.The Gulf of Izmir has thick, unconsolidated, stratified sediment cover. The water depth increases from the inner part (SE) to the outer part (NW) of the gulf with complex sea floor morphology. However, northeastern part of the coastal region is very shallow because of the sedimentary influx transported by the Gediz River. The western margin and the southern part of the gulf were formed under the influence of Uzunada (Uzun Island) and Izmir Faults, respectively. In the southern offshore, there is only one, E-W directional normal fault dipping through the north and corresponding to the offshore segment of the Izmir Fault Zone to the west. The acoustic data enable identification of the Uzunada Fault Zone extending as a simple lineament from near Guzelbahce in the south but bifurcating toward the NE of the Cicek Archipelago and terminating with left-lateral slip in the E-NE of the Hekim Island. After the sinistral strike-slip, the fault re-extends in the NW direction untill the mid of Uzunada as a single fault segment. Then, the fault is observed as a bunch of many active fault segments (like horse-tail splays) to the east of Uzunada with N-NW elongation through the outer gulf. These segments were chronologically succeeded from the east to the west. This progradational pattern is attributed to westward extension of the Gulf of Izmir with anti-clockwise rotational escape of the Anatolian Plate. In addition, progradation of faults was controlled by the NE-SW directional tear faults which may have played a key role in the shoreline extension and general pattern of the outer gulf islands. A very young graben in the central part of the gulf, also dislocated by the tear faults was observed parallel to the Uzunada Fault Zone as another indicator of ongoing fan-shaped opening of the gulf. These tectonic elements are consistent with earlier interpretation of GPS-based observations indicating a four-wheel gear system of rigid-body rotations. Additionally, a new fault extending from the far offshore of Foca to Suzbeyli village to the south was identified in this study. Its NW-SE extension is angular to the previous tectonic elements. All these elements apparently project at least 10 km farther northward, in the offshore Foca where the earthquake epicenters cluster. 相似文献

In recent years, negative impacts of jellyfish blooms (JB) on marine human activities have been increasingly reported. Aquaculture has been affected by jellyfish outbreaks, mostly documented through repeated episodes of farmed salmon mortalities in Northern Europe; however, the valuation of JB consequences on the aquaculture sector still remains poorly quantified. This study aims to provide the first quantitative evaluation effects of JB on finfish aquaculture in the Mediterranean Sea and to investigate the general awareness of JB impacts among Mediterranean aquaculture professional workers. The aquaculture workers' perception about JB was assessed through a structured interview-based survey administered across 21 aquaculture facilities in central and western Mediterranean. The workers' awareness about JB impacts on aquaculture differed among countries. Italian and Spanish fish farmers were better informed about jellyfish proliferations and, together with Tunisian farmers, they all recognized the wide potential consequences of JB on sea bream and sea bass aquaculture. On the contrary, the majority of Maltese respondents considered JB as a non-significant threat to their activity, mostly based on off-shore tuna farming. This study for the first time shows that JB may negatively affect different Mediterranean aquaculture facilities from Tunisia (Sicily Channel) and Spain (Alboran Sea), by increasing farmed fish gill disorders and mortality, clogging net cages, or inflicting painful stings to field operators, with severe economic consequences. Available knowledge calls for the development of coordinated preventive plans, adaptation policies, and mitigation countermeasures across European countries in order to address the JB phenomenon and its impacts on coastal water activities. 相似文献

In the Variscan French Massif Central and Armorican Massif, the tectonic significance of a widespread NW–SE-trending stretching lineation, coeval with medium pressure–medium temperature metamorphism, is an open question. Based on a structural analysis in the southern part of the Massif Central, we show that this top-to-the-NW shearing is a deformation event, referred to as D2, which followed a D1 top-to-the-south shearing Devonian phase, and was itself re-deformed by a Late D3 Visean–Serpukhovian southward-thrusting event. We date the D2 phase at 360 Ma (Famennian–Tournaisian boundary). In the Armorican Massif, D2 is the “Bretonian phase” recorded in the metamorphic series and sedimentary basins. Geodynamically, D2 is related to a general northwestward shearing during the Laurussia–Gondwana collision, which occurred after the closure of the Rheic Ocean, as indicated by the emplacement of the Lizard ophiolitic nappe in Britain. The left-lateral Nort-sur-Erdre fault accommodated the absence of ductile shearing in Central Armorica. 相似文献

致密砂岩储层评价方案是识别储层"甜点"的基础,也是致密油勘探的重点和难点,但目前国内对此尚无统一认识。为此,以松南中央坳陷区泉四段致密砂岩为例,综合常规压汞、恒速压汞、高压压汞等多种资料对致密储层微观孔喉结构进行了精细表征,并以此为基础建立了致密砂岩储层评价方案。结果表明:研究区致密砂岩孔喉小、物性差,储集空间以次生溶孔为主;储层渗透性主要由占小部分体积的最大孔喉半径所控制,喉道半径越大、大喉道所占比例越高,致密储层的渗透率(K)就越高、品质就越好。在此基础上,由孔喉结构的差异性出发,将松南中央坳陷区泉四段致密砂岩储层分类4类,其中,石油能够充注至Ⅰ—Ⅲ类致密储层,且Ⅰ类致密储层(K为(0.1~1.0)×10~(-3)μm~2)品质最高,可视为储层"甜点"。 相似文献

