Flood is the most common disaster in the world and has acute or chronic health consequences including psychological sequels. Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is one of the main consequences. This study aimed to explore the psychological impacts (PTSD) in two flooded cities of Mazandaran Province, Neka and Behshahr, in the southeastern Caspian region that experienced flooding in 2012. A cross-sectional community-based study was performed on randomly selected samples of 400 individuals using GIS-based sampling from 139931 residents of the two flooded cities. The PTSS-10 questionnaire was used for data collection. The results showed that the overall stress disorder mean score among the participants was 2.59 out of 6. PTSD prevalence in the affected population was 64%. It was also found that stress scores significantly increased in younger people, male gender, the divorced, the widows or the widowers, and those who lost their properties (p < 0.05). Study findings showed that flood is a considerable stressor which develops PTSD. This finding should be taken into account in all four phases of disaster management cycle, and subsequently, specialized post-disaster mental health services must be provided for the afflicted population.  相似文献

Unfortunately in developing countries, human activities without attention to the environmental aspects damage to nature. For example, construction of large dams dries wetlands in southwest of Iran. Also, construction of dams is a very important factor for morphological changes. The case study of this research is downstream of the Karkheh dam. This dam is the largest Earth dam in Iran and locates in southwest of Iran. It was constructed in 1999. Small sinuosity coefficient of zone near to dam has been illustrated by satellite images in 2002 and 2014. This subject shows instability of this part of reach; also, the results of Shulits equation illustrate that this part is instable. But, increasing of morphological characteristics (sinuosity coefficient, central angle, and relative radius) show that stability of this reach is increasing. Surveying confirm this matter and shows that severe erosion in upstream and sedimentation in downstream of reach is finishing. Also, it is observed that flow discharge reduced (?56 %) after construction of dam and average width of river reduced (?21 %) from 2002 to 2014. In the early years after the construction of the dam, sediment discharge reduced considerably (?14 %) from Pay-e-Pol to Abdol Khan hydrometric stations. Increasing of morphological characteristics (especially at zones near to dam) and decreasing changes of bed level (sedimentation and erosion) prove that effects of dam are overcoming on effects of other factors, and these effects are permanent in long term.  相似文献

Crossing the flood on foot is one of the two major causes of flood-related death. This study was aimed to determine risk factors associated with risky behavior of crossing the flood on foot and modeling behavior of people when exposed to the flood. Data were gathered by a questionnaire in Quchan, a city of Iran. People with the age of 18–35 years old, those who do not take flood warnings seriously, individuals who do not have experience of exposure to flood and those who believe they have moderate to advanced level of swimming skills were identified as high risk groups. Appropriate group training programs can be set for them to reduce risky behavior of crossing the flood on foot.  相似文献

A reservoir landslide not only reduces the water storage capacity, but also causes extensive damages to the dam body, power/water transmission lines, roads, and other infrastructures. The Latian Dam, located 35 km north east of Tehran (Iran), is one of the cases which has encountered serious problems with instability of its rock abutments. This paper addresses the stability analysis of the right abutment of the Latian Dam using limit equilibrium and numerical methods. Geomechanical characteristics of the rock abutment were first estimated based on engineering classification of the rock mass. Different search methods were examined for locating the critical circular/non-circular slip surface in conjunction with the general limit equilibrium method. The effect of variability of rock mass properties, water table, and earthquake load on the factor of safety (FS) and probability of failure (PF) was studied. In the event of rapid drawdown in the reservoir, the limit equilibrium analysis calculated FS=1.067 and PF=21.1%, and the numerical analysis returned FS=1.01. The results of the analyses suggest that the right abutment of the Latian Dam is prone to slide and needs treatment. Investigations demonstrated that a slope reduction by 15° at the upper part of the abutment would meet stability conditions even in the worst-case scenario (FS=1.297 and PF=2.07%).  相似文献

Effective stress is one of the most important parameters which strongly affects pore volume compressibility curve, which is used in assessing the reservoir rock properties. It causes change in porosity as well as permeability of the reservoir rocks. In the present study, pore volume compressibility characteristics of the reservoir rocks at different effective stresses were used to derive the relationship of porosity and permeability with the effective stress. To this end, analytical processes for deriving the porosity–stress and permeability–stress relationships are discussed in relation to the reservoir rocks. As a result, a porosity–stress formulation is proposed which is in good agreement with the experimental data. Also, two formulas are proposed for permeability–stress relationship; one on the base of Kozeny–Carman permeability–porosity model and the other one is based on a differential form of permeability–porosity relationship. After calibrating the required coefficients for one sandstone and three limestones, it was concluded that the first permeability–stress model is the upper bound correlation while the latter is the lower bound. Furthermore, it is shown that the latter has better agreement to the real experimental data of the sansdstone samples, while the first one is close to the experimental observations from limestone samples. Also, it is concluded that structure of pores is a key factor on permeability–stress relationship, so that there is a significant difference between the experimental data and the proposed relationship for a limestone sample with vuggy pore spaces.  相似文献
