本文综合考虑居民点现状布局及相邻居民点间相互影响,以山西省晋城市为例,应用Voronoi图理论,依据熵值、聚类指数、标准差3个测度组合,将晋城市居民点划分为4种整理类型并绘制城乡用地布局等级图,结合2020年晋城市居民点用地规模预测值,进行晋城市居民点布局优化。结果显示,考虑居民点布局现状,利用Voronoi图理论及其聚合形态测度检验,为城乡居民点布局优化方案的提出提供了空间理论依据,是布局优化的直观方法。  相似文献

Agricultural chemicals are a notoriously intractable source of environmental pollution. Offering enhanced agricultural productivity, they simultaneously risk degrading the ecological basis upon which agriculture depends. This paper considers chemicalisation as a cause of the erosion of aquatic biodiversity and ecosystem resilience, focusing on the Hawkesbury-Nepean River and the small-scale horticulturalists who supply the city's fresh vegetable markets, working under the pressure of urbanisation, retail monopolies, indifferent land-use planning, and often without access to information about pesticide use in the languages they understand. Arguing that standard practices of ‘risk management’ are unable to adequately control chemical contamination, the paper presents findings from interviews with actors within the ‘assemblage’ of institutions with responsibility for agriculture, water quality, and environmental protection, in order to assess the effectiveness of pesticide governance in the Greater Sydney Basin. It appears that pesticide pollution is far from being tamed: it is rarely measured nor monitored, neither is it a priority of any particular agency. Arguing that public health, the long-term viability of local farming and the ecological well-being of the Hawkesbury-Nepean River are mutually consistent goals, we conclude that these vital elements of the common-weal are currently subject to a system of ‘organised irresponsibility’. Short-term international field study is an attractive alternative for many students to traditional, longer-term study abroad programs. We present a discussion of critical planning, administrative, and curricular elements related to the development and implementation of such courses. In doing so, we share a number of checklists and planning tools that other instructors may find helpful in the context of developing their own international field studies courses. Teaching Historical Geographies of American Film Production

Abstract

The geographies of Hollywood are multiple, contradictory, ephemeral and tangible. Our preconceived conceptions of space and place play a dynamic role in what elements we tend to focus on when discussing the cultural industry of American cinema. This essay uses Hollywood as a metaphor for the American film production industry and a historical geography of production as a framework to explore major spatial and structural changes within this industry from its inception to the present. It highlights teaching methods and materials from the course A Geography of Film at Southern Connecticut State University. Mode of production relates to the economic process where capital, labor, knowledge and imagination are blended to produce a culturalized product for consumption. Abstract

This article presents a family program that extends the materials and meeting times of the Michigan Model Family Geography Challenge, including suggestions on creating a successful family night program. The article focuses on developing positive school-community relationships by inviting local community members to participate in fun academic lessons. In addition to watching the news together nightly, families meet four times during an eight-week period to engage in hands-on geography related activities. One lesson is introduced during each session and families work together to complete assigned tasks. Following the activity, families join together to eat and socialize. The program enhances geographic knowledge (including current events), positive family interactions, and school outreach.  相似文献
