Study of interaction between intense internal wave solitons in the context of the Choi-Camassa model

Based on the approximated theory developed by the authors to describe the interaction of complex solitons that are formed by kinks, i.e., drops of fields of different polarity, the features of the dynamics of intense internal wave solitons are studied in the context of nonintegrable Choi-Camassa equations. These equations describe the evolution of long internal waves with arbitrary amplitudes in a two-layer fluid. Making allowance for the complex character of the limiting amplitude solitons made it possible to study the dynamics of their interaction as longitudinal (not pointlike) formations for the first time. A series of the features of soliton interaction caused by the complexity of their structure is discovered and explained. These include the appearance of solitary waves with opposite polarity in the collision process, anomalously large phase shifts, etc. The existence of these features is verified by numerical experiments in the context of internal wave models permitting the existence of complex solitons. 相似文献

Summary Some recent investigations of black shales reveal platinum-group element (PGE) concentrations in the ppm range. The low temperature nature of these mineralized sediments and their composition stimulated this first attempt to synthesize Pt- and Pd-phases in solutions at temperatures below 100°C under reducing conditions with H2S flow through the solution. Experiments under controlled Eh-pH with montmorillonite presaturated in Pd and Pt in different chloride solutions resulted in the formation of Pt- and Pd-sulphides. PtS- and PdS-stability fields are very close to each other in Eh-pH values (400mV, 9). These data are in good agreement with those determined for some base metal sulphides synthesized at similar temperature by other researchers.The results may support the role of clay minerals as possible concentrators for PGE in the sedimentary environment.

Zusammenfassung Neuere Untersuchungen der Schwarzschiefer ergeben Konzentrationen an Platingruppenelementen (PGE) in ppm-Bereich. Niedrigtemperatur-Bedingungen und die Zusammensetzung der mineralisierten Sedimente gaben den Anlaß zur erstmaligen Synthese von Pt- und Pd-Phasen in H2S-haltigen reduzierenden Lösungen bei Temperaturen unterhalb von 100°C. Bei Experimenten, die unter kontrollierten Eh-pH-Werten in unterschiedlichen Lösungen mit an Pd und Pt vorgesättigtem Montmorillonit durch-geführt wurden, konnte die Ausfällung von Pt- und Pd-Sulfiden nachgewiesen werden. Die Stabilitätsfelder der gebildeten PtS und PdS liegen nahe beieinander, bei Eh = 400 mV und pH = 9. Diese Bedingungen sind in Übereinstimmung mit den von anderen Autoren für einige Buntmetallsulfide bestimmten Daten unter ähnlichen Temperaturen.Die gewonnenen Ergebnisse bekräftigen die Rolle von Tonmineralen beim Absatz von PGE in sedimentärem Milieu.

The results of observations of the quasar J0530+1331 (B0528+134) with the radio telescopes RATAN-600 at frequencies of 4.6, 8.2, 11.2, 21.7 GHz and RT-32 at the Zelenchukskaya and Badary observatories of the Quasar network of the Institute of Applied Astronomy, the Russian Academy of Sciences, at frequencies of 4.84 and 8.57 GHz in 2014–2015 are presented. A strong variability on a timescale of 20 days at 4.6–11.2 GHz has been detected over three months of daily RATAN-600 observations; the variability indices are V = dS/〈S〉; = 0.65?0.39. The spectrum of the variable component is falling toward high frequencies with an index α = ?0.76. The structure and autocorrelation functions at 4.6 GHz show an additional process on a timescale of 7 days. No delay of the main process has been detected between 11.2 and 8.2 GHz; the delay between 8.2 and 4.6 GHz does not exceed two days. The most likely cause of the observed variability is the scattering by inhomogeneities of the interstellar medium. The variability has been obtained at theminimum activity phase of the source. The intraday variability (IDV) has been searched for at both RT-32 telescopes since April 2014. Out of 38 successful observing sessions for the source, only three have shown a variability on a timescale of four hours or more at a significance level no higher than 0.1%. This confirms our conclusion drawn from the previous IDV measurements for other sources that the IDV is observed mainly at the maximum phases of long-term variability of the sources. 相似文献

A La-Ce-Sr-Ca aluminous hydroxy phosphate of the goyazite-florencite-crandallite series was observed in the nuclear reactor zone 13 in the Oklo uranium deposit (Gabon). It has a trigonal elementary cell with a?=?6.98 ± 0.03 Å and c?=?16.35?±?0.04?Å (space group P3m). It occurs in a U-rich sample depleted in 235U (235U/238U?=?0.0047). Its chemical composition, measured by ion microprobe analyses, shows that it contains fission products (Zr, LREE) whereas the isotopic composition of Ba and Sr is natural. Ion microprobe imaging indicates that the nearby uraninite crystals are depleted in fissiogenic LREE. This study shows that the migration of some fission products, probably related to a dolerite dike intrusion, is limited by the formation of aluminous hydroxy phosphates. 相似文献

We present the results of verifying the areas that were detected as prone to strong earthquakes by the pattern recognition algorithms in different regions of the world with different levels of seismicity and, therefore, different threshold magnitudes demarcating the strong earthquakes. The analysis is based on the data presented in the catalog of the U.S. National Earthquake Information Center (NEIC) as of August 1, 2012. In each of the regions considered, we examined the locations of the epicenters of the strong earthquakes that occurred in the region after the publication of the corresponding result. There were 91 such earthquakes in total. The epicenters of 79 of these events (87%) fall in the recognized earthquake-prone areas, including 27 epicenters located in the areas where no strong earthquakes had ever been documented up to the time of publication of the result. Our analysis suggests that the results of the recognition of areas prone to strong earthquakes are reliable and that it is reasonable to use these results in the applications associated with the assessment of seismic risks. The comparison of the recognition for California with the analysis of seismicity of this region by the Discrete Perfect Sets (DPS) algorithm demonstrates the agreement between the results obtained by these two different methods. 相似文献
