Understanding the hydrological processes of colloids within the karst vadose zone is vital to the security of karst groundwater and providing appropriate paleohydrological explanations of colloid-facilitated metals in speleothem. This study addresses the mobilization mechanisms driving colloidal organic matter (COM) transport in the karst vadose zone using a 15-year long monthly monitoring dataset from a cave drip point (HS4) in Heshang Cave, Qingjiang Valley, China. Variations in COM concentrations were reported as the fluorescence difference values of raw and filtered (<0.22 μm) samples at an excitation wavelength of 320 nm and emission wavelength of ~400 nm. A fluorescence humification index (HIX) lower than 0.8 and an autochthonous index (BIX) higher than 1.2 indicated that the origin of COM was mainly from the karst vadose zone, rather than the soil zone. The COM concentration varied from 0.001 to 0.038 Raman Unit (RU), with evident seasonal fluctuations. Rising limbs for COM values occurred prior to rising limbs within a dripwater hydrograph; moreover, the COM peak values corresponding to the beginning of the increasing hydrograph generally suggested that the mobilization of COM reflected the movement of the air–water interface (AWI) in the karst vadose zone rather than rainfall intensity or flow velocity. COM peak values were positively correlated with the antecedent drying duration and negatively correlated with HIX values. These phenomena may be explained by the increased amount of organic matter that was aggregated and absorbed on the surface of carbonate in the karst vadose zone during a longer drying duration. Moreover, the longer drying duration was also beneficial to autochthonous biological activity, which subsequently decreased the HIX value of the organic matter in the karst vadose zone. The movement of AWI and the drying duration are both controlled by the outside weather conditions. This study is therefore conducive to evaluating the security of karst groundwater in response to climate change, and challenges prevailing paleoclimate interpretations of colloid-facilitated metal abundance timeseries reported from speleothems.  相似文献

Lacustrine groundwater discharge (LGD) can substantially impact ecosystem characteristics and functions. Fibre optic distributed temperature sensing (FO‐DTS) has been successfully used to locate groundwater discharge into lakes and rivers at the sediment–water interface, but locating groundwater discharge would be easier if it could be detected from the more accessible water surface. So far, it is not clear if how and under which conditions the LGD signal propagates through the water column to the water surface–atmosphere interface, and what perturbations and signal losses occur along this pathway. In the present study, LGD was simulated in a mesocosm experiment. Under winter conditions, water with temperatures of 14 to 16 °C was discharged at the bottom of a 10 × 2.8‐m mesocosm. Water within this mesocosm ranged from 4.0 to 7.4 °C. Four layers (20, 40, 60, and 80 cm above the sediment) of the 82 cm deep mesocosm were equipped with FO‐DTS for tracing thermal patterns in the mesocosm. Aims are (a) to test whether the positive buoyancy of relatively warm groundwater imported by LGD into shallow water bodies allows detection of LGD at the lake's water surface–atmosphere interface by FO‐DTS, (b) to analyse the propagation of the temperature signal from the sediment‐water interface through the water column, and (c) to learn more about detectability of the signal under different discharge rates and weather conditions. The experiments supported the benchmarking of scale dependencies and robustness of FO‐DTS applications for measuring upwelling into aquatic environments and revealed that weather conditions can have important impacts on the detection of upwelling at water surface–atmosphere interfaces at larger scales.  相似文献

氧环境决定了水体沉积物中各种生命所需元素的最终归趋,沉积物-水界面是水相与沉积物相氧传递的重要场所,而水动力条件是影响沉积物-水界面氧传递的重要因素.选择三峡库区一级支流御临河为研究对象,根据长年监测数据建立实验室模型,采用声学多普勒流速测试仪及微电极测试系统构建了非侵入式涡度相关测试系统,探究了不同水动力条件对沉积物-水界面氧通量的影响.结果表明:水体静止状态下沉积物-水界面溶解氧浓度随时间的增加而减少,非静止状态下随时间的增加而增加;沉积物-水界面氧通量随水体流速的增加而增加.根据氧通量求解对应流速下垂直涡动扩散系数并进行线性拟合,当水体流速为0.01~0.14 m/s时,垂直涡动扩散系数与水体流速的相关性最好,此时沉积物-水界面氧通量的传递以涡动扩散为主导.  相似文献

对不同震中距台站的记录采用入射角法、s PL-Pg等震相到时差,对辽宁地震台网记录采用单纯形法研究了辽阳灯塔5.1级地震的震源深度。结果表明,该地震震源深度应为14km,略大于目录给出的10km。利用四川松潘台、青海湟源台的远台记录也得到同样的结果。通过对辽宁1970年以来5.0级以上地震进行分析发现,辽宁地震的震源分布存在东西两侧偏深、中部偏浅、中部地区南浅北深的统计规律,灯塔地震震源深度符合该统计规律。  相似文献

