Floe breakup dynamics are studied by a sediment transport numerical model in an idealized tidal estuary that has a constant water depth and rapid flocculation of cohesive sediments. The focus is placed on the effects of boundary layer stratification induced by a bottom nepheloid layer on floe breakup and size distribution in the water column. In a neutrally stratified estuary, the floe size distribution follows a parabolic function with maximum values at the surface and bottom. The sediment-induced stratification in the bottom boundary layer increases the median floe sizes. Furthermore, sediment-voided convection caused by the settling lutocline generates significant turbulent kinetic energy dissipation and reduces floe size at the depth where the convective mixing happens. Below that depth, a weak local maxima in the floe size is predicted due to presence of the lutocline. The effect of sediment-stratified bottom boundary layer on the floe breakup can be consistently approximated by a linear regression between the maximal floe size and flux Richardson number.  相似文献

在科技部的支持下, 中国在1998年加入国际大洋钻探计划(International Ocean Drilling Program, IODP), 迄今为止已组织了4+1个航次的大洋钻探。通过IODP-CPP (complimentary proposal project)项目, 我国科学家主导完成了349、367/368/368X多个钻探航次, 实现了对南海张裂—破裂—扩张发育历史的钻探和取样, 对南海生命史的研究起到了重要的约束作用。本文系统总结了367/368/368X航次在南海北部洋陆过渡带钻探取得的最新成果, 证实南海北部陆缘不同于伊比利亚型陆缘, 具有陆洋转换迅速的特点, 洋陆过渡带地壳内有一定程度的同张裂岩浆侵入和底侵。钻探航次在科学上取得了巨大的成功, 钻探结果提升了对陆洋转换过程和机制的认识。航次期间, 广泛而深入的国际交流与合作极大提升了中国科学家对钻探平台管理、国际大团队合作管理以及人才培养和科普互动等各方面的认识, 加快了中国海洋科考国际化的步伐。  相似文献

特提斯喜马拉雅地层中广泛分布早白垩世火山碎屑岩,但对这套火山碎屑岩的源区缺乏有力的约束。在特提斯喜马拉雅中西段仲巴地区白垩系日朗组地层中发现一套玄武岩夹层,该玄武岩为碱性玄武岩,表现为LREE富集的分布型式,与典型的OIB和区域上的板内玄武岩类似。玄武岩Nb含量介于下地壳与上地壳之间,Th含量略低于下地壳,具有较高的Th/Nb比值和较低的Ce/Pb,指示岩浆在演化过程中遭受了一定程度的地壳混染,与雅鲁藏布蛇绿岩混杂岩带中的海山明显不同。构造环境判别图解显示玄武岩形成于大陆板内裂谷环境,结合日朗组地层沉积环境的分析,该玄武岩可能为日朗组火山碎屑岩提供物源。  相似文献

作为伸展陆壳和正常洋壳之间重要的过渡和衔接,洋陆转换带(ocean-continent transition,简写为OCT)蕴含有丰富的地壳岩石圈伸展破裂过程的信息。文中通过系统的资料调研,在总结OCT研究历史、现状和发展趋势的基础上,阐明了OCT的现代概念、类型及其识别标志;详细介绍了以OCT为基础而建立的被动陆缘地壳岩石圈结构构造单元划分方案、表层沉积盆地构造地层格架及重要的构造变革界面特征;分析了大型拆离断层在地壳岩石圈薄化、地幔剥露过程中的控制作用;揭示了陆缘变形集中、迁移和叠合的规律,建立了被动陆缘岩石圈伸展、薄化、剥露和裂解模式。最后,论文对比了国际非岩浆型被动大陆边缘与我国南海OCT的研究,介绍了南海OCT和陆缘深水超深水盆地研究的新发现,提出深入研究南海OCT将为南海陆缘构造演化、洋盆扩张过程和深水超深水盆地的成因机制研究提供新的启示。  相似文献

