The Nanga Parbat Himalaya presents some of the greatest relief on Earth, yet sediment production and denudation rates have only been sporadically addressed. We utilized field measurements and computer models to estimate bank full discharge, sediment transport, and denudation rates for the Raikot and Buldar drainage basins (north slope of Nanga Parbat) and the upper reach of the Rupal drainage basin (south slope).The overall tasks of determining stream flow conditions in such a dynamic geomorphic setting is challenging. No gage data exist for these drainage basins, and the overall character of the drainage basins (high relief, steep flow gradients, and turbulent flow conditions) does not lend itself to either ready access or complete profiling.Cross-sectional profiles were surveyed through selected reaches of these drainage basins. These data were then incorporated into software (WinXSPRO) that aids in the characterization (stage, discharge, velocity, and shear stress) of high altitude, steep mountain stream conditions.Complete field measurements of channel depths were rarely possible (except at several bridges where the middle of the channel could actually be straddled and probed) and, when coupled with velocity measurements, provided discrete points of field-measured discharge calculations. These points were then used to calibrate WinXSPRO results for the same reach and provided a confidence level for computer-generated results.Flow calculations suggest that under near bank full conditions, the upper Raikot drainage basin produces discharges of 61 cm and moves about 11,000 tons day−1 (9980 tons day−1) of sediment through its channel. Bank full conditions on the upper portion of the Rupal drainage basin generate discharges of 84 cm and moves only about 3800 tons day−1 (3450 tons day−1) of sediment. Although the upper Rupal drainage basin moves more water, the lower slope of the drainage basin (0.03) generates a much smaller shear stress (461 Pa) than does the higher slope (0.12) of the upper Raikot drainage basin (1925 Pa).Dissolved and suspended sediment loads were measured from water/sediment samples collected throughout the day and night over a period of 10 days at the height of the summer melt season but proved to be a minor variable in transport flux. Channel bed loads were measured using a pebble count method of bank material and then used to generate ratings curves of bed loads relative to discharge volumes. When coupled with discharge data and basin area, mean annual sediment yield and denudation rates for Nanga Parbat are produced. Denudation rates calculated in this fashion range from 0.2 mm year−1 in the slower, more sluggish Rupal drainage basin to almost 6 mm year−1 in the steeper, faster flowing Raikot and Buldar drainage basins.  相似文献

国道219线新-藏区界至红土达坂路段全长109.55km。大部分路段穿越湖盆槽谷中央部位,部分线路沿湖盆边缘台地布设,海拔高度介于5000-5400m之间,地势平坦开阔,多年冻土发育,工程地质条件较差;现有公路路基高度低,几乎没有排水设施。冬季易产生路基冻胀和涎流冰危害,春、夏季因冻土融化,常引起路基沉陷和翻浆,严重危害公路运输安全甚至阻断交通。公路工程修建活动将极大地改变冻土环境,使天然状态下的水分循环发生改变,导致多年冻土退化,上限加深,进一步诱发冻胀、融沉、热融滑塌等冻土灾害,加剧风沙灾害、诱发公路边坡失稳破坏。在即将进行的公路改、扩建工程中,应采取保护冻土的设计原则,优选线路,加强侧向排水,合理设置取弃土场。  相似文献

通过对该矿床成矿地质背景、矿床地质特征、成矿标志及控矿因素等诸方面分析,指出成矿物质主要来源于下奥陶统岛弧钙碱性安山—英安质火山碎屑岩,矿体受多级断裂裂隙系统的控制,且主要定位于韧—脆性剪切带内的强片理化带中,成矿作用发生于碰撞造山作用挤压—伸展转变期,花岗闪长岩、闪长岩等造山期中酸性岩体侵位期间及其以后,深部岩浆房或中酸性侵入体主要为矿床形成提供了热驱动力,矿床成因类型属与火山岩有关的构造蚀变岩型金矿床。在此基础上,总结归纳了该矿床的成矿模式与综合找矿标志。  相似文献

利用投影覆盖法和投影覆盖概率对新疆天山地区不同构造地貌类型进行了分形与多重分形特征的研究。结果表明:在所研究的标度范围内,不同地貌区均表现出明显的多度域分形,分维值总体上呈现出高山区>中低山区>盆地区特点,多重分形谱Dq的形态和值域范围也表现出不同特征。研究认为,地貌表面的分维值与地貌形成的内外力地质作用方式和强度密切相关,并提出5-6km的尺度可作为地貌学研究中宏观与微观作用的分界点。  相似文献

祁连县俄博乡土圈沟、大擦汗沟、柯柯里等剖面的粉砂岩、砂质页岩、泥质页岩岩层之中,首次发现丰富的孢粉化石,计39属74种(其中包括1新种),疑源类8属9种。推出Verrucosisporites(8.6%)-Triadispora(2%)-Trematosphaeridium(7.2%)的孢粉组合。该孢粉组合面貌应归于中三叠世Anisian期。它的发现为该套地层的进一步研究与合理归属提供了最新成果。  相似文献

