Studies of carbon sources in plankton communities are important because carbon content has become the main currency used in functional studies of aquatic ecosystems. We evaluated the contribution to the total organic carbon pool from different plankton communities (phytoplankton, bacterioplankton, and zooplankton – C-biota) and its drivers in eight tropical hydroelectric reservoirs with different trophic and hydrological status and different physical features. Our systems were separated into three groups based on trophic status and water residence time: (i) mesotrophic with low residence time (ML); (ii) mesotrophic with high residence time (MH); and (iii) eutrophic with low residence time (EL). Our hypothesis that reservoirs with low water residence times and low nutrient concentrations would show the lowest C-biota was supported. Phytoplankton carbon (C-phy) showed the highest concentrations in the EL, followed by MH and ML systems. The EL group also showed significantly higher zooplankton carbon (C-zoo). No significant difference was observed for bacteria carbon (C-bac) among the three system groups. In addition to trophic status and water residence time, regression analyses revealed that water temperature, light, pH, and dissolved organic carbon concentrations were the main drivers of plankton communities in these large tropical hydroelectric reservoirs.  相似文献

黑河下游绿洲植被优势种生物量空间分布及蒸腾耗水估算   总被引:2,自引:1,他引:1  
基于典型样点试验,建立了研究区植被优势种柽柳、胡杨与苦豆子地上生物量与其生态参数关系模型;利用高分辨率遥感影像Geoeye-1对植被优势种进行分类得到生态参数,实现了其地上部分生物量空间分布估算;最后利用生物量与蒸腾系数关系,估算植被优势种蒸腾耗水。结果显示:植被优势种总生物量为2.53×106t,河流距离对生物量影响显著。根据试验测得的植被优势种蒸腾系数估算出总蒸腾耗水量为10.89×108t,柽柳、胡杨与苦豆子所占比例分别为12.94%,82.93%与4.13%。  相似文献

To understand and predict the role of soils in changes in alpine meadow ecosystems during climate warming, soil monoliths, extending from the surface to the deepest roots, were collected from Carex moorcroftii, Kobresia humilis, mixed grass, and Kobresia pygmaea alpine meadows in the hinterland of the Tibetan Plateau, China. The monoliths were used to measure the distribution with depth of biomass, soil grain size, soil nutrient levels, and soil moisture. With the exception of the K. pygmaea meadow, the percentages of gravel and coarse sand in the soils were high, ranging from 37.7 to 57.8% for gravel, and from 18.7 to 27.9% for coarse sand. The texture was finest in the upper 10 cm soil layer, and generally became coarser with increasing depth. Soil nutrients were concentrated in the top 15 cm soil layer, especially in the top 10 cm. Soil water content was low, ranging from 3 to 28.4%. Most of the subsurface biomass was in the top 10 cm, with concentrations of 79.8% in the K. humilis meadow, 77.6% in the mixed grass meadow, and 62.3% in the C. moorcroftii meadow. Owing to deeper root penetration, the concentration of subsurface biomass in the upper 10 cm of K. pygmaea soil was only 41.7%. The subsurface biomass content decreased exponentially with depth; this is attributed to the increase in grain size and decrease in soil nutrient levels with depth. Soil water is not a primary factor influencing the vertical and spatial distribution of subsurface biomass in the study area. The lack of fine material and of soil nutrients resulted in low surficial and subsurface biomass everywhere.  相似文献

Transport of seston (suspended sediment) in Pelorus Sound is controlled by tides and freshwater inflow. During high freshwater inflow, a moderately stratified estuarine circulation may be superimposed on the tidal circulation, but the latter dominates and transports seston seawards and landwards with the ebb and flood phases respectively. With extreme freshwater inflow, the estuarine circulation gains impetus and most seston is rapidly transported seaward in the low saline surface layer.

Irrespective of circulation there is a persistent trend in seston concentrations. Highest values occur at the sound's head because of the influence of nearby Pelorus and Kaituna Rivers and because of resuspension of bottom sediment by strong tidal currents. Seston concentrations wane along the sound until near the entrance, where values increase as a result of greater production of biogenic seston and because additional seston is brought in from Cook Strait with the flood tide. This trend parallels variability in the thicknesses of muddy bottom sediments. Muds are thick at the head where an extensive delta extends from the river mouths; muds gradually thin seaward and then thicken markedly in the vicinity of the sound entrance.

