An experimental investigation was carried out on the reconstituted Tunis soft soil (TSS) that was extracted from the centre of Tunis City at 35-m depth. Three series of consolidation tests were performed on TSS specimens. The first series included consolidation tests by preload. In the second series, vacuum consolidation tests were performed. The third series comprised a vacuum consolidation test combined with the preload. Excess pore water pressure and settlement were measured during the consolidation tests. Experimental results showed that for the same magnitude of preload and the vacuum pressure of 4, 8, 16 and 30 kPa, the settlement caused by the vacuum pressure is lower than that generated by the preload, while the settlements generated by preloads of 60 and 100 kPa are slightly lower than those caused by vacuum pressure of 60 and 100 kPa. A rapid dissipation of recorded excess pore water pressure around the geodrain was observed compared to that measured close to the cell border.  相似文献

The aim of this study was to evaluate a computer-based method to find a new inhibitor for polyphenol oxidase (PPO) in banana, apple, and mushroom. First, the sequence of PPOs was separately obtained from Protein Data Bank, and their homology was investigated. Next, the same structure of their active site was found, and it was interacted with various phenolic and benzoic compounds by a molecular dynamic software. Moreover, the inhibition of enzymatic browning was also investigated at different laboratory conditions. This study showed that histidine–leucine–phenylalanine–histidine was in all types of PPOs. Also, molecular dynamic simulation showed that (3S)-2-(3,4-dihydroxyphenyl)-3,5,7-chromanetriol (DHPC) is the best compound to interact with PPOs. Based on experimental tests, DHPC had the highest efficacy at 4 °C. The decrease in inhibition of enzymatic browning was seen with the increase in temperature. Also, the decrease in pH led to increase in enzymatic browning. It could be concluded that DHPC is a good inhibitor for enzymatic browning. It seems that this compound can be used in different fruits and vegetables to inhibit enzymatic browning.  相似文献

Metallothionein was quantified in sea bass Dicentrarchus labrax intraperitoneally (i.p.) injected with different Cu, Cd and Hg doses (50-250 microg kg(-1) wet wt) after 48 h exposure. A distinct peak with 16.8 min retention time was obtained by reversed-phase high performance liquid chromatography coupled to fluorescence detection (RP-HPLC-FD) with the three metals. Total metallothionein levels assayed in unheated liver extracts by RP-HPLC-FD were significantly higher (1.3-1.95-fold) than those obtained by the well-established spectrophotometric method. In the RP-HPLC-FD method, metallothionein increased linearly with Cu and Hg doses, being saturated beyond 100 mug kg(-1) Cd. Maximum induction was obtained at 100 microg kg(-1) Cd (5.3-fold), and 250 microg kg(-1) Cu or Hg (8- and 5.1-fold, respectively). At low doses no metallothionein induction was shown by the less sensitive spectrophotometric assay.  相似文献

Nanocomposites can be used as an acoustic panel to adsorb noise. The aim of this study was to evaluate: (1) acoustic, (2) physical, and (3) mechanical properties of agro-environmental nanocomposites. To prepare the nanocomposites, wood flour, PVA glue, and aluminum nanoparticles (between 1 and 4 %) were hardly mixed and heated at near 220 °C for 120 min. In the next step, sound absorption coefficient, transmission loss, water absorption percentage, thickness swelling percentage, density, flexural strength, flexural modulus, tensile strength, and tensile modulus of nanocomposites were measured. This study showed that the increase in nanoparticle percentage led to the increase in flexural strength, flexural modulus, water absorption percentage, thickness swelling percentage, density, and sound absorption coefficient. But, the increase in nanoparticle percentage led to the decrease in tensile strength, tensile modulus, and transmission loss. The authors think that the nanocomposites are suitable as an agro-industrial nanocomposite to reduce noise.  相似文献

The aim was to evaluate sound adsorption coefficient, sound transmission loss, mechanical properties, and physical characteristics of a novel nanocomposite, containing cellulose fiber (CF), polyvinyl acetate (PVA), and aluminum oxide nanoparticles (AO NPs). To prepare CF/PVA/AO NP nanocomposites, 100 g CF and 200 g PVA were hardly mixed, and then, AO NP at different contents was added, including 1–4%. The sound absorption coefficient and transmission loss were measured by acoustic tube at four frequencies, including 250, 500, 1000, and 2000 Hz. In the next step, density and water absorption were measured. Also, Young’s modulus, tensile strength, and strain to failure were recorded by extensometer. This study showed that the increase in AO NPs led to increase in sound adsorption coefficient, water adsorption, tensile strength, Young’s modulus, and fracture strain. Moreover, the increase in AO NPs led to decrease in sound transmission loss and density. The authors propose that CF/PVA/AO NPs (4%) nanocomposite is suitable to reduce noise from environment at frequency of 250–2000 Hz.  相似文献
