A method for transforming Normal Moveout corrected CMP-gathers is proposed. The method is based upon the availability of a model of the CMP-gather. However, the transformation can be performed with any degree of accuracy in the model. Ideally the employed model should be a synthesis of all available a priori information about the particular data set. Mathematically the transformation is performed as follows. The CMP-gather is considered to be a matrix. This matrix is first decomposed into a set of submatrices of the same dimensions. Each submatrix consists of non-zero elements or samples with the same relative amount of noise. By reducing each of these submatrices to a vector (a trace) we get a new set of traces. This set then represents the transformed CMP-gather. The purpose of the transformation is to organize the CMP data in a form which makes it easier both to analyse the noise distribution and to take the necessary steps to improve the signal-to-noise ratio at the stacking stage. In principle the method incorporates the exploitation of multichannel recordings with the use of models. Several examples of transformed gathers and their applications to the improvement of real seismic data are shown.  相似文献

The satellite digital vegetation index data has been correlated with the forest growing stock by fitting linear regression models. The goodness of fit was tested. The analysis showed that the vegetation index which is the ratio of reflectance of vegetation in near infrared band to red wave band of electromagnetic spectrum is highly correlated to forest growing stock and the same can be used to predict the volume in remote forest areas for quick assessment purpose. Implications for future forest inventory are discussed.  相似文献

An algorithm for separation of signals according to their coherency is proposed. The algorithm, called Superstack, is used on common depth point data after normal moveout corrections have been applied. The algorithm can be regarded as an iterative stacking procedure. After each stack, input values are changed depending on the consistency of the output of the previous stack. The Superstack algorithm is able to provide better separation of signals showing a different degree of horizontal consistency (coherency) than the normal horizontal stack. All noise signals in a CDP-gather may be assumed to show less horizontal consistency than the primary reflections. On this basis the algorithm will give an improved primary/multiple and an improved primary/noise ratio. The Superstack is very general, should not be especially expensive in terms of computer time, and can easily be implemented in routine processing.  相似文献

The N-W Himalaya was rocked by a few major and many minor earthquakes. Two major earthquakes in Garhwal Himalaya: Uttarkashi earthquake of magnitude Ms= 7.0 (mb = 6.6) on October 20, 1991 in Bhagirthi valley and Chamoli earthquake of Ms= 6.5 (mb = 6.8) on March 29, 1999 in the Alaknanda valley and one in Himachal Himalaya: Chamba earthquake of magnitude 5.1 on March 24, 1995 in Chamba region, were recorded during the last decade and correlated with radon anomalies. The helium anomaly for Chamoli earthquake was also recorded and the Helium/Radon ratio model was tested on it. The precursory nature of radon and helium anomalies is a strong indicator in favor of geochemical precursors for earthquake prediction and a preliminary test for the Helium/Radon ratio model.  相似文献

The experiments were conducted in open top chamber system installed at the University of the Punjab, Quaid-e-Azam Campus, Lahore, Pakistan. The mungbean (Vigna radiata (L.) Wilczek var.M28) seeds were sown in earthen pots and were kept in filtered air, unfiltered air and ambient air. The ozone concentration was monitored daily during 1000hrs till 1600 h. The data for light intensity and relative humidity was also regularly collected. The sets of plants growing in FA chambers (without ozone and dust particles) responded well as regards growth and yields are concerned. Unfiltered air reduced the number of nodules, their biomass and nitroginase activity in mungbean plants. The present study documents that the species of mycorrhizal fungi sensitive to tropospheric ozone failed to reproduce in ambient air and unfiltered air chambers (without dust particles). Out of a total of 24 species, eighteen species belonged to the genus Glomus, two each to Sclerocystis, to Acaulospora and one each to Gigaspora and Scutellospora. The total number of species was variable during the growth phase. The total number of species reduced in soil of UFA chambers with the passage of time. Species richness reduced to almost half in UFA plants as compared to FA plants. Species of the Genus Glomus were highly abundant species at various harvests in all air treatments. Amongst most abundantly recovered Glomus species were G. fasciculatum, G. mosseae, G. aggregatum, G. caledonicum, G. deserticola, G. geosporum, and G. monosporum. The pattern of abundance kept on varying at various harvests for different air and mycorrhizal treatments. In the case of plants of UFA treatment, only two species of Glomus were abundant namely G. fasciculatum and G. geosporum. Species of Acaulospora and Gigaspora in particular and Scutellospora and Sclerocystis in general were sensitive to polluted air.  相似文献

A fossil wood of Lagerstroemia L. from the Upper Siwalik sediments of Arunachal Pradesh is described. The genus is recorded for the first time from this state. The modern analog of the fossil species i.e. L. tomentosa C. Presl is not found in the fossil locality at present.. The most plausible reason for the disappearance of the species from the fossil locality is an increase in temperature seasonality caused by the upheaval of the Himalaya during the Pleistocene.  相似文献

The significance of neotectonic lineaments for groundwater prospecting was studied for the area around Bhinmal — a semi-arid part of Thar desert. The application of Directional Filtering procedures on IRS LISS I Band 4 digital image of the study area revealed NE-SW, NW-SE and E-W trending lineaments which are very subtle and in two cases, even unnoticed otherwise. The use of exploratory borehole lithologs and field evidences indicated that the identified lineaments are long rectilinear buried and partly exposed channels and the intersection zones are characterised by thick lenses of coarse sand and gravel. These buried channels and zones of coarse sediments thus represent potential sites for the accumulation of freshwater during rain. The present work has highlighted the suitability of Directional Filtering procedures for lineament mapping and buried channel studies in a desertic terrain.  相似文献

Soil gas radon measurements were made in Chamba and Dharamshala regions of Himachal Pradesh, India, to study the correlation, if any, between the soil gas radon, radium activity concentration of soil, and the geology/active tectonics of the study region. Soil gas radon surveys were conducted around the local fault zones to check their tectonic activities using the soil gas technique. Soil gas radon activity concentration at thirty-five different locations in Dharamshala region has been found to be varying from 13.2 ± 1.5 to 110.8 ± 5.0 kBq m?3 with a geometrical mean of 35.9 kBq m?3 and geometrical standard deviation of 1.8. Radon activity concentration observed in the thirty-seven soil gas samples collected from the Chamba region of Himachal Pradesh varies from 5.2 ± 1.0 to 35.6 ± 2.5 kBq m?3, with geometrical mean of 15.8 kBq m?3 and geometrical standard deviation of 1.6. Average radium activity concentrations in thirty-four soil samples collected from different geological formations of Dharamshala region and Chamba region are found to be 40.4 ± 17 and 38.6 ± 1.7 Bq kg?1, respectively. It has been observed that soil gas radon activity concentration has a wide range of variation in both Dharamshala and Chamba regions, while radium activity concentrations in soil samples are more or less same in both the regions. Moreover, soil gas radon activity concentration has a better positive correlation with the radium activity concentration in soil samples collected from Chamba region as compared to Dharamshala region.  相似文献