为了更全面地分析筋土界面相互作用特性,改制了一台可视加筋土界面特性宏细观分析的试验仪器,可开展不同土工合成材料与填料的直剪和拉拔试验;该仪器改进了试验箱的尺寸,可方便两种试验的对比分析,增加了图像摄录系统,可进行试验过程的细观分析。使用新研制仪器分别进行了土工合成材料(土工格栅和土工布)加筋尾矿砂的直剪和拉拔试验,试验结果表明:两种试验条件下,土工格栅与尾矿的界面参数(似黏聚力和似摩擦角)及似摩擦系数均比土工布与尾矿的界面参数和似摩擦系数大;直剪试验下筋材网孔的有无对筋-尾矿界面参数均有较大影响,拉拔试验下筋材网孔有无对筋-尾矿界面参数似黏聚力的影响较为显著,对似摩擦角的影响较小。随着宏观变量法向应力的增加,细观参数孔隙率减小,平均接触数增加,反映在宏观上的现象就是填料颗粒被压密,筋材需要克服的阻力增大。该试验仪器能够较好地分析筋土界面宏细观特性,获得关键技术指标以用于加筋结构的设计。   相似文献

In the sub‐humid Western Boreal Plains of Alberta, where evapotranspiration often exceeds precipitation, trembling aspen (Populus tremuloides Michx.) uplands often depend on adjacent peatlands for water supply through hydraulic redistribution. Wildfire is common in the Boreal Plains, so the resilience of the transfer of water from peatlands to uplands through roots immediately following wildfire may have implications for aspen succession. The objective of this research was to characterize post‐fire peatland‐upland hydraulic connectivity and assess controls on aspen transpiration (as a measure of stress and productivity) among landscape topographic positions. In May 2011, a wildfire affected 90,000 ha of north central Alberta, including the Utikuma Region Study Area (URSA). Portions of an URSA glacio‐fluval outwash lake catchment were burned, which included forests and a small peatland. Within 1 year after the fire, aspen were found to be growing in both the interior and margins of this peatland. Across recovering land units, transpiration varied along a topographic gradient of upland midslope (0.42 mm hr?1) > upland hilltop (0.29 mm hr?1) > margin (0.23 mm hr?1) > peatland (0.10 mm hr?1); similar trends were observed with leaf area and stem heights. Although volumetric water content was below field capacity, P. tremuloides were sustained through roots present, likely before fire, in peatland margins through hydraulic redistribution. Evidence for this was observed through the analysis of oxygen (δ18O) and hydrogen (δ2H) isotopes where upland xylem and peat core signatures were ?10.0‰ and ?117.8‰ and ?9.2‰ and ?114.0‰, respectively. This research highlights the potential importance of hydraulic redistribution to forest sustainability and recovery, in which the continued delivery of water may result in the encroachment of aspen into peatlands. As such, we suggest that through altering ecosystem services, peatland margins following fire may be at risk to aspen colonization during succession.  相似文献

季节性缺氧导致夏季沉积物内源磷强烈释放,加剧水体富营养化,是我国西南地区深水湖泊(水库)面临的重要挑战.有效增加夏季缺氧期深水沉积物-水界面的含氧量,是减少内源磷释放的关键.现有的深水增氧技术由于缺乏对沉积物-水界面增氧的针对性,因此治理效果有限.近年来,纳米气泡已被证实具有的稳定性好、氧传质速率高和环境风险低等优点,为新型深水增氧技术研发提供了巨大潜力.本文以天然矿物材料白云母、绢云母、硅藻土和沸石为基底,负载纳米气泡,研发纳米气泡改性矿物颗粒技术,开展湖泊沉积物-水界面增氧模拟实验研究,运用平面光电极技术评估其界面增氧效果.结果表明,纳米气泡改性矿物颗粒对沉积物-水界面具有比较明显的增氧效果.其中,改性白云母、绢云母和沸石的界面持续增氧时间可达7天以上,增氧后的界面最大溶解氧(DO)浓度达4.40 mg/L,而改性硅藻土不具有增氧能力.其次,矿物粒度对改性颗粒的增氧效果有一定影响:粒度越细,界面的最大增氧浓度越高,且持续增氧时间越长.纳米气泡改性矿物颗粒技术有望成为夏季缺氧期深水沉积物-水界面精准增氧和内源污染控制的有效技术手段.  相似文献

利用基于计算流体力学(CFD)理论的数值模拟软件,在不影响街道连续性面貌的前提下,通过控制变量法分别改变街道贴线率、街道界面密度、街道高宽比3个关键要素的数值来观察街道风环境的变化情况。结论主要有: 街道内的风速大小随着街道贴线率的增大呈抛物线趋势变化,先增大后减小,在街道贴线率接近70%时,城市街道内风速达到最大; 随着界面密度的不断减小,城市街道内各个测点的风速变化的幅度越来越大,这样会让在其中行走的行人感受到强烈的风速变化,舒适度大为下降; 城市街道内的平均风速和街道高宽比成反比例关系。  相似文献

结合基桩承载过程中的桩周土体应力状态分析和桩土界面摩擦特性分析,推导出基于土体应力状态的沿桩土界面的土体抗剪强度计算模型和基于界面摩擦特性的界面抗剪强度计算模型。通过对比土体抗剪强度和界面抗剪强度,推导出受该两种强度耦合作用影响的极限侧阻力计算模型,并用上海某工程算例验证该模型的合理性和可行性,同时利用该模型分析不同类型的土的极限侧阻力随埋深的分布规律。结果显示:因内摩擦角和侧压力系数之间的不同关系,极限侧阻力随埋深表现出不同的分布特点,在特定关系下,存在一个临界深度,超过该深度极限侧阻力维持在一个稳定值甚至不断减小直至为零。  相似文献
