In the frame of 2D-static problems one approaches the problem of elastic-NRT (not-resisting tension) semi-plane loaded on its limit line. This problem is intended to model the stress situation induced in the soil by a foundation structure. The solution, in terms of activated stress field, is searched for in the class of stress fields satisfying equilibrium and admissibility conditions, by applying an energy approach. Trans-Neptunian Objects (TNOs) and Centaurs show remarkable colour variationsin the visual and near-infrared spectral regions. Surface alteration processes such asspace weathering (e.g., bombardment with ions) and impact resurfacingmay play an important role in the colour diversity of such bodies. Ion irradiation ofhydrocarbon ices and their mixtures with water ice transforms neutral (grey) surfacecolours of ices to red and further to grey. Along with the ices, TNOs and Centaursprobably contain complex carbonaceous compounds, in particular, complexhydrocarbons. Unlike ices, such refractory organic materials have originally lowvisual albedos and red colours in the visible and near-infrared ranges. Here wepresent the first results of ion irradiation experiments on asphaltite. Asphaltite isa natural complex hydrocarbon material. The reflectance spectra of asphaltite inthe 0.4–0.8 μm range have been recorded before irradiation and after eachirradiation step. We demonstrate that irradiation of this red dark material with30 keV H+ and 15 keV N+ ions gradually transforms its colour from redto grey as a result of carbonization. A moderate increase in the visual albedo hasbeen observed. These results may imply that the surfaces of primitive red objectsoptically dominated by complex refractory organics may show a similar spaceweathering trend. Our laboratory results were compared with published coloursof TNOs and Centaurs. A broad variety of spectral colours observed for TNOs andCentaurs may be reproduced by various spectra of irradiated organics correspondingto different ion fluences. However, such objects probably also contain ices and silicatecomponents which show different space weathering trends. This fact, together with alack of information about albedos, may explain difficulties to reveal correlations between surface colours within TNO and Centaur populations and their other properties, such as absolute magnitudes and orbital parameters.  相似文献

We give an overview of the Car phenomenon on the basis of ground and space observations. We discuss in particular the IRAS images. We conclude that Car, initially with a mass > 100M , is presently an intermediate-type hypergiant withL=5×106 L , in a rapid evolutionary stage. For many years an ongoing research program performed at our laboratory has had the aim to investigate the implantation of reactive ions in ices relevant to planetology by using IR spectroscopy. We present new results obtained by implanting 200 keV sulfur ions into water ice at 80 K. We have looked at the formation of sulfur-bearing molecules such as sulfuric acid, sulfur dioxide and hydrogen sulfide. We find that hydrated sulfuric acid is formed with high yield (0.65±0.1 molecules/ion). An upper limit to the production yield of SO2 (Y0.025 molecules/ion) has been estimated; no hydrogen sulfide has been detected. The formation of hydrogen peroxide is confirmed. Ozone is not detected. The results are discussed relevant to the inquiry on the radiolytic sulfur cycle considered responsible for the formation of sulfur-bearing molecules on the surfaces of the Galilean satellites. We demonstrate that sulfur implantation efficiently forms hydrated sulfuric acid whose observed abundance is explained as caused by an exogenic process. It is more difficult to say if the observed sulfur dioxide is quantitatively supported by only sulfur implantation; additional experimental studies are necessary along with direct observations, especially at UV wavelengths such as those that could be performed by instruments on board Hubble Space Telescope or by the forthcoming World Space Observatory (WSO/UV).  相似文献

We present the analyses results of two bulk Terminal Particles, C2112,7,171,0,0 and C2112,9,171,0,0, derived from the Jupiter‐family comet 81P/Wild 2 returned by the Stardust mission. Each particle embedded in a slab of silica aerogel was pressed in a diamond cell. This preparation, as expected, made it difficult to identify the minerals and organic materials present in these particles. This problem was overcome using a combination of three different analytical techniques, viz. FE‐SEM/EDS, IR, and Raman microspectroscopy that allowed identifying the minerals and small amounts of amorphous carbon present in both particles. TP2 and TP3 were dominated by Ca‐free and low‐Ca, Mg‐rich, Mg,Fe‐olivine. The presence of melilite in both particles is supported by IR microspectroscopy, but is not confirmed by Raman microspectroscopy, possibly because the amounts are too small to be detected. TP2 and TP3 show similar silicate mineral compositions, but Ni‐free and low‐Ni, subsulfur (Fe,Ni)S grains are present in TP2 only. TP2 contains indigenous amorphous carbon hot spots; no indigenous carbon was identified in TP3. These nonchondritic particles probably originated in a differentiated body. This work found an unanticipated carbon contamination following the FE‐SEM/EDS analyses. It is suggested that organic materials in the embedding silica aerogel are irradiated during FE‐SEM/EDS analyses creating a carbon gas that develops a strong fluorescence continuum. The combination of the selected analytical techniques can be used to characterize bulk Wild 2 particles without the need of extraction and removal of the encapsulating aerogel. This approach offers a relatively fast sample preparation procedure, but compressing the samples can cause spurious artifacts, viz. silica contamination. Because of the combination of techniques, we account for these artifacts.  相似文献