Seston weight and composition patterns and 3.5 kHz seismic profiles indicate Pelorus Sound acts as a double‐ended sediment trap. The upper reaches receive and retain river‐derived seston, whereas the sound entrance traps seston derived from Cook Strait. This situation appears to hold for both high and extremely high influxes of sediment.  相似文献

Regression models are developed and presented to predict dry mass (mg) from two linear dimensions (mm) for 17 benthic macroinvertebrate taxa common to littoral zones of New Zealand lakes. We also provide regression models to predict body length from head capsule width for the major insect taxa. Dry mass was best explained as a power function of all linear dimensions: M = aL b .Parameters are presented in the log10‐transformed linear form of this power function. Body length was a simple linear function of head capsule width for all insect taxa, hence parameters for these models are presented as untransformed values. We also provide family level models for the Chironomidae, and compare our chironomid body length‐mass model with other published Chrionomidae length‐mass models. There was a very high degree of variability in parameter values among published length‐mass models for the family Chironomidae (mean coefficient of variation for mass at length = 148%). We discuss the potential causes and implications of this variability.  相似文献

为了解海南东寨港红树林区节肢动物多样性水平, 作者于2009 年12 月、2010 年3 月和7 月,对海南东寨港红树林区8 个采样点进行节肢动物群落调查, 共获得底栖节肢动物34 种, 隶属2 纲14科; 方蟹科和沙蟹科是主要类群, 其中双齿近相手蟹(Perisesarma bidens)、原足虫(Kalliapseudes tomiokaensis)和锯眼泥蟹(Ilyoplax serrata)为优势种; 不同潮滩间节肢动物的栖息密度差异不显著, 但生物量差异显著; 不同季节间节肢动物的栖息密度和生物量差异显著; 物种种数S、Margalef 丰富度指数d、Shannon-Wiener 物种多样性指数H′和Pielou 均匀性指数J 皆表现为冬季<春季<夏季。  相似文献

A sound reflection system for obtaining profiles of sedimentary structures in shelf and slope depths to 500 m has been developed, based on an Edgerton 1 kJ boomer as sound source. A logarithmic response receiver allows optimal recording of signals over a wide dynamic range. Penetrations of up to 500 m have been obtained from structures within both unconsolidated sediments and folded lower Tertiary structures. The equipment works reliably at speeds up to 9 knots.  相似文献

在江苏盐城新洋港滩涂由海向陆建立样地:零星米草斑块(SAP)、稳定米草滩下边缘(SAFI)、2003年米草定居处(SAF03)、1989年米草定居处(SAF89),对互花米草(Spartina alterniflora)的生物量动态变化进行了研究。结果表明:1)除SAF03样地外,其他样地互花米草叶生物量随时间的推移都有不同程度的减少,SAF03叶生物量始终都显著高于其他样地(P<0.05);各样地茎和繁殖器官生物量均有所增加,繁殖前期SAFI处茎生物量增长最快,达18.97g.m2.d-1;离海越近繁殖器官生物量增加越大;11月份SAF89样地各器官生物量顺序为:叶>茎>繁殖器官,其他样地:茎>叶>繁殖器官。2)各次调查中,随着时间的推移各样地叶生物量分配减少,而茎生物量与繁殖器官生物量分配增多;由陆向海各样地叶生物量分配减少,而茎生物量与繁殖器官生物量分配增加。3)SAFI处互花米草地下/地上生物量的比值为2.39,极显著高于其他样地(P<0.01)。  相似文献

根据根茎型克隆植物的特征,建立准噶尔无叶豆各构件单元生物量的模型。结果表明,准噶尔无叶豆的根茎生物量、根生物量、枝生物量和果实生物量分别是6.33、39.72、27.93 g·m-2和3.47 g·m-2。地上生物量所占比例为40.55%,小于地下生物量所占的比例59.45%。植株本身的高(H)、高与冠幅(C)的乘积(CH)与各部分生物量间的相关性很高;但C与各部分生物量间的相关性相对较低。在分析H、CH与各生物量相互关系的各种数学模型中,大多数模型有显著的相关性,选择其中相关显著性和R2值最高的模型,建立它们之间的相互关系模型。使用植株的CH所建立起来的线性数学模型对生物量的预测较好,为估算荒漠克隆灌木植物的生物量,提供个例物种的示范。  相似文献

水是荒漠生态系统中首要限制因子。由于水分限制程度不同,植物幼苗在生长过程中表现出不同的适应策略。在塔克拉玛干沙漠南缘的沙漠-绿洲过渡带,设计了0 mm(处理A)、100 mm(处理B)、200 mm(处理C)3种不同的灌溉量,对头状沙拐枣幼苗生长和生物量分配展开实验性研究。结果表明:①处理A比处理B和处理C地下生物量均有所增加;不同灌溉条件下,头状沙拐枣幼苗的根冠比均小于1,随灌溉量的减少头状沙拐枣幼苗的根冠比从0.19增加到0.32;即头状沙拐枣通过改变根系生物量分配适应水分条件变化。②随灌溉量的减少, 头状沙拐枣幼苗主根垂直深度和水平根幅均呈增加趋势。处理A时,头状沙拐枣幼苗根系深度达180 cm以上,处理B和C的根系深度均低于160 cm,表明头状沙拐枣幼苗通过根系的伸长生长来适应水分减少。③在生长过程中,头状沙拐枣通过老同化枝枯落适应土壤水分减少。④株高和冠幅随着灌溉量增加呈先增加后减小趋势,基径随着灌溉量的增加而增加,地上生长指标在不同处理间均无显著差异。  相似文献
