Computing the maximum and minimum values of the eccentricities and inclinations as functions of the arguments of perihelion for about 7000 numbered asteroids by adopting a simple model it is found that 80 have the minimum perihelion distances less than 1.04 AU. Still, it is proved that 20% of them have no chance of colliding with the Earth, whereas 30 of them have relatively high collision probability as they have orbits similar to those of typical short-period comets. 相似文献

Mesozoic brackish-water bivalve faunas in Japan diversified in three steps: at the beginning of the Early Jurassic, Early and Late Cretaceous. The Hettangian Niranohama Fauna in northeastern Honshu represents the establishment of a heterodont-dominated brackish-water fauna that persisted until the early Late Cretaceous. No similar composition is known from the Triassic. The infauna consists mostly of non-siphonate and some short-siphonate heterodonts, while the epifauna is represented by diverse pteriomorphian families. In the Early Cretaceous Tetori Group in central Honshu, the long-siphonate heterodonts Tetoria (Corbiculidae) and the semi-infaunal soft-bottom oyster Crassostrea appeared. The evolutionary diversification of the latter, known as the most important element of modern brackish-water faunas, may thus originate at that time. In the early Late Cretaceous (Cenomanian) of the Goshoura and Mifune Groups in west Kyushu, several euryhaline deep-burrowing heterodont families, such as Veneridae and Tellinidae, further diversified in the brackish and marine environments. The Late Cretaceous is characterized by massive shell biolithic beds in which large Crassostrea species are common, a feature common for Cenozoic brackish-water faunas. The long-term changes in the composition of the brackish-water faunas in Japan represents thus an evolutionary record, irrespective of the severe physiological and environmental conditions imposed on the highly conservative nature of the fauna. 相似文献

As the classical linear theory of secular perturbations for asteroids is known not to be adequate for computing the perturbations of asteroids with high eccentricities and/or inclinations, a seminumerical method to calculate the secular perturbations by including higher-degree terms in the disturbing function has been developed. It is here applied to asteroids with small values of , since the secular variations as well as their deviations from the results derived by the classical linear theory are generally large for such asteroids. It is found that the arguments of perihelion for five of the numbered asteroids are librating around 90 or 270°. For asteroids with less than 0.85 the results of the secular variations are tabulated. Also the stability of such orbits is discussed by comparing the orbital properties of short-periodic comets with them. Generally speaking, orbits of the asteroids are more stable than those of the short-periodic comets, and asteroids with librating arguments of perihelion are more stable than those with circular coplanar orbits although their orbital elements are changed more by secular perturbations. 相似文献

We assessed the accumulation of uranium (VI) by a bacterium, Bacillus subtilis, suspended in a slurry of kaolinite clay, to elucidate the role of microbes on the mobility of U(VI). Various mixtures of bacteria and the koalinite were exposed to solutions of 8 × 10− 6 M- and 4 × 10− 4 M-U(VI) in 0.01 M NaCl at pH 4.7. After 48 h, the mixtures were separated from the solutions by centrifugation, and treated with a 1 M CH3COOK for 24 h to determine the associations of U within the mixture. The mixture exposed to 4 × 10− 4 M U was analyzed by transmission electron microscope (TEM) equipped with EDS. The accumulation of U by the mixture increased with an increase in the amount of B. subtilis cells present at both U concentrations. Treatment of kaolinite with CH3COOK, removed approximately 80% of the associated uranium. However, in the presence of B. subtilis the amount of U removed was much less. TEM–EDS analysis confirmed that most of the U removed from solution was associated with B. subtilis. XANES analysis of the oxidation state of uranium associated with B. subtilis, kaolinite, and with the mixture containing both revealed that it was present as U(VI). These results suggest that the bacteria have a higher affinity for U than the kaolinite clay mineral under the experimental conditions tested, and that they can immobilize significant amount of uranium. 相似文献

Exact differential equations relating the perturbations to satellite orbital elements by the motion of the Earth's equatorial plane are derived, and they are solved to second order in precession. The system proposed in a previous paper (Kozai, 1960), in which the inclination and the argument of perigee are referred to the equator of date and the longitude of the ascending node is measured from a fixed point along a fixed plane and then along the equator of date, can still be recommended for precise studies of satellite motion even when the second-order perturbations are taken into account. 相似文献

Variability of wave-induced ripple migration in wave-flume experiments and its implications for sediment transport 总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
A thorough discussion of results from laboratory experiments with regular waves sheds light on the gap that lies between the sediment transport associated with ripple migration and the performance of a standard bedload transport formula in terms of bed shear concept. It is found that the extent of deviations of the bedload transport formula by Ribberink (1998) from the measured rate of sediment transport associated with ripple migration becomes systematically apparent under conditions of increasing settling time factor Ωs (= η/(w0T); η is the ripple height, w0 the settling velocity and T the wave period). Re-examination of previous two field studies demonstrates a further reinforcement for phase-lag argument addressed in this paper. 相似文献

Secular perturbations of asteroids are derived for mean motion resonance cases under the assumptions that the disturbing planets are moving along circular orbits on the same plane and that critical arguments are fixed at stable equilibrium points. Under these assumptions the equations of motion are reduced to those of one degree of freedom with the energy integral. Then equi-energycurves on (2g-X) plane (g and X being, respectively, the argument of perihelion and (1–e2)1/2) are derived for given values of the two constant parameters, the semi-major axis and =(1–e2)1/2 cos i, and the variations of the eccentricity and the inclination as functions of the argument of perihelion are graphically estimated. In fact this method is applied to numbered asteroids with commensurable mean motions to estimate the ranges of the variations of orbital elements.The same method is also applied to the Pluto-Neptune system and the results are found to agree with those of numerical integrations and show that the argument of perihelion of Pluto librates around 90°. 相似文献
