Panchromatic data of pixel resolution 5.8 m obtained from IRS-1C and IRS-1D satellites proved to be very useful for mapping purposes. One of the popular data product is the 70 km swath mosaic which is covered by a combination of 3 CCD line sensors, each with 4096 pixels. Each CCD-line sensor with different imaging times causes geometric problems of mosaicing three strips data together. In this paper, we propose the details of the design elements of system that caters to the need for accurate and automatic multi strip image registration without any second resampling of the data. The systematic geometric correction grid mapping is improved to facilitate accurate mosaicing by automatic image registration task that makes use of the overlap data within image strips and image registration is achieved up to sub-pixel level.  相似文献

Summary Crosscorrelation structure between solar activity and drought indices is investigated by analyzing the cross correlation of the residual time series of solar activity and drought indices. Double Sunspot Cycle, Zürich Sunspot number, Palmer's Drought Index and Drought Area Index data are used in the study. White residual series derived from the observed data series by using valid time series models are used for the crosscorrelation analysis. Weak correlations between solar activity and drought area indices are inferred. The lags of significant correlation appear to vary for the different time series used in the study.With 3 Figures  相似文献

Cosmological scenarios with massive unstable neutrinos are discussed. Restrictions on the mass and the lifetime of the unstable neutrino are derived from (a) age and mass density of the universe and (b) the growth of primordial fluctuations. It will not be possible to accommodate unstable neutrinos with masses above ∼ 1 ke V in standard cosmology unless they have exceedingly small lifetime: Τ <5 × 108 s.  相似文献

In the computation of density perturbation in inflation it is conventional to assume the inflation field to be in the vacuum state. There are, however, some advantages in relaxing this assumption. In an earlier paper we have estimated the density perturbations in a Gaussian coherent state using a toy-model. Here we extend this work by doing an exact analysis of this problem. The advantages of this method is discussed and the results are compared with earlier results  相似文献

The definition of particle states in various accelerated frames is considered. It is shown that in any realistically accelerated system, quantum field theory can be formulated without any ambiguity. We further show that the definition of a particle based on Green's function techniques does not always agree with the definition based on explicit quantization. We analyse the standard accelerated detector results from this point of view and show that the uncertainty principle imposes a rigorous bound on these detection processes.  相似文献

We investigate the evolution of non-linear density perturbations by taking into account the effects of deviations from spherical symmetry of a system. Starting from the standard spherical top hat model in which these effects are ignored, we introduce a physically motivated closure condition which specifies the dependence of the additional terms on the density contrast, δ . The modified equation can be used to model the behaviour of an overdense region over a sufficiently large range of δ . The key new idea is a Taylor series expansion in (1/ δ ) to model the non-linear epoch. We show that the modified equations quite generically lead to the formation of stable structures in which the gravitational collapse is halted at around the virial radius. The analysis also allows us to connect up the behaviour of individual overdense regions with the non-linear scaling relations satisfied by the two-point correlation function.  相似文献

This paper gives a full nonlinear version of Newtonian gravity in which the gravitational energy acts as a source of the gravitational field. The generalized field equation for the scalar gravitational potential is solved for a spherically symmetric localized distribution of matter. It is shown that the perihelia of orbits of test particles in such a field precess steadily. The effect is, however, too small to account for the observed shift in the perihelion of planet Mercury. Further, the bending of light in this theory is zero. It is suggested that these inadequacies of the quasi-Newtonian framework call for more sophisticated approaches to gravity.  相似文献
