To understand the source and nature of the ore-forming fluids of the Edmond hydrothermal field on the Central Indian Ridge, we studied the He-Ar isotope composition and fluid inclusions of the hydrothermal precipitates.Our results show that the sulfide samples contain noble gases He, Ne, Kr, and Xe with their abundances in between those of air-saturated water(ASW) and mid-ocean ridge basalt(MORB). The ~3He/~4He ratio varies from1.3 to 8.7 R_a(n=10, average: 5.1 R_a), whereas the ~(40)Ar/~(36) Ar ratio is from 285.3 to 314.7(n=10, average: 294.8). These results suggest that the He was derived from a mixture of MORB with variable amounts of seawater, but the Ar in the ore-forming fluids trapped in the sulfides is predominantly derived from seawater. The fluid inclusions of barite have a wide range of homogenization temperatures and salinities varying from 163°C to 260°C and 2.6 wt%to 8.5 wt% Na Cl equiv., respectively. It is suggested that the ore-forming fluids were produced by phase separation, which agreed with the present-day vent fluid study.  相似文献

The Volcanic Sedimentary Complex (VSC) of the Iberian Pyrite Belt (IPB) in southern Portugal and Spain, comprises an Upper Devonian to Lower Carboniferous submarine succession with a variety of felsic volcanic lithofacies. The architecture of the felsic volcanic centres includes felsic lavas/domes, pyroclastic units, intrusions and minor mafic units that define lava–cryptodome–pumice cone volcanoes. The diversity of volcanic lithofacies recognized in different areas of the IPB mainly reflects variations in proximity to source, but also differences in the eruption style. The IPB volcanoes are intrabasinal, range in length from 2 km to > 8 km and their thickest sections vary from ∼ 400 m to > 800 m. These volcanoes are dominated by felsic lavas/domes that occur at several stratigraphic positions within the volcanic centre, however the pyroclastic units are also abundant and are spatially related to the lavas/domes. The intrusions are minor, and define cryptodomes and partly-extrusive cryptodomes. The hydrothermal systems that formed the Neves Corvo and Lousal massive sulfide ore deposits are associated with effusive units of felsic volcanic centres. At Neves Corvo, the massive sulfide orebodies are associated to rhyolitic lavas that overlie relatively thick fiamme-rich pyroclastic unit. In several other locations within the belt, pyroclastic units contain sulfide clasts that may have been derived from yet to be discovered coeval massive sulfide deposits at or below the sea floor, which enhances the exploration potential of these pyroclastic units and demonstrates the need for volcanic facies analysis in exploration.  相似文献

The dynamic response of vehicular overpasses with massive foundations built in highly populated earthquake prone regions is studied to assess the massive foundation potential of being a technically sound mean to reduce the structural response during major earthquakes. The study consists on numerical simulations using 3-D finite element models. Two typical supports of a major 23 km long vehicular overpass recently built in the north east part of Mexico City valley were considered in this research. This zone is characterized by the presence of stiff soils comprised by dense and very dense silty sands and sandy silts, randomly intercalated by stiff clays layers of variable thickness. Initially, a conventional raft foundation structurally connected to four precast closed-end concrete piles was considered. Then, the potential beneficial effect of a massive foundation of variable depth was assessed. Sets of 3-D finite element models were developed and the response of the systems was evaluated for a typical seismic scenario such as that prevailing at the zone, assuming a potential 8.1 Mw seismic event, and for a hypothetical 8.7 Mw extreme event. Important attenuations of about 39% to 48% at the upper deck spectral accelerations and of 21% to 30% in maximum lateral foundation displacements were achieved with the massive soil improvement for the cases analyzed. Thus, the massive foundations seem to be a convenient alternative to reduce the overall structural seismic response.  相似文献

提要沉积物中酸挥发性硫化物(AVS)是硫化物的生成、氧化和扩散等综合作用的反映,有机物的供给、硫酸盐的还原等因素都能影响其分布特征。本文对武汉东湖三个污染程度不同站点的AVS深度分布特征进行了研究,结果表明,AVS含量在一定深度沉积物中具有最大值,东湖沉积物中AVS的深度分布具有两种不同的模式,Ⅰ站和Ⅱ站AVS浓度峰在5cm左右的表层沉积物中,且AVS还原层深度较狭窄,而Ⅲ站AVS浓度峰处于10-20cm深度范围,沉积物中有机质负荷的差异是导致这种分布特征的重要原因。沉积物中有机质含量对AVS的深度分布具有重要影响,高有机质负荷导致AVS浓度峰向表层迁移,且AVS还原层分布于较狭窄的深度范围,对方涛等对流-扩散模型的应用表明,该模型在高有机质负荷沉积物中(Ⅰ、Ⅱ站)AVS深度分布的应用较为理想,然而低有机质负荷沉积物中(Ⅲ站)不能准确反映AVS的深度分布特征,说明其应用范围具有一定的局限性。  相似文献

