Geomorphology has increasingly considered the role of biotic factors as controls upon geomorphic processes across a wide range of spatial and temporal scales. Where timescales are long (centennial and longer), it has been possible to quantify relationships between geomorphic processes and vegetation using, for example, the pollen record. However, where the biotic agents are fauna, longer term reconstruction of the impacts of biological activity upon geomorphic processes is more challenging. Here, we review the prospect of using environmental DNA as a molecular proxy to decipher the presence and nature of faunal influences on geomorphic processes in both present and ancient deposits. When used appropriately, this method has the potential to improve our understanding of biotic drivers of geomorphic processes, notably fauna, over long timescales and so to reconstruct how such drivers might explain the landscape as we see it today. Located between terrestrial and marine ecosystems, mangrove forests are sensitive to changes in climate. The responses of mangrove ecosystems to climate change in the future can be understood by reconstructing past mangrove dynamics using proxies preserved in the intertidal sediments. Considering the complexity of the proxies commonly used, it is necessary to develop a relatively simple, inexpensive proxy. In this study, available chemical tracers (δ13Corg and C:N) of the four cores (YLW02, YLW03, O18, and Q37) from the intertidal zone of the northern Beibu Gulf (NBG) and a three-end-member (mangrove, sea grass, and suspended particulate matter) model was utilized to determine the contribution of mangrove-derived organic matter (CMOM) in carbonate-free sediments. Compared with the summed concentration of mangrove pollen (SCMP), a significant positive correlation between CMOM and SCMP is displayed. The calculated CMOM for an additional 210Pb-dated sediment core from the Yingluo Bay, NBG (YLW01) clearly indicates a mangrove development going through degradation, flourishing, relative degradation, and relative flourishing, which are separately in correspondence with the lowest, highest, lower, and higher air temperature and rainfall in the time intervals of 1890–1918 AD, 1919–1956 AD, 1957–1990 AD, and 1991–2010 AD. This suggests that CMOM preserved in intertidal sediments has a potential to reconstruct historical mangrove development in high resolution, at the very least, along the coasts of the NBG.  相似文献

通过对青土湖地区ZY剖面的代用指标分析, 研究了该区9 500 a BP以来的气候环境变化. 在9 500~6 700 a BP期间, 剖面为风成砂沉积, 平均粒径、磁化率、碳酸盐含量和C/N代用指标值均出现了的最低值, 代表了湖泊干涸状态下强烈的风力搬运堆积, 反映为一种暖干的古气候环境;6 700 ~5 800 a BP期间, 为碳酸盐粉砂质粘土沉积, 代用指标的值均为高值, 指示高水位、暖湿的古气候环境;5 800~2 700 a BP为碳酸盐粉砂沉积, 代用指标的值均表现为中等, 代表了低水位状态下的碳酸盐沉积, 反映夏季风减弱, 区域降水量减少;2 700~1 100 a BP期间为沼泽沉积, 此时湖泊水量变化是以人为因素为主还是自然因素为主, 需要进一步研究.  相似文献

This paper presents an approach to stream length-gradient index analysis to identify tectonic signatures. The graded profile of the Dez River in Zagros Mountains, Iran, indicates that the area has been tectonically disturbed, and it triggers landslide hazards. The high-gradient index shows that a steeper gradient could be potentially a signature for landslides identification. The digital surface models acquired by airborne LiDAR were used in this study to generate the HRDEM. Our result shows a great potential for improving landslide investigations by implementing stream length-gradient index derived from the HRDEM in conjunction with the landslide inventories data-set in the GIS environment. We also identified a correlation between the stream length-gradient index and the graded topographic profile with slopes and landslides. This empirical approach was verified by geodata analytics and landslide inventories data-set in conjunction with field observations. This study has identified the locations of high-gradient indices with susceptible to landslides.  相似文献

位于三江南段双江勐库地区的临沧花岗岩,主体岩性为黑云母二长花岗岩,其次为黑云母花岗闪长岩和碱长花岗岩。通过野外地质调查,在勐库热水塘附近黑云二长花岗岩中发现了与其紧密共生的暗色镁铁质微粒包体(MME)—闪长岩。本文对暗色闪长岩包体进行了岩相学观察、LA-ICP-MS锆石U-Pb定年和全岩主量元素分析。暗色闪长岩包体LA-ICP-MS锆石U-Pb年龄为230.9±1.2Ma,与中细粒黑云二长花岗岩LA-ICP-MS锆石U-Pb年龄(229.2±0.8Ma)基本一致。岩石地球化学特征表明,黑云二长花岗岩富K2O和Na2O,Na2OK2O,富Al2O3,铝饱和指数A/CNK平均为1.17;闪长岩K2O和Na2O含量中等,Na2OK2O,富Al2O3和Mg O,铝饱和指数A/CNK平均为0.77。二者稀土配分曲线为右倾的轻稀土富集型,二者均富集大离子亲石元素而亏损高场强元素Nb、Ta等,均具有相对较高的Mg#(黑云二长花岗岩30.50~61.41;闪长岩58.58~67.34)。中细粒黑云二长花岗岩Cr、Ni含量(平均值分别为46.96×10-6和11.21×10-6)小于闪长岩Cr、Ni含量(平均值分别为197.62×10-6和75.68×10-6)。综合研究表明,该地区花岗质岩浆的形成很可能与地幔流体作用引发的地壳部分熔融与壳幔岩浆混合作用密切相关,形成于陆陆碰撞-后碰撞的构造背景,暗示保山地块与思茅地块在230Ma已经进入了陆陆碰撞-后碰撞的地质时期。  相似文献

