An improved rheology model, inspired from explicit experiments is conceived to represent rate-dependent cyclic shear behavior of high damping rubber bearings at subzero and room temperatures. Total stress has been decomposed into nonlinear rate independent elasto-plastic stress, nonlinear elastic stress and nonlinear visco-elasto-plastic overstress branches. To represent nonlinear viscosity behavior, ‘overstress branch’ has been generalized by putting linear elastic spring in parallel to nonlinear elasto-plastic model, placed in series with nonlinear dashpot. Constitutive relations for model elements have been designated for respective fundamental phenomenon observed in constant strain rate experiments. An optimum calculation approach is developed to determine a unique set of overstress parameters capable not only of representing constant strain rate cyclic tests but also sinusoidal tests with variable input strain rates. Essential abilities of the proposed model and adequacy of estimated parameters have been confirmed by comparing numerical simulation results with experiments conducted at −30 °C, −10 °C and 23 °C. 相似文献

On King George Island during latest Oligocene/earliest Miocene time, submarine eruptions resulted in the emplacement of a
small (ca. 500 m estimated original diameter) basalt lava dome at Low Head. The dome contains a central mass of columnar rock
enveloped by fractured basalt and basalt breccia. The breccia is crystalline and is a joint-block deposit (lithic orthobreccia)
interpreted as an unusually thick dome carapace breccia cogenetic with the columnar rock. It was formed in situ by a combination
of intense dilation, fracturing and shattering caused by natural hydrofracturing during initial dome effusion and subsequent
endogenous emplacement of further basalt melt, now preserved as the columnar rock. Muddy matrix with dispersed hyaloclastite
and microfossils fills fractures and diffuse patches in part of the fractured basalt and breccia lithofacies. The sparse glass-rich
clasts formed by cooling-contraction granulation during interaction between chilled basalt crust and surrounding water. Together
with muddy sediment, they were injected into the dome by hydrofracturing, local steam fluidisation and likely explosive bulk
interaction. The basalt lava was highly crystallised and degassed prior to extrusion. Together with a low effusion temperature
and rapid convective heat loss in a submarine setting, these properties significantly affected the magma rheology (increased
the viscosity and shear strength) and influenced the final dome-like form of the extrusion. Conversely, high heat retention
was favoured by the degassed state of the magma (minimal undercooling), a thick breccia carapace and viscous shear heating,
which helped to sustain magmatic (eruption) temperatures and enhanced the mobility of the flow.

A vertical 2-D water–mud numerical model is developed for estimating the rate of mud mass transport under wave action. A nonlinear semi-empirical rheology model featured by remarkable hysteresis loops in the relationships of the shear stress versus both the shear strain and the rate of shear strain of mud is applied to this water–mud model. A logarithmic grid in the vertical direction is employed for numerical treatment, which increases the resolution of the flow in the neighborhood of both sides of the interface. The disastrous Mw 9.3(seismic moment 1.0×1030 dyn/cm) earthquake that struck northwest Sumatra on 26 December 2004 and triggered~30 m high tsunami has rejuvenated the quest for identifying the forcing behind subduction related earthquakes around the world.Studies reveal that the strongest part(elastic core) of the oceanic lithosphere lie between 20 and 60 km depth beneath the upper (~7 km thick) crustal layer,and compressive stress of GPa order is required to fail the rock-layers within the core zone.Here we present evidences in favor of an intraplate origin of mega-earthquakes right within the strong core part(at the interface of semi-brittle and brittle zone),and propose an alternate model exploring the flexing zone of the descending lithosphere as the nodal area for major stress accumulation. We believe that at high confining pressure and elevated temperature,unidirectional cyclic compressive stress loading in the flexing zone results in an increase of material yield strength through strain hardening, which transforms the rheology of the layer from semi-brittle to near-brittle state.The increased compressive stress field coupled with upward migration of the neutral surface(of zero stress fields) under noncoaxial deformation triggers shear crack.The growth of the shear crack is initially confined in the near-brittle domain,and propagates later through the more brittle crustal part of the descending oceanic lithosphere in the form of cataclastic failure. 相似文献

高温高压条件下实验变形石英闪长岩微观结构与熔体特征研究 总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
本文以高温高压条件下石英闪长岩流变实验样品为研究对象,利用偏光显微镜进行微观结构观察,研究了样品在实验温度压力条件下的变形机制与斜长石结构对流变强度的影响;通过透射电镜能谱与电子探针,分析了熔体分布和成分特征,讨论了角闪石脱水熔融的影响因素与脱水熔融对岩石流变的影响。结果表明,随着温度升高,岩石从脆塑性过渡域逐渐向高温位错攀移和动态重结晶为主的塑性域转化。在高温条件下,角闪石出现了脱水与部分熔融,脱水熔融的熔体分布和成分体现出非均匀与非平衡熔融的特点,空间分布上,熔体主要出现在角闪石和黑云母矿物颗粒的边缘以及角闪石和长石颗粒之间的区域内;成分分布上,熔体的成分与参与熔融的矿物成分密切相关。角闪石边缘的熔体和黑云母边缘的熔体具有低硅铝、高铁镁特征,斜长石边缘的熔体具有高硅铝、低铁镁的特征,处于角闪石和斜长石颗粒中间的熔体,其成分间于斜长石与角闪石成分之间。实验中出现的非平衡非均匀部分熔融可以解释混合岩中的浅色体与暗色体的成因,富硅熔体可以形成富硅铝的花岗质岩石,而贫硅富铁镁的熔体可以形成基性岩。角闪石的脱水熔融程度依赖于样品的封闭条件,处于封闭环境的样品,角闪石不易脱水熔融,而处于开放环境时,角闪石脱水熔融显著。拆离断层带及其附近具备这样的开放环境,有利于角闪石发生脱水熔融。实验力学数据和微观结构显示,随机分布的斜长石对岩石强度影响并不明显,但斜长石的长轴方向与最大主应力方向呈大角度相交(近90°)会显著强化岩石的强度,这意味着岩石组构与主应力方向大角度相交或呈垂直方向时,不利于岩石变形和拆离断层的形成,反之,均匀岩石或岩石组构与最大主应力方向小角度相交,有利于岩石的变形,容易发育拆离断层。 相似文献

利用高精度的Paterson高温高压流变仪对Carrara大理岩在高温(873~1173K)高压(~300MPa)以及约10-6~10-3s-1应变速率下进行了三轴压缩变形实验。结果表明,在等应变速率条件下,其强度随着温度的升高而降低;在等温和等压条件下,其强度随着应变速率的增加先快速增加而后缓慢增加。在应变速率对差应力的双对数投图中,我们发现随着温度的升高拟合直线的斜率减小,并且在873K和高应变速率时973K温度下Carrara大理岩的流变本构方程服从指数律变化关系;而在高温(1073K和1173K)和973K低应变速率条件下Carrara大理岩的应力指数n为5.3~7.7,且服从幂次律变化关系。因此,Carrara大理岩在本研究的实验条件下主要有两种变形机制,一种是用指数律表示的高应力变形机制;另一种是用幂次律表示的中等应力变形机制。 相似文献
