The energy distribution curves of eleven Ap stars, three Am stars, four normal A stars and one F0 V magnetic star have been obtained between 478 nm and 680 nm. For four of the Ap stars, two Am stars and all the four normal A stars, the effective temperatures are believed to have been estimated for the first time. For the rest, these estimates are expected to be an improvement over previously available values.It is concluded that the Ap and Am stars are not much different from the normal A stars in so far as their temperatures are concerned.  相似文献

A set of raw industrial materials, that is, pure quartz and quartz-rich mixtures, were investigated through electron paramagnetic resonance and electron spin echo-envelope modulation spectroscopies, with the aim of evaluating the effective role played by defect centres and of assessing whether they can be used to monitor changes in the physical properties of quartz powders with reference to their health effects. The obtained results point to two interactions of the Al defect centres with H+, hosted in sites within the channels parallel and perpendicular to the c axis of quartz, respectively. These two Al/H+ (hAl) centres exhibit a weak chemical bond, and their relative amounts appear to be modified/controlled by the thermo-mechanical processes underwent by powders. Indeed, a mechanically promoted inter-conversion between the two kinds of site is suggested. As a consequence, the hAl centres are effective in monitoring even modest activations of powders, through thermal or mechanical processes, and they are also supposed to play a specific, relevant role in quartz reactivity during the considered industrial processes.  相似文献

Long-term creep tests of gabbro which have been performed with a maximum bending stress (20 bar) under a high confining pressure (1 kbar) and various temperatures, are described. Methods and techniques used in the experiment are mainly similar to those reported previously by the same authors (Itô and Sasajima, 1980) except for the application of high pressure and temperature. The techniques include the bending system, size and preparation of the sample, and the determination of its deformation by use of interference fringes of Na-D light. In order to measure a very small deformation of creep, intermittent breaks of the application of loading, confining pressure and temperature are necessary, and the creep curve is constructed from the intermittent advance of permanent deformation.The experiment has revealed two strange phenomena : one is a sinuous progress of the creep curve, and the other is that the deformation recovery shows strange behavior after the unloading. These results are discussed in close connection with the mechanism of the “turn back of creep” denoted by Itô and Sasajima (1980). The mean creep curves, at 25°C. 95°C and 150°C, obtained so far lead to viscosities of 1.6 · 1020, 1.9 · 1019 and 4.8 · 1018 poise, respectively and the maximum strain rates employed in the samples were 4.2 · 10−14, 3.6 · 10−13 and 1.4 · 10−12/sec, respectively, which cover the geological strain rate. Although we have only three data points, the logarithm of viscosity is linearly related to the reciprocal of absolute temperature (see Fig. 7), and an activation energy for creep of gabbro is found to be 7.6 kcal/mol. It should be noted that viscosities obtained are considerably smaller than those estimated for the crust and mantle, and that the activation energy is surprisingly smaller than those obtained by high-pressure experiments of rock deformation, which have been carried out under a strain rate larger than 10−8/sec.  相似文献

Since August 1974 the authors have been carrying out an experiment on creep by bending three small granite beams and three gabbro beams. While making measurements, an optical flat is set to produce interference fringes of Na-D light upon the upper polished surface of the beam, which was previously bent convex upward. By analyzing the fringes the profile of the surface is determined with in an accuracy of one-tenth of a wavelength. The routine determination of profiles gives a change in the amount of bending with time.A similar experiment on two large beams of granite was carried out for 21 years by Kumagai and Itô. It took 10 years in order to find out the secondary creep of granite. However, in this three-year experiment it has been found that the secondary creep of the granite specimens gives a viscosity of about 1 · 1020 poise, which is comparable to that obtained over 20 years in the previous experiment (Kumagai and Itô). As for the gabbro specimens, the present authors cannot yet definitely recognize the secondary creep, because gabbro creeps much more slowly than granite.Both this and the previous experiments have revealed that the creep of rocks does not show a steady and monotonous progress, but a repeated “turn back” with various periods, some of which are longer than one year. In order to explain the creep accompanied by the “turn back” phenomenon, the authors venture to hypothesize that the elastic constants of a test-piece slightly vary with time during the advance of creep.  相似文献

Surface soil samples were collected in two karst Tiankengs, Dashiwei and Datuo, situated within the Dashiwei Tiankeng group, located in Leye County of Guangxi province, South China. The soil samples were analyzed for 23 kinds of organochlorine pesticides (OCPs) using a gas chromatography electron capture detector device. The results showed that the concentrations of OCPs in soils of Dashiwei Tiankeng ranged from 0.03 to 5.13 ng/g for total OCPs, not detectable (ND) to 0.22 ng/g for Hexachlorocyclohexane (HCHs), and 0.01 to 3.61 ng/g for Dichlorodiphenyltrichloroethane and metabolites (DDTs). Concentration of the total OCPs in soils of Datuo Tiankeng ranged from 0.13 to 14.36 ng/g, ND to 0.39 ng/g for HCHs, and 0.01 to 3.28 ng/g for DDTs. These concentrations indicated that there could be new inputs of HCHs and DDTs from recent application of lindane and dicofol in this area. Further analysis also revealed that the concentration of OCPs at the bottom of both Tiankengs was higher than the top. The variability in concentrations between the top and the bottom was attributed to the “cold trapping effect” for persistent organic pollutants (POPs) in karst Tiankeng topography. The difference in temperature between the top and bottom of Tiankeng is a predominating factor which can cause a POPs “cold trapping effect.” Other environmental factors are proposed to explain the difference in concentration such as humidity, topography (or slope), wind speed, wind direction, solar radiation, vegetation cover, and soil organic matter. The environmental condition of Dashiwei Tiankeng appears to favor the accumulation of OCPs than that of Datuo Tiankeng because Dashiwei Tiankeng is a matured Tiankeng but Datuo Tiankeng is a degraded one. Thus, there is the need for further studies on the environmental factors influencing distribution of OCPs in karst Tiankeng.  相似文献
