A suite of spinel–cordierite granulites from Viziangram, Eastern Ghats Belt, India preserve mineral assemblages and reaction textures indicative of peak metamorphic conditions of >1000 °C, >8<10 kbar, followed successively by near isobaric cooling (down to 750–800 °C), near isothermal decompression (to 4–5 kbar), and late hydration. P–T conditions of each stage are evaluated through a combination of petrogenetic grid approach and thermobarometry. Sapphirine is developed in sillimanite‐bearing acid pegmatite veins that intruded the spinel–cordierite granulite close to peak metamorphic conditions, and also in the host rock in immediate contact with the pegmatite. Both sillimanite and sapphirine in the pegmatite are considered to be magmatic phases. Field observations and textural characteristics suggest that Al‐metasomatism of the spinel–cordierite granulite due to the intrusion of pegmatite was responsible for sapphirine formation in the spinel granulite.  相似文献

木孜塔格蛇绿岩沿木孜塔格-鲸鱼湖断裂继续分布,由质橄榄岩,堆晶岩和火山岩3个单元构成,其中,蛇绿岩各单元呈构造混杂出露;尖晶石仅见于尖晶石二辉橄榄岩中,呈他形一半自形,对尖晶石的成分分析表明,这些橄榄岩经历了从洋中脊到俯冲带环境的变化,而最终在俯冲带就位,因此属SSZ型蛇绿岩,这对探讨昆仑山的演化极具参考价值。  相似文献

以三组不同的重组的尖晶石橄榄岩为起始成分.在压力为0.10—0.15GPa和温度为1000—1380℃条件下,进行了系统的部分熔融和亚固相平衡实验。实验结果显示,在部分熔融过程中,尖晶石的Mg#,即Mg/(Mg+Fe),和Cr#,即Cr/(Cr+Al),随熔融度的增大而增大;在亚固相平衡过程中,尖晶石的Mg#随温度的升高而增大,但Cr#在纯橄榄岩中保持不变,而在二辉和方辉橄榄岩中稍有增大。尖晶石的Mg#—Cr#间反相近线性代表了一种非整体平衡的等热关系。计算模拟得到同样的结果。这同时被自然橄榄岩中尖晶石的Mg#—Cr#间的关系所证明。由于亚固相条件下平衡的结果,尖晶石的化学成分中只有Cr#变化不大,故能用来衡量其所在岩体曾经受的相对熔融度。即尖晶石的Cr#越大,所在岩体经受的熔融度越大。相反,尖晶石的Mg#和Cr#在岩浆结晶过程中应随温度的降低而减小;因此,可用玄武岩中尖晶石的Cr#来指示其岩浆的原始Cr_2O_3/Al_2O_3特征,及用尖晶石的环带特征来探讨岩浆的演化(冷却速度,混染情况)。  相似文献

