Computer simulation of subduction was performed using nonlinear equations of deformable solid mechanics encompassing all types of nonlinearity: geometric, physical, and contact. This study presents a numerical model of subduction with allowance for the gabbro-to-eclogite phase transition. The model rheology is a plastic compressible material (Mohr-Coulomb law for a deformed rock material). It was shown that deep subduction can be modeled well with the selection of appropriate parameters of rock plasticity providing the initial thickening in the subducting slab nose.  相似文献

Estimates of the PT parameters of metamorphism, the first results of U–Pb dating of zircons from migmatites of the Teletsk–Chulyshman metamorphic belt, are reported. The age of migmatites from the southern block of the Teletsk–Chulyshman belt is 483.9 ± 5.7 Ma. As is evident from the pressure estimate (≤3–4 kbar), the Chulyshman migmatite–gneiss complex could be an apical part of the thermal–dome structure formed during the Early Ordovician thermal impact of a shallow magmatic basic thermal source, later displaced to the appropriate depth along the thrust at the collisional stage.  相似文献

Previous dynamic models of the Baikal Rift Zone (BRZ) are mostly two-dimensional on vertical plane. In this study, a numerical model of neotectonics in the region on map view was constructed using the adapted PLATES program. The present work is an attempt to test different mechanisms for opening Baikal Rift by comparing the modelled and observed stress and strain rate fields. The following rifting scenarios were tested: (1) pure northwest–southeast extension, (2) pure northeast–southwest compression, (3) oblique rift opening and (4) combined northwest–southeast extension and northeast–southwest compression. The models are calibrated using geologically and GPS-derived strain rates and stress-tensor determinations from fault-slip data and earthquake focal mechanisms. The most successful model requires a combination of NE–SW compression and orthogonal extension. The model results indicate that the present extensional regime in BRZ can be explained by combining the India plate indentation northward into Eurasia, east–west convergence between the North America and Eurasia plates and southeastward extrusion of the Amur plate in northeastern Asia. Predicted fault-slip rates for the best-fit model are consistent with the observed Holocene fault-slip rates in the Lake Baikal region. The generally accepted rotation of the Amur and Mongolia microplates are used as independent constraints for the choice of the best-fit model. These data correlate well with the predicted direction of rotation in our best model.  相似文献

The results of numerical mathematical modeling of rock deformations under compression are given. The numerical solutions are obtained using discretization of the equations of the solid mechanics with the finite element method. The model of an ideal elastic-plastic material with a Huber-Mises yield surface was used in the calculations. The layered medium structure is taken into account in modeling of the compression of layers of the lower/middle crust on a local scale. The natural folds in strongly deformed metamorphic sequences were reproduced by the mathematical deformation models. It is shown that folding in the lower part of the Earth’s crust is possible, when the yield stresses of the host rocks are approximately two orders of magnitude less than those of the hard layers. The effect of the boundary conditions and thickness of the compressed rocks on the folding is shown.  相似文献

The high resolution laboratory spectrum of hot water vapour has been recorded in the 500–13 000 cm−1 wavenumber range and we report on the analysis of the 4750–13 000 cm−1 (0.769–2.1 μm) portion. The emission spectrum was recorded using an oxy-acetylene welding torch and a Fourier transform spectrometer. Line assignments in the laboratory spectrum as well as in an absorption spectrum of a sunspot umbra were made with the help of the BT2 line-list. Our torch spectrum is the first laboratory observation of the 9300 Å'steam bands' seen in M-stars and brown dwarfs.  相似文献

The multispectral satellite imaging system (MSIS) aboard the Meteor-M No. 1 spacecraft (SC) has surveyed the territory of Russia and neighboring countries in three-bands of the visible and near-IR ranges with a resolution of 60/120 m in a swath of more than 900 km for three years. The MSIS data, supple-mented by synchronous navigational information, are automatically received, pipeline processed, archived, and cataloged at ground-based receiving stations in Moscow, Novosibirsk, and Khabarovsk. These data are used to solve a wide range of land-use, environmental, and emergency monitoring problems; assess ice situations in seas, rivers, and lakes; etc. The further development of imaging instruments for operational monitoring is aimed at increasing its resolution to 20–30 m in a simultaneously expanded swath of 1600–1800 km, allowing for imaging of most of the territory of Russia with inter-orbit overlapping.  相似文献
