Earlier solutions (Bull. Seismol. Soc. Amer. 1985; 75 :1135–1154; Bull. Seismol. Soc. Amer. 1992; 82 :1018–1040) of deformations caused by the movements of a shear or tensile fault in an isotropic half-space for finite rectangular sources of strain nucleus have been extended for a transversely isotropic half-space. Results of integrating previous solutions (Int. J. Numer. Anal. Meth. Geomech. 2001; 25 (10): 1175–1193) of deformations due to a shear or tensile fault in a transversely isotropic half-space for point sources of strain nucleus over the fault plane are presented. In addition, a boundary element (BEM) model (POLY3D:A three-dimensional, polygonal element, displacement discontinuity boundary element computer program with applications to fractures, faults, and cavities in the Earth's crust. M.S. Thesis, Stanford University, Department of Geology, 1993; 62) is given. Different from similar researches (e.g. Thomas), the Akaike's view on Bayesian statistics (Akaike Information Criterion Statistics. D. Reidel Publication: Dordrecht, 1986) is applied for inverting deformations due to a fault to obtain displacement discontinuities on the fault plane. An example is given for checking displacements predicted by proposed analytical expressions. Another example is generated for the use of proposed BEM model. Small Waterplane Area Twin Hulls (SWATHs) are known to have superior seakeeping performance but higher resistance compared to equivalent catamarans or mono-hulls. A way to improve their resistance characteristics is to use unconventional hull forms parametrically defined and optimized by CFD methods. This study builds on previous SWATH optimization studies proposing a comprehensive, systematic investigation on the effect of different shapes and canting angles of the struts. For the first time we demonstrate the importance of considering the shape of the strut that is fully parametrized in our study. The effect of the design speed on the best shape is addressed through a multi-objective optimization targeting the minimum total resistance at two very different speeds, namely the cruise and slow transfer speeds. Optimum hull shapes are discussed in terms of maximum resistance reduction, together with the predicted free waves patterns. 相似文献

The research herein primarily addresses to geomechanical problems of underground constructions in Mining and Civil Engineering. The problems are solved using the Indirect Boundary Element Method (IBEM). Although the geometry of the constructions themselves is usually very complicated, it will become much more complicated if we were to draw the existing joints. The computational problem therefore is how to deal with huge amount of equations and find out efficient methods of their formation and solution keeping in mind restraints of the computer memory and calculation time. Several approaches are used to enhance the performance of the Indirect Boundary Element Method. One of them deals with application of efficient equation solvers. It is shown that Krylov-type methods like CGS and GMRES with simple Jacoby preconditioning appear to be efficient and robust. In addition, adaptive integration on the boundary elements, together with diagonal dominance of equationsmake it possible to accelerate convergence of the iterative procedure. Some of the problems discussed allow a substantial reduction of matrix entries that leads to a very cheap iterative solution keeping reasonable accuracy of the results. © 1998 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd. 相似文献

建立了可覆盖全频域的浮式生产储油船(FPSO,floating production storage and offloading)工作环境下振动噪声混合数值预报技术流程。将声学计算基本理论方法(有限元/边界元方法与统计能量法)应用于宽频带多噪声源的海洋工程船舶设计中,为设计能保证人员正常进行生产、生活噪声环境下的FPSO提供指导,满足国内船舶设计部门对该技术的迫切需要。文中采用声学边界元求解了FPSO上层建筑低中频域振动噪声,采用统计能量分析方法求解了高频域振动噪声,通过两种方法接力运用和不同模型间的顺利转换,实现了FPSO声学问题全频域分析。并讨论了各类方法的适用范围。 相似文献

Marine propellers usually operate in a spatially nonuniform wake and then the propeller exciting forces are produced. These exciting forces will cause serious hull vibration and noise radiation. So, there are many researches on the exciting forces of propellers. However, the effects of the shaft and blade elasticity are ignored in most studies. Therefore, firstly, considered the effects of the shaft and blade elasticity, a fluid–structure interaction dynamic model of the fluid-propeller-shaft system is established by coupled BEM and FEM. Then, based on this model, the characteristics of axial exciting force and theirs transmission mechanism to the hull via the shaft are studied. The research results show that first, there are two kinds of vibration modes for blade bending vibration: global mode and local mode. The elastic coupling effect between the blade and the shafting only affects the global mode, but hardly affects the local mode of the blade. Secondly, during the transmission of axial exciting force to the hull through the blades and shafting, only the global mode of the blades can amplify it, while the local mode cannot. These studies could provide a guideline for the optimal design of the propeller-shaft system to make the exciting force transmitted to the ship hull via the shafting be the smallest. 相似文献

水声信道的多径时延扩展和时变特性对信道估计和均衡技术的研究带来了很大的挑战,同时也决定了水声信道是一种时频双扩展信道,提出一种水声OFDM通信系统中基于软信息的迭代信道估计技术,利用基于复指数基扩展模型(CE-BEM)进行信道估计。OFDM系统本身可以消除由于多径引起的符号间干扰(ISI)。基于导频的BEM信道估计,可以实现对时变信道的估计,结合基于软信息迭代的迭代均衡模块,将每次迭代生成的符号软判决信息作为辅助导频用于信道估计。同时,为了防止由于信道时变引起的信道子载波间干扰(ICI)对导频符号的影响,采用基于保护间隔的导频插入法插入导频。仿真结果显示基于BEM的软信息迭代信道估计性能较非迭代信道估计时明显提升。 相似文献

Added mass and damping coefficients are very important in hydrodynamic analysis of naval structures. In this paper, a double submerged inclined plates with ‘/ \’ configuration is firstly considered. By use of the boundary element method (BEM) based on Green function with the wave term, the radiation problem of this special type structure is investigated. The added mass and damping coefficients due to different plate lengths and inclined angles are obtained. The results show that: the added mass and damping coefficients for sway are the largest. Heave is the most sensitive mode to inclined angles. The wave frequencies of the maximal added mass and damping coefficients for sway and roll are the same. 相似文献
