Discovery of Sirenites senticosus (Dittmar) in the upper part of the Sabudani Formation of the Kurosegawa Belt, Kito area, Tokushima Prefecture, Japan, establishes a late Early Carnian age for this part of the stratigraphic unit. Because S. senticosus was mainly distributed in the Tethyan region, its occurrence provides evidence that Late Triassic ammonoids of Japan had strong affinities with those of the Tethyan faunas. This finding clearly differs from the biogeographic distribution of contemporary bivalves in the region, which are referred to as the Kochigatani bivalve faunas, and show strong affinities to faunas of the Boreal region.  相似文献

An examination of inner shelf, outer shelf, and slope deposits in the Yezo forearc basin, northern Japan, provides new insights into the relationship between mid-Cretaceous ammonoid facies and lithofacies. Although undergoing post-mortem transport to some degree, the ammonoids were not moved to areas outside of their original habitat. This assumption is based on the condition of the outer shell surface, general absence of fragmentation, and sedimentary structures. Desmoceras predominates in the upper Albian–Cenomanian succession regardless of lithofacies, the family Gaudryceratidae is the second-most dominant group in each lithofacies, the abundance of Zelandites decreases offshore, and other groups, including Acanthoceratidae, are uncommon but occur in both inshore and offshore facies. External shell ornamentation does not necessarily vary according to lithofacies differences, while the shape of the whorl section does vary with lithofacies as a reflection of ambient environments. The smooth, slender Zelandites and the compressed morph of the smooth Desmoceras predominate in high-energy regimes represented by frequent hummocky cross-stratification and current ripple marks of an inner shelf. In contrast, the depressed morph of Desmoceras predominates in low-energy, offshore, muddy sea-floor regimes.  相似文献

Abstract   Callovian (late Middle Jurassic) ammonoids Macrocephalites and Jeanneticeras were recovered from the Shyok suture zone, northeast of Chang La Pass, Ladakh, northwest India. They are the first reliable Jurassic fossils and the oldest chronologic data from the Shyok suture zone. The ammonoid-bearing Jurassic strata, newly defined as the Tsoltak Formation, consist largely of terrigenous mudstone with thin sandstone beds and were probably a part of the continental basement to the Cretaceous Ladakh Arc.  相似文献

本文所研究的湖北大冶沙田下三叠统菊石、双壳动物群,包括菊石10属11种,双壳类4属9种。文中建立了5个菊石带:Lytophiceras带、Gyronites带、Flemingites带、Pseudosagece-ras—Xenodiscoides带和Anasibirites带;2个双壳动物带:Claraia griesbachi带和Cl.concentrica带,并依据动物群面貌,将原大冶群的时代详细划分为大冶组和观音山组。大冶组的时代相当于格里斯巴赫期至亭纳尔期,观音山组的时代相当于斯密斯期至斯派斯期。  相似文献

The history of Triassic ammonoids in the Siberian Province of the Boreal Paleobiogeographic Realm is recorded in detail in sections of Northeast Asia. In this region there are known at present 123 Triassic ammonoid genera of 41 family and 3 orders. Six stages and 14 substages are defined based on main levels of taxonomic restructuring of Triassic ammonoids, changes in their genera and families diversity, and changes in percentage of endemic and cosmopolitan taxa in assemblages. Each stage and substage is characterized by individual taxonomic composition of ammonoids, dominant groups, trends of changes in taxonomic diversity, and percentages of endemic and cosmopolitan taxa. Boundaries of ammonoid evolution stages coincide as a rule with boundaries of series and stages, whereas boundaries of evolutionary substages match those of substages. In the history of Triassic ammonoids of Northeast Asia, the periods of a rather monotonous fauna represented mainly by cosmopolitan or panboreal taxa (early Induan, early Olenekian, early Anisian, late Anisian, early Carnian, early and middle Norian) alternated with periods, typical of which were higher rates of taxa origination and endemism of ammonoids (late Induan, late Olenekian, middle Anisian, Ladinian, late Carnian). Changing degree of cosmopolitism and endemism of Triassic ammonoid faunas from Northeast Asia is shown to be connected with global eustatic sea-level fluctuations and climatic changes.  相似文献

二叠系是广东省的主要产煤地层。阳春地区的上二叠统为阳春组,下二叠统有童子岩组、花园组和栖霞组。童子岩组含煤层;花园组产菊石化石。本文所记述的菊石化石共有4属6种,即Para-gastriocerasirwinense(Teichert),P.cf.artolobatumRuzhencev,Daubichitescf.shouchangensis(Chao),D.yangchunensisSheng(sp.nov),Crimitescf.krotowi(Karpinsky),ProstacheocerasguangenseSheng(sp.nov.).这在广东尚属首次发现,其时代为早二叠世晚期,相当我国南方早二叠世茅口期早期。本文为在我国南方寻找新的煤田及国内外二叠系的划分和对比提供了新的线索。  相似文献

西藏洛扎以南的我国境内存在一套由变质砂岩、变粉砂岩、板岩、泥晶灰岩组成的哑地层,前人称之为拉康组,为时代存疑地层。新近在该组下段的中上部发现了丰富的小型特化类型菊石生物群,经鉴定有4科6属(未定种),时代为早白垩世的贝里阿斯期一早阿尔必期,这些不同于康马一隆子地层分区生物群的化石的发现,不仅确定了拉康组的时代,也使北喜玛拉雅地层分区的东延问题得以解决。  相似文献
