Bioaccumulation of Ag, Cd, Co, Cr and Zn was studied in the oysters Isognomon isognomon and Malleus regula, using highly sensitive radiotracer techniques. Metals were readily bioconcentrated from the dissolved phase. Sediment exposures indicated a low bioavailability of sediment-bound metals (3–5 orders of magnitude lower than dissolved metals). In both seawater and sediment experiments, the two oysters displayed similar bioaccumulation behaviour towards all metals but Ag. Indeed, Ag was much more efficiently incorporated and retained in I. isognomon. Metals ingested with food (phytoplankton) were efficiently assimilated (34–77%) and strongly retained in oyster tissues (Tb½ ⩾ 20 d). Estimation of the relative contribution of each exposure pathway indicated that for both species sediment was the dominant pathway for Co and Cd, whereas food was the major source of Zn. Regarding Ag, seawater was the main source for I. isognomon (86%), whereas sediment was the predominant route for M. regula (92%). 相似文献
This study on the effects of ultrasonic treatment on female gametophytes ofLaminaria japonica showed that:
1.
Ultrasonic treatment had shortening effect on filaments of female gametophytes. Within certain period of time, the average length of filamentous female gametophytes was shortened.
2.
Ultrasonic treatment had emptying effect on cells. The number of empty cells increased with time of treatment. Ultrasonic treatment had harmful effect on cells.
3.
Ultrasonic treatment could break down cell walls. The combination of frequency of 20 kHz, output of 15 W, 40 s and 60 s of treatment was best for this purpose. After ultrasonic treatment, the regeneration of female gametophytes into sporophytes was effected. Female ganetophytes could not recover after too long period of treatment.
The inhibitory effects of methanol extracts from the tissues of three macroalgal species on the growths of three marine red tide microalgae were assessed under laboratory conditions.Extracts of Sargassum thunbergii(Mertens ex Roth) Kuntz tissue had stronger inhibitory effects than those of either Sargassum pallidum(Turner) C.Agardh or Sargassum kjellmanianum Yendo on the growths of Heterosigma akashiwo(Hada) Hada,Skeletonema costatum(Grev.) Grev, and Prorocentrum micans Ehrenberg.Methanol extracts of S.thunbergii were further divided into petroleum ether, ethyl acetate, butanol, and distilled water phases by liquid-liquid fractionation. The petroleum ether and ethyl acetate fractions had strong algicidal effects on the microalgae.Gas chromatography-mass spectrometry analyses of these two phases identified nine fatty acids, most of which were unsaturated fatty acids. In addition, pure compounds of four of the nine unsaturated fatty acids had effective concentrations below 5 mg/L.Therefore,unsaturated fatty acids are a component of the allelochemicals in S.thunbergii tissue. 相似文献
