Changes in air temperature in administrative districts of the Russian Federation are studied. The in-regional homogeneity of modern climate changes is estimated based on several criteria for the first half of the 20th century and for the next period. The relation between regional changes in mean annual and seasonal temperatures and global air temperature is considered, and an empirical forecast for one or two decades is suggested to be made on its basis. Empirical regional forecasts of a rate of changes in mean annual air temperature are compared with the calculation results from five general circulation models.  相似文献

The results of the numerical modeling of the Gulf Stream region based upon the σ-model of the Institute of Computational Mathematics of the Russian Academy of Sciences are presented. The model reproduces the dynamics of the Gulf Stream meanders, the formation of warm and cold rings, and their further evolution. A simple physical mechanism leading to the westward drift of the rings of the main ocean mid-latitude frontal currents is considered. A simple theoretical model that makes it possible to estimate the westward ring drift is proposed. A comparison of the theory with the numerical results confirms the validity of the theoretical estimates and the physical adequacy of the model.  相似文献

The electric state of the middle-latitude convective atmospheric boundary layer (ABL) is investigated during a point in time when it is not disturbed by clouds, precipitation, mist, or industrial aerosols. A numerical model is developed that estimates the electroaerodynamic state of the convective ABL. The model is parameterized using results of field observations and laboratory experiments. According to the model, vertical profiles of atmospheric electric field strength, space charge density, electric conductivity, and atmospheric electric current density are calculated in the horizontally homogeneous approximation with a high space-time resolution.  相似文献

Century-scale near-surface air temperature data from 744 weather stations in Russia and neighboring countries indicate that the temperature variations have distinct temporal patterns. Two periods, near the beginning and at the end of the 20th century, experienced the largest warming rates. Temperature changes in both periods were not uniform in time or space. We used statistical criteria and applied them to data at the weather stations to define a “tipping point” corresponding to the beginning of the modern climatic period. Results indicate that the position of this point depends on location, and in most cases falls into the interval from the early 1970s through the late 1980s. By means of spatial correlation analysis we delineated regions with coherent air temperature changes and calculated the region-specific rates and magnitudes of changes. We compared the distribution of regional tipping points in time and over space with large-scale atmospheric circulation patterns over northern Eurasia. We analyzed the 20th—early 21st century changes in the relative frequencies of the three circulation forms defined by Vangengheim-Girs classification, and found their qualitative correspondence with the spatial temperature patterns and spread of the tipping points in time. These results improve our knowledge about the regional structure and drivers of modern climate change in northern Eurasia, which is likely to hold the fingerprint of the anthropogenic signal. Findings of this study can be used to obtain insight into regional climatic changes in northern Eurasia over the next few decades.  相似文献

Presented are the estimates of precipitation amount and evaporation for the Black Sea basin based on the data of numerical regional reanalysis. The spatial distribution of considered variables is compared with the results obtained before using the method of extrapolation of measurements at the coastal meteorological stations. The computed water balance components of the Black Sea compared with the available literature data are used for obtaining the estimate of the mean water discharge in the Bosphorus.  相似文献

Numerous studies have demonstrated that both global patterns and local details of permafrost distribution are highly responsive to climatic fluctuations, at several temporal and spatial scales. Permafrost currently underlies about one fourth of the land area of the northern hemisphere, and many qualitative predictions have been made for a severe reduction of this area in response to global warming. A map of permafrost distribution compiled using the frost index, a dimensionless number that can be related to the zonal arrangement of permafrost, shows very good correspondence with a recently published empirical map. The frost index was used in conjunction with three transient general circulation models to compile maps of permafrost zonation for conditions in the mid-21st century. Although regional patterns and local details differ substantially between the three scenarios, all result in reductions in the area occupied by each permafrost zone. Localized expansions of the area underlain by permafrost are apparent from two of the scenarios. Reductions in the areal extent of equilibrium permafrost predicted from two of the three transient models are much less than those indicated by runs using 2 × CO models.  相似文献

The results of in situ ground-based observations of radon volumetric activity carried out at the Borok Geophysical Observatory of Schmidt Institute of Physics of the Earth of the Russian Academy of Sciences (58°04′ N; 38°14′ E) are presented. Modeling the characteristic diurnal variation in the ion production rate in the undisturbed midlatitude lower atmosphere above land is carried out. The Lagrangian stochastic model of turbulent transport is developed in application to determining the vertical profiles of radon activity for 222Rn and 220Rn isotopes and their radioactive decay products. The results calculated by the Lagrangian stochastic model are matched with the analytical solution for the free atmosphere. Based on the model, the estimate is obtained for the rate of radon outflow from the convective boundary layer to the free clear sky atmosphere. The implications of temperature stratification of the atmosphere for the vertical distribution of the ion production rate at the different radon emission rate are explored.  相似文献

Based on the theory of two-phase interacting nanoparticles, the formation of thermoremanent and chemical remanent magnetization in nanosized titanomagnetites is modeled. It is shown that the value of thermoremanent magnetization barely depends on the degree of titanomagnetite exsolution whereas, chemical remanent magnetization which emerges during the exsolution increases up to at most the value of thermoremanent magnetization. The values of the ratio of thermoremanent to ideal magnetization, R t , fall within the limits 0.8 ≤ R t ≤ 1. The analogous ratio of chemical remanent magnetization to the ideal R c are below R t at all stages of the exsolution. Besides, the magnetic interaction between the nanoparticles reduces the values of thermoremanent and chemical magnetization but barely affects the ratio.  相似文献