We present new data on the age, composition, and environments of formation of granites of the Kystarys complex and the associated Li-rich rare-element pegmatites of the South Sangilen pegmatite belt including the large Tastyg lithium deposit. It has been established that they formed during the Early Paleozoic collisional orogeny in the Tuva-Mongolian massif at the Cambrian-Ordovician boundary. The granites of the Kystarys complex are moderately alkaline high-K rocks and are enriched in Zr, Nb, Y, and REE; therefore, they are classified as postcollisional, transitional to within-plate (A-type). The spodumene pegmatites of the South Sangilen pegmatite belt are similar to the above granites in age and isotopic and geochemical parameters, which suggests a paragenetic relationship between these rocks. Pegmatites form several pegmatite fields within the belt, which differ in trace-element signatures. In addition to predominant Li, Cs, and Ta, specific to all spodumene pegmatites (LCT family), pegmatites of two fields have high contents of Nb, Y, REE, and Zr, which are indicator elements of NYF family pegmatites. It has been established that the formation of spodumene pegmatites with combined LCT-NYF geochemical signatures was preceded by the intrusion of dikes of monzogabbro with the geochemical characteristics of OIB and of alkali aegirine granites and by the formation of associated metasomatites enriched in Zr, Nb, Y, and REE. Based on the geological, mineralogical, and geochemical data, we substantiate the hypothesis of the formation of Li-bearing granite-pegmatite melts from a mixed source resulted from the influence of fluids of an alkaline igneous complex of mantle genesis on the crustal protolith.  相似文献

Loess is a main archive of Pleistocene landscapes and environments and therefore has an important connection to the preservation and interpretation of Paleolithic sites. In Europe, anthropogenic sites have been found in loess because of past local occupation. At one extreme, sites are well preserved with minimal disturbance often accompanied by embedded proxies to estimate ecological parameters. On the other hand, loess deposits have undergone post-depositional alterations such as weathering, pedogenesis or bioturbation due to changing environmental conditions or other disturbances that obscure anthropogenic sites. We outline the current state of research and connections between Paleolithic archeology and loess research while introducing a series of subsequent regional case studies as part of a special issue. We also make recommendations for future work to incorporate a wider variety of methods to create more robust inferences on hominin and environmental evolution and their connections.  相似文献

We present a high‐resolution record of lacustrine sedimentation spanning ca. 30 000 to 9000 cal. a BP from Onepoto maar, northern North Island, New Zealand. The multi‐proxy record of environmental change is constrained by tephrochronology and accelerator mass spectrometric 14C ages and provides evidence for episodes of rapid environmental change during the Last Glacial Coldest Period (LGCP) and Last Glacial–Interglacial Transition (LGIT) from northern New Zealand. The multi‐proxy palaeoenvironmental record from Onepoto indicates that the LGCP was cold, dry and windy in the Auckland region, with vegetation dominated by herb and grass in a beech forest mosaic between ca. 28 500 and 18 000 cal. a BP. The LGCP was accompanied by more frequent fires and influx of clastic sediment indicating increased erosion during the LGCP, with a mid‐LGCP interstadial identified between ca. 25 000 and 23 000 cal. a BP. Rapid climate amelioration at ca. 18 000 cal. a BP was accompanied by increased terrestrial biomass exemplified by the expansion of lowland podocarp forest, especially Dacrydium cupressinum. Increasing biomass production is reversed briefly by LGIT perturbations which are apparent in many of the proxies that span ca. 14 000–10 500 cal. a BP, suggesting generally increased wetness and higher in situ aquatic plant productivity with reduced terrestrial organic matter and terrigenous detrital influx. Furthermore, conditions at that time were probably warmer and frosts rare based on the increasing importance of Ascarina. The subsequent early Holocene is characterised by podocarp conifer forest and moist mild conditions. Postglacial sea‐level rise breached the crater rim and deposited 36 m of estuarine mud after ca. 9000 cal. a BP. Copyright © 2011 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

通过青海玛多湖相地层剖面沉积特征,结合ESR样品年代测试结果,分析认为黄河源地区在13万年左右的晚更新世时期发生过湖泛事件。湖泛时期,玛多"四姐妹湖"相互连通,形成一个面积巨大的湖泊,约是现今"四姐妹湖"总面积的4.1倍。玛多地区此次湖泛事件与深海氧同位素MIS 6(Marine isotope stages 6)向MIS 5(Marine isotope stages 5)转变时期相对应,显示出青藏高原气候变化与全球气候变化密切相关,然而黄河源地区湖相地层对全球气候变化反应更敏感,记录的气候转换时间早于其他地区。玛多剖面湖相地层剖面沉积物的粒度、碳酸盐、磁化率分析表明,在132±10~128±12 ka年间,黄河源地区湖相沉积可分为9个阶段,表明青藏高原在MIS 6向MIS 5转变时期的气候变化是一个波动上升过程。13万年左右,黄河源地区大面积的湖相地层结束沉积,认为由于青藏高原共和运动,下游的多石峡被切开,湖水突然外泄所形成。   相似文献

针对目前高分辨率遥感影像的道路自动提取算法研究中的不足,该文提出了一种基于并行角度纹理特征的半自动道路提取算法:用户输入完成道路中心线上的起始点、道路方向、道路宽度等初始化工作,利用并行角度纹理特征获取道路前进方向,用抛物线参数方程构建道路轨迹模型来预测道路轨迹点,使用角度纹理特征值构建的紧质度系数和抛物线的曲率变化来约束道路轨迹点,验证失败则转入手工跟踪;往复执行以提取道路中心线。试验证明,本算法是一种稳健的道路半自动提取算法。  相似文献