采用稳态比较法,对铁路碎石道碴层的导热系数进行了测试.试验在常温条件下,分别对底部加热及顶部加热两种情况进行了研究.结果表明:当碎石道碴层顶、底面之间的温差较小时,顶部加热及底部加热两种试验条件下测得的导热系数基本相同;而当碎石道碴层顶、底面温差较大时,底部加热条件下的导热系数明显地大于顶部加热条件下的导热系数.在底部加热条件下,碎石道碴层的导热系数随温差的增大而逐渐增大.碎石道碴层具有吸热和放热条件下传热的不对称性,合理地利用碎石道碴层的这一传热特性,可望对路基下多年冻土起到积极的保护作用。  相似文献

宝库河韧性剪切带是发育在中祁连地块北缘上的一条向北陡倾,走向近东西,宽约6 km的右行平移型韧性剪切带.剪切带内岩石原岩为泥质岩、基性岩和花岗岩,变质程度达角闪岩相,变形变质温度在685~763±46℃之间,压力在0.62~0.83±0.13 GPa范围内.其内长英质条带非常发育,规模变化较大,分布局部相对集中且受剪切带控制,走向与剪切带一致,平行于叶理,孤立无根,并在后期递进变形过程中发生不同程度的糜棱岩化、布丁化和褶皱,主要成分为长石和石英,明显不同于韧性剪切前或后侵入的花岗岩脉或岩体.长英质条带特征、REE配分模式及剪切带内岩石的变形变质温度说明剪切带内发育的长英质条带与基体是同源的,是在剪切应变过程中剪切热使围岩内部分物质发生动态熔融形成的,是同构造熔融作用的产物.  相似文献

There are many thrust-related structures occurring in the Paleozoic strata of the Niushou Mountain in the central part of Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region. The fault-related folds are the typical structures in this area. Based on the analysis about these structures and their relationships, the processes by which these structures of the Miboshan Formation were formed are reconstructed, and the strata underwent about three stages of deformation: (1) horizontal shortening, (2) folding, and (3) thrusting. And the fact that the Niushou Mountain is the leading edge of an old thrust sheet was proved, the Niushou Mountain, the Daluo Mountain and the Xiaoluo Mountain together constitute the front part of this old thrust zone, so the Niushou Mountain and the Ordovician strata in the central and southern parts of Ningxia now are likely allochthons. In the period from middle Ordovician to Devonian, the areas of the central and southern Ningxia belonged to the back-arc foreland basin of North Qilianshan orogen, which was adjacent to the continent in the north. In the later part of the early Paleozoic period, the Niushou Mountain was formed after the closure of the back-arc foreland basin.  相似文献

Abstract. The Ta'ergou tungsten deposit in Gansu province, northwestern China, is located in the western part of the North Qilian Caledonian orogen, and consists of scheelite skarn bodies and wolframite quartz veins. The tungsten‐bearing skarn developed by the replacement of carbonate layers intercalated in the Precambrian schist and amphibolite whereas wolframite‐quartz ore veins developed along a group of fractures that cut through horizontal skarns. The Ta'ergou tungsten deposit is genetically related to the Caledonian Yeniutan granodiorite intrusion and occurs ca. 500 m wide in the exo‐contact zone 300 ~ 500 m apart from the intrusion. The granodiorite displays a lower grade of differentiation, low content of SiO2 and high contents of mafic components. There are three types of fluid inclusions in the wolframite‐quartz vein systems, i. e. aqueous, CO2‐H2O and CO2‐rich. The homogenization temperature of aqueous inclusion ranges from 140 to 380d?C and their salinities from 6.4 to 17.4 equivalent wt% NaCl. Laser Raman spectroscopy shows that the inclusions contain a relatively high content of CO2. The δ34S values of skarn type sulfides range from +8.1 to +12.7 per mil and those of quartz vein sulfides from +9.3 to +14.9 per mil, similar to sulfides of the granodiorite with from +6.0 to +11.7 per mil. The δ18O values of quartz are between +10.5 and +13.3 per mil and those of wolframite between +3.4 and +5.1 per mil. The δ18O water values of ore forming fluids range from +0.6 to +6.4 per mil and suggest the mixture of magmatic fluids with meteoric water formed the ore‐forming fluids. It has been proved that Precambrian strata in the west sector of North Qilian region are enriched in tungsten. We propose the strata were remelted to be tungsten‐granitoid during subduction. The polymetallic tungsten was gradually accumulated into the roof pendants of the granite intrusion by fractional crystallization and then was deposited by hydrothermal fluids during metasomatism and infilling along fractures. On the other hand, the granite intrusion also acted as “heating machine” to make hydrothermal fluids leach out the metals from Precambrian strata and these metals joined the ore‐forming hydrothermal system.  相似文献
