Arrival time of particles in an extensive air shower (EAS) is a key physical parameter to determine its direction. EAS direction is useful for studies of anisotropy and composition of cosmic rays, and search for multi-TeV γ-rays sources. Accurate timing may be used to search exotic phenomena such as production of new particles at extremely high energies available during early stages of development of EAS and also for detecting sub-relativistic hadrons in EAS. Time to digital converters (TDCs) are used to perform this task. Traditional TDCs operate in the START-STOP mode with limited dynamic range and single-hit capability. With the advent of high luminosity collider LHC, need for TDCs with large dynamic range, multi-hit capability and TRIGGERED mode of operation became necessary. A 32 channel TDC was designed for the GRAPES-3 experiment on a CAMAC platform around TDC32, an ASIC developed by micro-electronics group at CERN, Geneva. Four modules were operated in the GRAPES-3 experiment. Here, we present details of the circuit design and their performance over several years. The multi-hit feature of this device was used to study the time structure of particles in the EAS on time scale of ~1 μs. The distribution of time intervals in the multi-hit data shows an exponential profile with a time constant of ~370 ns. These delayed particles are likely to be neutrons produced in the EAS core that were recorded in the scintillator detectors following the relativistic EAS front. 相似文献

the Einstein-Rosen metric. It is shown that the solutions obtained by other workers do not satisfy the isotropy conditions

It is surprising that we hardly know only 4% of the universe. Rest of the universe is made up of 73% of dark-energy and 23%
of dark-matter. Dark-energy is responsible for acceleration of the expanding universe; whereas dark-matter is said to be necessary
as extra-mass of bizarre-properties to explain the anomalous rotational-velocity of galaxy. Though the existence of dark-energy
has gradually been accepted in scientific community, but the candidates for dark-matter have not been found as yet and are
too crazy to be accepted. Thus, it is obvious to look for an alternative theory in place of dark-matter. Milgrom (Astrophys.
J. 270:365, 1983a; 270:371, 1983b) has suggested a ‘Modified Newtonian Dynamics (MOND)’ which appears to be highly successful for explaining the anomalous
rotational-velocity. But unfortunately MOND lacks theoretical support. The MOND, in-fact, is (empirical) modification of Newtonian-Dynamics
through modification in the kinematical acceleration term ‘a’ (which is normally taken as
a=\fracv2ra=\frac{v^{2}}{r}) as effective kinematic acceleration
aeffective = a m(\fracaa0)a_{\mathit{effective}} = a \mu(\frac{a}{a_{0}}), wherein the μ-function is 1 for usual-values of accelerations but equals to

First ever closed form solution for charged fluid sphere expressed by a space time with its hypersurfaces t= constant as spheroid is obtained for the case 0<K<1. The same is utilized to construct a superdense star with surface density 2×1014 gm/cm3. The star is seen to satisfy the reality and causality conditions for 0<K≤0.045 and possesses maximum mass and radius to be 0.065216M
Θ and 1.137496 km respectively. Moreover the interior of the star satisfy strong energy condition. However in the absence of
the causality condition, the reality conditions are valid for a wider range 0<K≤0.13. The maximum mass and radius for the later case are 1.296798M
Θ and 2.6107 km respectively for the strong energy condition, while the said parameters for the weak energy condition read
as 1.546269M

In the present article, we have obtained a class of charged superdense star models, starting with a static spherically symmetric
metric in curvature coordinates by considering Durgapal (J. Phys. A 15:2637, 1982) type metric i.e. g

, where n being any positive integer. It is observed that the maximum mass of the charged fluid models is monotonically increasing
with the increasing values of n≤4. For n≥4, the maximum mass of the charged fluid models is throughout monotonically decreasing and over all maximum mass is attained
at n=4. The present metric tends to another metric which describes the charged analogue of Kuchowicz neutral solution as n→∞. Consequently the lower limit of maximum mass of the charged fluid models could be determined and found to be 5.1165 solar
mass with corresponding radius 18.0743 Km. While the upper limit of maximum mass of the model of this category is already
known to be 5.7001 solar mass with corresponding radius 17.1003 Km for n=4. The solutions so obtained are well behaved. 相似文献