提出一个利用次氯酸钠氧化铁硫化物碱性磺基水杨酸提取并直接测定碳酸盐相中铁硫化物的方法。结果表明,30%的NaClO溶液浸泡样品40h以上,可以完全释放铁硫化物并形成氢氧化铁胶体。0.1g/mL的碱性磺基水杨酸溶液则较容易地溶解新生成的氢氧化铁胶体,形成黄色的铁-磺基水杨酸络合物,可被分光光度法定量测定。该方法集选择性分离、富集和测定于一体,分析流程简单,结果可靠,适合地质样品中硫化物形式铁的测定。  相似文献

Non-fuel marine minerals are reviewed from the perspective of resources and their value as active analogs that can advance understanding of types of ancient ore deposits that formed in marine settings. The theory of plate tectonics is the largest influence in expanding our vision of marine minerals and in developing our understanding of geologic controls of mineralization in space and time. Prior to the advent of plate tectonics, we viewed the ocean basins as passive sinks that served as containers for particulate and dissolved material eroded from land. This view adequately explained marine placer deposits (heavy minerals and gems), aggregates (sand and gravel), and precipitates (phosphorites and manganese nodules). Although numerous sites of placer mineral deposits are known on continental shelves worldwide, current activity pertains to diamond mining off southwestern Africa, tin mining off southeastern Asia, and intermittent gold mining off northwestern North America, which are all surpassed economically by worldwide recovery of marine sand and gravel, in turn dwarfed by offshore oil and gas. With the advent of plate tectonics, plate boundaries in ocean basins are recognized as active sources of mineralization in the form of hydrothermal massive sulfide deposits and proximal lower-temperature deposits hosted in oceanic crust (mafic at ocean ridges and felsic at volcanic island arcs), and of magmatic Ni–Cu sulfide, chromite and PGE deposits inferred to be present in the oceanic upper mantle–lower crust based on their occurrence in ophiolites. Some 300 sites of hydrothermal active and relict mineralization, most of them minor, are known at this early stage of seafloor exploration on ocean ridges, in fore-arc volcanoes, at back-arc spreading axes, and in arc rifts; deposits formed at spreading axes and transported off-axis by spreading are present in oceanic lithosphere but are virtually unknown. The TAG (Trans-Atlantic Geotraverse) hydrothermal field in the axial valley of the Mid-Atlantic Ridge (latitude 26° N) is considered to exemplify a major Volcanogenic Massive Sulfide (VMS) deposit forming at a spreading axis. The most prospective of these occurrences lie within the 200 nautical mile (370 km)-wide Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) of the nations of the volcanic island arcs of the western Pacific where metal content of massive sulfides (Ag, Au, Ba, Cu, Pb, Sb, Zn) exceeds that at ocean ridges. Plate tectonics early provided a framework for mineralization on the scale of global plate boundaries and is providing guidance to gradually converge on sites of mineralization through regional scales of plate reorganization, with the potential to elucidate the occurrence of individual deposits (e.g., Eocene Carlin-type gold deposits). Investigation of the spectrum of marine minerals as active analogs of types of ancient mineral deposits is contributing to this convergence. Consideration of questions posed by Brian Skinner (1997) of what we do and do not know about ancient hydrothermal mineral deposits demonstrates the ongoing advances in understanding driven by investigation of marine minerals.  相似文献

近年来海底块状硫化物矿床的深入研究表明,块状硫化物矿床形成与其成矿构造环境演化期间特定阶段的构造-火山作用有关,矿床持续形成时间一般不超过几个百万年。锡铁山矿床是我国西北地区最大的海底热液块状硫化物铅锌矿床,本文通过锡铁山矿床赋矿岩系火山岩岩石化学及地球化学特征的系统研究,对锡铁山矿床赋矿火山岩系岩浆演化过程及成矿构造环境得出如下几点认识:(1)锡铁山矿区赋矿滩间山群火山岩岩石化学及地球化学特征一致表明滩间山群岩浆活动具有自酸性向基性同源岩浆演化的特点。矿区滩间山群不同岩组/段的火山岩代表了同源岩浆不同演化阶段的产物。自O1-2tna-1岩段、O1-2tnb岩组→O1-2tnd-1岩段→O1-2tnd-3岩段,矿区火山岩岩石化学及稀土与微量元素地球化学具有明显的渐变过渡关系。(2)矿区滩间山群火山岩稀土、微量元素组成特征及成岩构造环境判别图解一致揭示,从O1-2tna-1岩段、O1-2tnb岩组→O1-2tnd-1岩段→O1-2tnd-3岩段,滩间山群火山岩成岩构造环境经历了从陆缘基底岛弧→洋陆过渡型地壳→典型大洋地壳的连续过渡变化。(3)矿区滩间山群火山岩岩浆演化过程及Rb、Sr组分变化趋势与大陆边缘弧后盆地火山岩岩浆演化过程相近,与现代西太平洋冲绳海槽形成过程相似。(4)综上推断,矿区深部及外围找矿工作的重点对象是弧后盆地拉张早期形成的具有双峰式火山岩组合的下部火山-沉积组合,而矿区南部O1-2tnd岩组找寻同类矿床的可能性不大。  相似文献