With rapid development of urbanization and regional interaction and interdependence, regional urban agglomeration planning
becomes more and more important in China, in order to promote integrated development of various cities with close interrelationship.
However, it is still arguable academically on how to define the boundary or which cities to be included for the urban agglomeration
of a region. This paper aims to shed lights on how to identify urban spheres of influence scientifically by introducing field
modeling method and by practicing a case study on 168 cities in Central China. In our field modeling method, the influence
intensities of cities were measured by a comprehensive index and urban spheres of influence were represented spatially by
field intensity. Then, their classification and spatial distribution characteristics of study area in 2007 were identified
and explored by using GIS and statistical methods. The result showed that: 1) Wuhan is the absolute dominant city in Central
China; 2) the provincial capital cities dominate their own provinces and there are no other lower grade agglomeration centers;
and 3) the basic types of organization form of urban sphere of influence are single-polar type, agglomeration type, close-related

Denudation rates of small tributary valleys in the upper Rhone valley of the Swiss Central Alps vary by more than an order of magnitude within a very small distance (tens of kilometers). Morphometric data indicate two distinct erosion processes operate in these steep mountain valleys. We determined the rates of these processes using cosmogenic beryllium‐10 (10Be) in pooled soil and stream sediment samples. Denudation in deep, glacially scoured valleys is characterized by rapid, non‐uniform processes, such as debris flows and rock falls. In these steep valleys denudation rates are 760–2100 mm kyr?1. In those basins which show minimal previous glacial modification denudation rates are low with 60–560 mm kyr?1. The denudation rate in each basin represents a binary mixture between the rapid, non‐uniform processes, and soil creep. The soil production rate measured with cosmogenic 10Be in soil samples averages at 60 mm kyr?1. Mixing calculations suggest that the debris flows and rock falls are occurring at rates up to 3000–7000 mm kyr?1. These very high rates occur in the absence of baselevel lowering, since the tributaries drain into the Rhone trunk stream up‐stream of a knickzone. The flux‐weighted spatial average of denudation rates for the upper Rhone valley is 1400 mm kyr?1, which is similar to rock uplift rates determined in this area from leveling. The pace and location of erosion processes are determined by the oscillation between a glacial and a non‐glacial state, preventing the landscape from reaching equilibrium. This study aimed to investigate the seasonal variability of runoff generation processes, the sources of stream water, and the controls on the contribution of event water to streamflow for a small forested catchment in the Italian pre‐Alps. Hydrometric, isotopic, and electrical conductivity data collected between August 2012 and August 2013 revealed a marked seasonal variability in runoff responses. Noticeable differences in runoff coefficients and hydrological dynamics between summer and fall/spring rainfall events were related to antecedent moisture conditions and event size. Two‐component and three‐component hydrograph separation and end‐member mixing analysis showed an increase in event water contributions to streamflow with event size and average rainfall intensity. Event water fractions were larger during dry conditions in the summer, suggesting that stormflow generation in the summer consisted predominantly of direct channel precipitation and some saturated overland flow from the riparian zone. On the contrary, groundwater and hillslope soil water contributions dominated the streamflow response during wet conditions in fall. Seasonal differences were also noted between event water fractions computed based on isotopic and electrical conductivity data, likely because of the dilution effect during the wetter months. 本文对跨过西秦岭造山带(中段)的阿坝—若尔盖—临潭—兰州大地电磁剖面(WQL-L1)所采集到的数据进行了精细化处理分析和二维反演研究,结合跨过2013年岷县漳县地震区的WQL-L6剖面大地电磁探测结果和以往的地质与地球物理资料,对西秦岭造山带(中段)的深部电性结构、主要断裂带延伸状况以及与南北两侧地块的接触关系等进行了分析研究,结果表明:东昆仑断裂带塔藏段、迭部—白龙江断裂和光盖山—迭山断裂带共同组成了东昆仑断裂系统,分隔了松潘—甘孜地块和西秦岭造山带(中段);西秦岭北缘断裂带为主要的高角度南倾大型电性边界带,延伸深度穿过莫霍面;临潭—宕昌断裂带具有电性边界带特征,其延伸情况具有东、西差异.西秦岭造山带(中段)自地表到深度约20km范围表现为东北和西南浅、中部深的倒"梯形"高阻层,在高阻层之下广泛发育低阻层,低阻层与高阻层相互契合,呈现相互挤压堆积的式样,其西南侧的松潘—甘孜地块中下地壳存在西南深、东北浅低阻层,其东北侧的陇西盆地具有稳定的成层性结构,显示出西秦岭造山带(中段)正处于松潘—甘孜地块向北挤压和陇西盆地向南的阻挡挤压作用中.松潘—甘孜地块从西南向东北推挤、东北侧陇西盆地相对阻挡的相互作用是2013年岷县漳县6.6级地震发生的外部动力学机制,同时地震震源区特殊介质属性是该次地震发生的内部因素.西秦岭造山带(中段)中上地壳倒"梯形"高阻体埋深西薄、东厚的分段差异与该段内部中强地震分布差异有关.东昆仑断裂玛沁段和塔藏段内部的深部电性结构差异和延伸状况与东昆仑断裂自西向东走滑速率减小有内在联系. 相似文献

Complex para‐glacial systems may show signs of destabilization leading to frequent and potentially hazardous debris‐flows. Understanding creeping permafrost displacement over a period of time is therefore crucial for hazard management and risks assessment. This paper presents our methodology for estimating creeping permafrost displacement based upon data derived from various survey methods and demonstrates its relevance on the Glacier Bonnard system in southern Switzerland. Geostatistical processing allowed estimation of the displacement intensity over the area of interest, as well as assessment of the interpolation quality. Although the local measurement network needs to be refined, the results largely improve the understanding of the Bonnard para‐glacial system, though highlighting the need to locally refine the measurement network. In the present case, the destabilized front advances at ~1 m/a and the upstream creeping part at ~0.4 m/a. Variance analysis also provide objective thresholds that could be used to distinguish underlying physical processes. Copyright © 2015 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd. 相似文献