Silicates are one of the principal components present in Solar System objects.Silicates evolve in space modifying their physical properties according to theastronomical environments they go through. To characterise the nature of TNOsin the framework of the formation and evolution of the Solar System, experimentson structural transitions of silicates have been performed in the laboratoryto simulate some of the processing suffered by the dust. The infrared spectralproperties of possible silicate candidates thought to be present in TNOs have beenstudied. The results of thermal annealing of amorphous silicates and amorphisationof crystalline forsterite (pure-Mg olivine) by ion irradiation are presented. Theobservable properties of TNOs surfaces are inferred.  相似文献

Experimental results on the interaction between fast bombarding ions and solid targets simulating satellite surfaces in the Outer Solar System are reviewed. Applications to Jovian, Saturnian, Uranian, Neptunian, and Plutonian systems suggest the important role played by cosmic and magnetospheric ions in eroding material, in redistributing it on the surfaces of some objects, and in producing either thin or thick mantles of dark organics.  相似文献

This paper deals with seismic excitation of linearly elastic structures. It is well known that dynamical structural response is very sensitive to random fluctuations of the excitation; the consequence is that the identification of the forcing function on the basis of a few ‘global’ parameters does not allow to predict exhaustively stresses in seismically excited structures. In the paper, a convex model is established to treat uncertainty associated with the ‘details’ of the excitation, in order to set bounds on the response parameters of a SDOF system, assuming that only rough information is available for expected earthquakes at a given site. In particular, we assume that the maximum expected ‘energy’ of the accelerogram, and the maximum ‘distance’ of its power spectrum from the target spectrum, typical for the site under construction, are specified. © 1998 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

We present near-IR (2.2-2.4 μm) reflectance and transmittance spectra of frozen (16 and 77 K) methanol (CH3OH) and water-methanol (1:1) mixtures before and after irradiation with 30 keV He+ and 200 keV H+ ions. Spectra of other simple hydrocarbons (CH4, C2H2, C2H4, C2H6) and CO have also been obtained both to help in the identification of the new molecules formed after ion irradiation of methanol-rich ices, and to get insight into the question of the presence of simple frozen hydrocarbons on the surface of some objects in the outer Solar System. The results confirm what obtained by studies performed in different spectral ranges, namely the ion-induced formation of CO and CH4, and, for the first time, evidence a strong decrease of the intensity of the methanol band at about 2.34 μm in comparison with that at 2.27 μm. The results are discussed in view of their relevance for icy objects in the Solar System (namely comets, Centaurs, and Kuiper belt objects) where CH3OH has been observed or suggested to be present.  相似文献

The classical performance index optimization control algorithm is considered in order to check the real optimality of the control procedure; the basic steps for the optimal algorithm are reviewed, and the equation for the optimal control force derived. It is shown that the optimality conditions cannot be met with regard to the performance index, unless one is concerned with simple free oscillations. It is proved that in this case on one side the optimal control turns out to be of the linear closed‐loop type, yielding explicit optimal control coefficients, and on the other side that no solution can exist of the optimal problem for a generic forcing function. It is concluded that one is forced to calibrate the control force for free oscillations, and that the reliability of the index procedure mainly rests on some implicit expectation that linear control can be calibrated in the absence of the external disturbance and that it works under forced oscillations as well. Furthermore, the problem of delayed active control, with reference to a s.d.o.f. system controlled by a closed‐loop linear algorithm and under the action of a dynamic forcing function is investigated. In particular, the effects produced on the response of the structure by the introduction in the control law of assessed critical values of time delay are analysed and the comparison is proposed between the numerical results that one gets by adopting two different procedures (on one hand the above‐mentioned optimal linear control law and on the other hand the constrained minimization of the structural response norm) to compensate for time lag occurring in the actuation of the active control servomechanisms.