We performed high resolution spectroscopy of the solar corona during the total solar eclipse of 22 July 2009 in two emission
lines: the green line at 5303 ? due to Fe xiv and the red line at 6374 ? due to Fe x, simultaneously from Anji (latitude 30°28.1′ N; longitude 119°35.4′ E; elevation 890 m), China. A two-mirror coelostat with
100 cm focal length lens produced a 9.2 mm image of the Sun. The spectrograph using 140 cm focal length lens in Littrow mode
and a grating with 600 lines per millimeter blazed at 2 μm provided a dispersion of 30 m? and 43 m? per pixel in the fourth
order around the green line and third order around the red line, respectively. Two Peltier cooled 1k × 1k CCD cameras, with
a pixel size of 13 μm square and 14-bit readout at 10 MHz operated in frame transfer mode, were used to obtain the time sequence
spectra in two emission lines simultaneously. The duration of totality was 341 s, but we could get spectra for 270 s after
a trial exposure at an interval of 5 s. We report here on the detection of intensity, velocity, and line width oscillations
with periodicity in the range of 25 – 50 s. These oscillations can be interpreted in terms of the presence of fast magnetoacoustic
waves or torsional Alfvén waves. The intensity ratios of green to red emission lines indicate the temperature of the corona
to be 1.65 MK in the equatorial region and 1.40 MK in the polar region, relatively higher than the expected temperature during
the low activity period. The width variation of the emission lines in different coronal structures suggests different physical

The emission from blazars is known to be variable at all wavelengths. The flux variability is often accompanied by spectral changes. Spectral energy distribution (SED) changes must be associated with changes in the spectra of emitting electrons and/or the physical parameters of the jet. Meaningful modeling of blazar broadband spectra is required to understand the extreme conditions within the emission region. Not only is the broadband SED crucial, but also information about its variability is needed to understand how the highest states of emission occur and how they differ from the low states. This may help in discriminating between models. Here we present the results of our SED modeling of the blazar S5 0716+714 during various phases of its activity. Recently, Bijalwan (Astrophys. Space Sci. doi:, 2011) discussed all important solutions of charged fluid spheres with pressure and Gupta et al. (Astrophys. Space Sci. doi:, 2010) found first closed form solutions of charged Vaidya-Tikekar (V-T) type super-dense star. We extend here the approach evolved
by Bijalwan (Astrophys. Space Sci. doi:, 2011) to find all possible closed form solutions of V-T type super-dense stars. The existing solutions of Vaidya-Tikekar type
charged fluid spheres considering particular form of electric field intensity are being used to model massive stars. Infact
at present maximum masses of the star models are found to be 8.223931M

Θ subject to ultra-relativistic and non-relativistic conditions respectively. But these stars with such are large masses are
not well behaved due to decreasing velocity of sound in the interior of star. We present new results concerning the existence
of static, electrically charged perfect fluid spheres that have a regular interior. It is observed that electric intensity
used in this article can be used to model superdense stars with ultrahigh surface density of the order 2×1014 gm/cm3 which may have maximum mass 7.26368240M
Θ for ultra-relativistic condition and velocity of sound found to be decreasing towards pressure free interface. We solve the
Einstein-Maxwell equations considering a general barotropic equation of state with pressure. For brevity we don’t present

The Fulra limestone (middle Eocene) exposed in the areas around Jhadwa and Harudi villages, southwestern, Kachchh reveals
presence of a rich assemblage of calcareous algae belonging to the Chlorophyceae and Rhodophyceae along with abundant foraminifera.
In the present paper, eight species belonging to eight genera of calcareous algae are described. These include Dissocladella longijangensis, Sporolithon keenani, Corallina crossmanni, Arthrocardia sp. Misra et al. 2001, Lithothamnion ishigakiensis, Melobesioideae gen. et spec. indet. 1, Melobesioideae gen. et spec. indet. 2 and Lithoporella melobesioides. Out of these, one taxon belongs to the family Dasycladaceae. Among the remaining taxa, one taxon to the family Sporolithaceae,
three taxa to the family Corallinaceae and three to the family Hapalidiaceae. Two coralline species, Corallina crossmanni and Lithothamnion ishigakiensis, are recorded for the first time from India. Another species (Dissocladella longijangensis), though known from other areas of India, is new to the study area. 相似文献