Volcanism associated with the Kerguelen Large Igneous Province is found scattered in southwestern Australia (the ca 136 to ca 130 Ma Bunbury Basalts, and ca 124 Ma Wallaby Plateau), India (ca 118 Ma Rajmahal Traps and Cona Basalts), and Tibet (the ca 132 Ma Comei Basalts), but apart from the ~70 000 km2 Wallaby Plateau, these examples are spatially and volumetrically minor. Here, we report dredge, geochronological and geochemical results from the ~90 000 km2 Naturaliste Plateau, located ~170 to ~500 km southwest of Australia. Dredged lavas and intrusive rocks range from mafic to felsic compositions, and prior geophysical analyses indicate these units comprise much of the plateau substrate. 40Ar/39Ar plagioclase ages from mafic units and U–Pb zircon ages from silicic rocks indicate magmatic emplacement from 130.6 ± 1.2 to 129.4 ± 1.3 Ma for mafic rocks and 131.8 ± 3.9 to 128.2 ± 2.3 Ma for silicic rocks (2σ). These Cretaceous Naturaliste magmas incorporated a significant component of continental crust, with relatively high 87Sr/86Sr (up to 0.78), high 207Pb/204 Pb ratios (15.5–15.6), low 143Nd/144Nd (0.511–0.512) and primitive-mantle normalised Th/Nb of 11.3 and La/Nb of 3.97. These geochemical results are consistent with the plateau being underlain by continental basement, as indicated by prior interpretations of seismic and gravity data, corroborated by dredging of Mesoproterozoic granites and gneisses on the southern plateau flank. The Cretaceous Naturaliste Plateau igneous rocks have signatures indicative of extraction from a depleted mantle, with trace-element and isotopic values that overlap with Kerguelen Plateau lavas reflect crustal contamination. Our chemical and geochronological results therefore show the Naturaliste Plateau contains evidence of an extensive igneous event representing some of the earliest voluminous Kerguelen hotspot magmas. Prior work reports that contemporaneous correlative volcanic sequences underlie the nearby Mentelle Basin, and the Enderby Basin and Princess Elizabeth Trough in the Antarctic. When combined, the igneous rocks in the Naturaliste, Mentelle, Wallaby, Enderby, Princess Elizabeth, Bunbury and Comei-Cona areas form a 136–124 Ma Large Igneous Province covering >244 000 km2.  相似文献

The stratospheric polar vortex breakup (SPVB) is an important phenomenon closely related to the seasonal transition of stratospheric circulation. In this paper, 62-year NCEP/NCAR reanalysis data were employed to investigate the distinction between early and late SPVB. The results showed that the anomalous circulation signals extending from the stratosphere to the troposphere were reversed before and after early SPVB, while the stratospheric signals were consistent before and after the onset of late SPVB. Arctic Oscillation (AO) evolution during the life cycle of SPVB also demonstrated that the negative AO signal can propagate downward after early SPVB. Such downward AO signals could be identified in both geopotential height and temperature anomalies. After the AO signal reached the lower troposphere, it influenced the Aleutian Low and Siberian High in the troposphere, leading to a weak winter monsoon and large-scale warming at mid latitudes in Asia. Compared to early SPVB, downward propagation was not evident in late SPVB. The high-latitude tropospheric circulation in the Northern Hemisphere was affected by early SPVB, causing it to enter a summer circulation pattern earlier than in late SPVB years.  相似文献

班公湖?怒江结合带西段班公湖地区蛇绿岩组合较为完整,由超镁铁质岩、镁铁质堆晶岩、辉绿岩脉、铁镁质熔岩、放射虫硅质岩等组成。这套蛇绿岩所代表的洋盆打开时间一直争论不休。该蛇绿岩中MOR型辉长岩的LA-ICP-MS锆石U-Pb定年显示,18个测点的~(206)Pb/~(238)U加权平均年龄为231.5±2.6 Ma,代表了辉长岩的结晶年龄。地球化学分析表明辉长岩SiO_2含量在46.12%~47.85%之间,TiO_2(1.52%~1.71%),具低的K_2O(0.19%~0.25%)、Al_2O_3(12.97%~13.51%)和Fe_2O_3/FeO比值(0.19~0.24);微量元素蛛网图与洋中脊玄武岩类似,Zr、Nb、Ta、Hf丰度与N-MORB相当或略高,相对富集Ba、Pb、Sr等大离子亲石元素,无Ta-Nb负异常,在基性岩构造环境判别图上显示出洋脊玄武岩的亲合性;REE配分曲线具有平缓型特点,介于E-MORB与N-MORB之间;各种地球化学特征与洋脊玄武岩类似,表明该辉长岩是在班公湖洋盆扩张阶段形成的。结合前人研究成果,本文认为班公湖中特提斯洋盆初始打开时间至少为中三叠世。  相似文献

Based on the former workers study results such as numerical simulation of fluid mechanics,seismic tomography of the whole earth and igneous rocks,the basic characteristics of mantle plumes are summarized in detail,namely the mantle plume,from the D″layer near the core-mantle bouundary(CMB)of 2900 km deep,is characterized by the spape of large head and thin narrow conduit,by the physical property of high temperature and low viscosity.The LIP(large igneous province)is the best exhibition when the mantle plume ascends to the surface.According to the basic characteristics of the mantle plumes and the LIP,as well as the temporal-spatial relationships between the mantle plume and continental breakup,the detailed research on petrology,geochemistry,temporal-spatial distribution,tectonic background of the Cenozoic-Mesozoic igneous rocks and gravity anomaly distribution in East China has been done.As a result,the Mesozoic igneous rocks in Southeast China should not be regarded as an example of typical LIP related to mantle plumes.for their related characteristics are not consitent with those of the typical LIPs related to mantle plumes.The Cenozoic igneous rocks in Northeast China have no the typical characteristics of mantle plumes and hotspots,so the Cenozoic volcanism in Northeast China might have no the direct relationships with the activity of mantle plumes.  相似文献
