东太平洋洋隆Siqueiros转换断层带(西经103°~104°、北纬8°20′~8°30′),位于中美洲之西可可斯板块与太平洋板块交接处(图1)。该转换断层的玄武岩,成分从原始的到富化的,变化很大。最原始的玄武岩产于A-B走滑断层内,其MgO含量高达14.91%;最富化的玄武岩产在西部洋脊与转换断层交叉部位,其MgO含量较低,成分变化大。转换断层内的洋中脊玄武岩可分三类:富化的洋脊玄武岩(E-MORB)、原始的正常洋脊玄武岩(PrimitiveN-MORB)和正常洋脊玄武岩(N-MORB)。Siqueiros转换断层区已确定有两个地幔源:一个位于转换断层西部下面的富集地幔,其特点是稀土总量高,富轻稀土,低MgO、K2O和TiO2,而高87Sr/86Sr;另一个是位于转换断层中-东部下面的亏损地幔,来自这个地幔源的玄武岩具有低87Sr/86Sr、低稀土元素和微量元素含量,但MgO含量较高。 相似文献

We have considered the influence of ocean temperature and salinity changes, mass changes of the Greenland ice sheet (GIS) and the isostatic response of the solid earth to the most recent glacial cycle on 20th century sea-level change along the US east coast with the intention of better understanding the observed signal as well as determining the potential of the tide gauge data for constraining the recent (past 50–100 yr) mass balance of the GIS and earth viscosity structure. Our results show that the signal due to steric changes is large and displays a complex spatial variation which can account for a significant portion of the observed signal. In contrast, that due to changes in the GIS is relatively small and insensitive to the specific geometry of the mass balance model adopted. As a consequence, the tide gauge data alone are not capable of providing useful constraints on either the magnitude or form of recent GIS mass balance. Our inference of mantle viscosity structure based on the tide gauge data was affected dramatically when the steric effect was accounted for: An earth model with an upper mantle viscosity of 8 × 1019 Pa s and a lower mantle viscosity of 5 × 1022 Pa s produced the best fit to the steric-corrected data; the optimal fit to the uncorrected data was obtained for upper and lower mantle viscosities of 5 × 1020 Pa s and 1022 Pa s, respectively. 相似文献

Early Cretaceous gabbroic rocks from the Taihang Mountains: Implications for a paleosubduction-related lithospheric mantle beneath the central North China Craton 总被引:20,自引:0,他引:20
SHRIMP zircon U–Pb ages and geochemical and Sr–Nd–Pb isotopic data are presented for the gabbroic intrusive from the southern Taihang Mountains to characterize the nature of the Mesozoic lithospheric mantle beneath the central North China Craton (NCC). The gabbroic rocks emplaced at 125 Ma and are composed of plagioclase (40–50%), amphibole (20–30%), clinopyroxene (10–15%), olivine (5–10%) and biotite (5–7%). Olivines have high MgO (Fo = 78–85) and NiO content. Clinopyroxenes are high in MgO and CaO with the dominant ones having the formula of En42–46Wo41–50Fs8–13. Plagioclases are dominantly andesine–labradorite (An = 46–78%) and have normal zonation from bytownite in the core to andesine in the rim. Amphiboles are mainly magnesio and actinolitic hornblende, distinct from those in the Precambrian high-pressure granulites of the NCC. These gabbroic rocks are characterized by high MgO (9.0–11.04%) and SiO2 (52.66–55.52%), and low Al2O3, FeOt and TiO2, and could be classified as high-mg basaltic andesites. They are enriched in LILEs and LREEs, depleted in HFSEs and HREEs, and exhibit (87Sr/86Sr)i = 0.70492–0.70539, εNd(t) = − 12.47–15.07, (206Pb/204Pb)i = 16.63–17.10, Δ8/4 = 70.1–107.2 and Δ7/4 = − 2.1 to − 9.4, i.e., an EMI-like isotopic signatures. Such geochemical features indicate that these early Cretaceous gabbroic rocks were originated from a refractory pyroxenitic veined-plus-peridotite source previously modified by an SiO2-rich melt that may have been derived from Paleoproterozoic subducted crustal materials. Late Mesozoic lithospheric extension might have induced the melting of the metasomatised lithospheric mantle in response to the upwelling of the asthenosphere to generate these gabbroic rocks in the southern Taihang Mountains. 相似文献

The main aim of the TOR project is to study the lithospheric–asthenospheric boundary structure under the Sorgenfrei–Tornquist Zone, across northern Germany, Denmark and southern Sweden. Relative arrival-time residuals of teleseismic P and S phases from 51 earthquakes, recorded by 150 seismic stations along the TOR array, were used to delineate the transition zone in the studied area. The effects of crustal structures were investigated by correcting the teleseismic residuals for travel-time variations in the crust based on a 3D crustal model derived from other data. The inversion was carried out for S phases. The results were then compared with the corresponding P-wave models. As expected, the derived models show that the relatively old and cold Baltic Shield has higher velocity at depth than the younger lithosphere farther South. The models show two sharp and distinct increases in depth to velocities which are low compared to our reference model, as we move from South to North. The location and sharpness of these boundaries suggests that the features resolved are, at least partially, compositional in origin, presumably related to mantle depletion. A sharp and steep subcrustal boundary is found roughly coincident with the southern edge of Sweden. This is below where the edge of the Baltic Shield is usually placed, based on surface geological evidence (the Sorgenfrei–Tornquist Zone). Another less significant transition is recognised more or less beneath the Elbe-lineament. Relatively high d(Vp / Vs) ratios under the central part of the profile (Denmark) indicate relatively low S-velocity in an area where a gravity high supports the hypothesis of extensive mafic intrusions. 相似文献

