The methods and results of stacking of seismograms of nuclear explosions registered by the world network of seismic stations from 1980 until 1988 are presented. Stacking of seismograms obtained at one seismic station from the sources located in the same place allows us substantially to increase the useful signal/noise ratio. This, in turn, allows more confident correlation of various seismic waves coming to the seismic stations after the first arrivals, particularly, converted and reflected waves from different boundaries inside the Earth.  相似文献

The analysis of the recorded geophysical information shows that there is a large spread in probability of instrument readings at the moment of seismic activity. In order to lower demands for computer data resources and decrease the power consumption when applying autonomous computer-based systems, the coding algorithms with minimal requirements for the involvement of the computer central processor and, as a consequence, its power consumption are used. These include the Huffman static algorithm and algorithms using Elias, Rice, Golomb, and Fibonacci codes. The application of Fibonacci codes for coding this information leads to a gain in compression ratio of 10–30% relative to other coding methods.  相似文献

The velocity curve previously obtained for P waves in the Earth is used to determine the distributions of the density and elastic parameters. The density distribution in the new model differs from that in the standard PREM model only in the inner core. The distributions of the bulk and shear moduli can differ, depending on physical processes in the Earth. In particular, the bulk modulus can have a negative jump at the outer-inner core boundary, whereas the shear modulus can differ from zero in the lower part of the outer core.  相似文献

This paper reports the calculation data on wave fields for the Earth’s model including the mantle and external and internal core with real parameters. The investigation has made it possible to identify physical phenomenon unknown previously such as the formation of the wave field focusing region in the Earth, emerging to the day surface before the first PKP-wave. This is due to the fact that spherical bodies (in this case, the low-velocity core of the Earth) are characterized by the collecting lens properties.

It is shown that, in accordance with the data used when determining velocity distribution in the Earth’s core [14], so called “precursor” earthquakes cannot be produced by wave scattering to lower mantle inhomogeneities, because seismic rays linking the earthquake sources and seismic stations are located in different inner zones of the Earth and travel at different azimuths, producing a stable wave pattern on aggregate. Thus, the present work considers the fundamental problem regarding what precursor earthquakes are. Solution of this problem will guide ideas about the structure of the Earth’s core.  相似文献

Some aspects of the seismicity the Caucasus are considered based on the earthquake catalog from 1962 to 2011, which includes data on about 40000 seismic events with magnitudes from ?1.0 to 7.5. Correlation equations between the energy classes and magnitudes of the earthquakes are calculated. Interannual changes in the Gutenberg-Richter relationship and seasonal cycles of seismic energy release are revealed.  相似文献