 Magnetic measurement of Fe3− x Si x O4 spinel solid solutions indicates that their Curie temperatures decrease gradually, but not linearly, from 851 to 12 K with increasing content of nonmagnetic ions Si4+. Magnetic hysteresis becomes more noticeable in solid solutions having a larger content of Fe2SiO4. Saturation magnetizations of Fe3− x Si x O4 samples increase up to x=0.357 and they are easily saturated in the field of H=0.1 T. However, magnetization of the sample of x=0.794 does not approach saturation even at high field of H=7.0 T and has a large coercive force. The Si4+ disordered distribution is confirmed to be tetr[Fe3+ 1− x + x t Si4+ x (1− t )] octa[Fe2+ 1+ x Fe3+ 1− x x t Si4+ x t ] O4 by the spin moment, which is consistent with site occupancy obtained from X-ray crystal structure refinement. Their molecular magnetizations would be expressed as M B={4(1+x)+10xtB as functions of composition parameter x and Si4+ ordering parameter t of the solid solution. The sample of x=0.794 is antiferromagnetic below the Néel temperature, mainly due to the octahedral cation interaction M OM O, while both M TM O and M OM O interactions induce a ferrimagnetic property. Concerning magnetic spin configuration, in the case of x>0.42, the lowest dɛ level becomes a singlet, resulting in no orbital angular momentum. The ultramafic body sampled in the Chinese Continental Scientific Drilling (CCSD) Hole PP3 is located in the eastern part of the Dabie-Sulu UHP metamorphic belt near Donghai County. It is about 480 m thick, and consists chiefly of garnet peridotite, dunite and serpentinite. The principal minerals include olivine, chromium spinel, diopside, enstatite, garnet with minor secondary augite, phlogopite and amphibole. Both the olivine and orthopyroxene are highly magnesian, and the garnet is pyropic with 5.4-6.4% CaO and 0.3-3.3% Cr2O3. Two generations of clinopyroxene are present; an early diopside followed by augite. Chromium spinels are highly variable with Cr#s (100Cr / (Cr + Al)) between 51 and 89, and their compositions reflect different processes of formation, namely partial melting and eclogite, amphibole and greenschist facies metamorphism. The Mg#s (100 Mg / (Mg + Fe2+))of the spinels correlate positively with the Cr#s but negatively with oxygen fugacity. Based on the spinel compositions the ultramafic rocks originated in the shallow mantle, then subducted to depths of more than 100 km and finally exhumed to the surface. They underwent partial melting at shallow depths, mostly in the spinel facies, and were later transformed into garnet peridotites during deep subduction. All of the rocks were weakly metasomatized during exhumation and were subjected to retrograde metamorphism.  相似文献

The Barro Alto complex, central Brazil, is a layered mafic–ultramafic intrusion, which was subjected to granulite facies metamorphism during the Neoproterozoic. Ultra-high-temperature conditions are recorded by parageneses that occur in some lenses of quartz-bearing rock (metagranite, metapelite and impure quartzite). The peak paragenesis consists of spinel+quartz±cordierite±leucosome (recording the former presence of melt with quartz in excess), which is replaced by either orthopyroxene+sillimanite or garnet+sillimanite. Quartz+biotite±sillimanite±garnet symplectites are ubiquitous and indicate reactions between Fe–Mg phases and melt. Late kyanite porphyroblasts have overgrown these symplectites. The direct replacement of spinel+quartz±cordierite by orthopyroxene+sillimanite or garnet+sillimanite occurred around the [Sa] invariant point, which appears only in a petrogenetic grid with inverted topology. The topology inversion occurs at conditions of high oxygen fugacity or due to the presence of ZnO-bearing spinel. Minimum peak conditions of ultra-high-temperature metamorphism were calculated as c. 980 °C and c. 7.9 kbar. The succession of observed mineral textures can be explained by a near-isobaric cooling P–T  path, with a cooling stage occurring between c. 980 and 750 °C.  相似文献

Along the east coast of the Andaman Islands, abundant detrital chromian spinels frequently occur in black sands at the confluence of streams meeting the Andaman Sea. The mineral chemistry of these detrital chromian spinels has been used in reconstructing the evolutionary history of the Andaman ophiolite. The chromian spinels show wide variation in compositional parameters such as Cr# [= Cr/(Cr + A1) atomic ratio] (0.13–0.91), Mg# [= Mg/(Mg + Fe2+) atomic ratio] (0.23–0.76), and TiO2 (<0.05–3.9 wt%). The YFe3+[= 100Fe3+/(Cr + A1 + Fe3+) atomic ratio] is remarkably low (usually <10 except for south Andaman). The ranges of chemical composition of chromian spinels are different in each locality. The spinel compositions show very depleted signatures over the entire island, which suggests that all massifs in the Andaman ophiolite were affected under island‐arc conditions. Although the degree of depletion varies in different parts of the island, a directional change in composition of the detrital chromian spinels from south to north is evident. Towards the north the detrital chromian spinels point to less‐depleted source rocks in contrast to relatively more depleted towards the south. The possibilities to explain this directional change are critically discussed in the context of the evolution of Andaman ophiolite.  相似文献