We report Sr, Nd, and Pb isotope compositions for 17 bulk-rocksamples from the submarine Hana Ridge, Haleakala volcano, Hawaii,collected by three dives by ROV Kaiko during a joint JapanUSHawaiian cruise in 2001. The Sr, Nd, and Pb isotope ratios forthe submarine Hana Ridge lavas are similar to those of Kilauealavas. This contrasts with the isotope ratios from the subaerialHonomanu lavas of the Haleakala shield, which are similar toMauna Loa lavas or intermediate between the Kilauea and MaunaLoa fields. The observation that both the Kea and Loa componentscoexist in individual shields is inconsistent with the interpretationthat the location of volcanoes within the Hawaiian chain controlsthe geographical distribution of the Loa and Kea trend geochemicalcharacteristics. Isotopic and trace element ratios in Haleakalashield lavas suggest that a recycled oceanic crustal gabbroiccomponent is present in the mantle source. The geochemical characteristicsof the lavas combined with petrological modeling calculationsusing trace element inversion and pMELTS suggest that the meltingdepth progressively decreases in the mantle source during shieldgrowth, and that the proportion of the recycled oceanic gabbroiccomponent sampled by the melt is higher in the later stagesof Hawaiian shields as the volcanoes migrate away from the centralaxis of the plume. An idealised three-dimensional numerical model of the Rhine region of fresh water influence (ROFI) was set up to explore the effect of stratification on the vertical structure of the tidal currents. Prandle’s dynamic Ekman layer model, in the case of zero-depth-averaged, cross-shore velocities, was first used to validate the response of the numerical model in the case of barotropic tidal flow. Prandle’s model predicted rectilinear tidal currents with an ellipse veering of up to 2%. The behaviour of the Rhine ROFI in response to both a neap and a spring tide was then investigated. For the given numerical specifications, the Rhine plume region was well mixed over the vertical on spring tide and stratified on neap tide. During spring conditions, rectilinear tidal surface currents were found along the Dutch coast. In contrast, during neap conditions, significant cross-shore currents and tidal straining were observed. Prandle’s model predicted ellipse veering of 50%, and was found to be a good indicator of ellipticity magnitude as a function of bulk vertical eddy viscosity. The modelled tidal ellipses showed that surface currents rotated anti-cyclonically whereas bottom currents rotated cyclonically. This caused a semi-diurnal cross-shore velocity shearing which was 90° out of phase with the alongshore currents. This cross-shore shear subsequently acted on the horizontal density gradient in the plume, thereby causing a semi-diurnal stratification pattern, with maximum stratification around high water. The same behaviour was exhibited in simulations of a complete spring–neap tidal cycle. This showed a pattern of recurring stratification on neaps and de-stratification on springs, in accordance with observations collected from field campaigns in the 1990’s. To understand the increase in ellipticities to 30% during neaps and the precise shape of the vertical ellipse structure, stratification has to be taken into account. Here, a full three-dimensional numerical model was employed, and was found to represent the effect of de-coupling of the upper and lower layers due to a reduction of mixing at the pycnocline. 相似文献

位于大兴安岭-太行山重力梯度带西侧的阳原新生代玄武岩中含有大量橄榄岩和辉石岩包体。辉石岩包体含有绿色的Cr辉石岩和黑色的Al辉石岩包体两种类型,均为二辉岩,且多数样品中单斜辉石含量高于斜方辉石。岩石结构和主微量元素组成说明阳原辉石岩是高压堆晶体。其EMI型Sr-Nd同位素特征,明显不同于寄主玄武岩,暗示两者没有成因联系,而可能代表古老岩浆事件的产物。综合文献资料发现重力梯度带西侧的辉石岩包体大多具有富集同位素特征,而东侧的样品以亏损同位素组成为主。这种空间上的成分差异暗示重力梯度带分隔两个不同的地幔域,也可能与重力梯度带两侧岩石圈地幔形成时代不同有关。 相似文献

对比研究了辽西阜新碱锅和内蒙古平庄含地幔捕虏体的阜新组玄武岩与碱锅义县组的安山岩,并结合前人的同位素年代学研究,确认在早白垩世117—106Ma期间,该区火山岩岩浆来源从富集的岩石圈地幔转变成亏损的软流圈地幔.即岩浆作用从以壳幔相互作用为主转化成软流圈的底辟体上升。将岩浆来源的巨大变化与前人关于古地磁和白垩纪超静磁带的研究成果以及研究区脊椎动物群集群死亡事件联系起来,认为这是一次重要的岩石圈圈层结构被扰动的事件。通过区域对比,发现阜新、平庄岩浆源区从富集地幔向亏损地幔转化的事件同样存在于山东沂水以及松辽盆地。而且岩浆来源转化的时间大体一致,均发生在100~80Ma前后。根据前人提供的小比例尺的三维面波速度结构,推断中国东部软流圈物质沿着构造薄弱带上涌,使岩石圈发生局部扰动的起始时问可能是晚中生代100Ma,由于各地构造差异它们可以表现为若干软流圈上涌的底辟体。 相似文献
