The published photometric and spectroscopic data of the symbiotic binary V 1329 Cyg are interpreted. It is shown, that V 1329 Cyg is an eclipsing binary with an elliptical orbit orbit (e=0.28). The cooler component fills up the Roche-lobe at periastron. A model of moving gaseous structures in the system is proposed and their influence on the radial velocity curve is shown. The following characteristics of the system are derived: the cooler component is an M6 giant with mass 7.9M
, radius 339R
and luminosityM
bol=–5.42, the hot component is a white dwarf surrounded by an accretion disk. The mean distance between the components is 842R
and in periastron it decreases to 605R

High-resolution, time-resolved spectroscopic observations of Z CMa carried out on 1997 January 14–17 are presented. Large night-to-night and hour-to-hour variations in Hα, Hβ and Na i D P Cygni absorptions, as well as an Hβ emission peak, were observed. Variations in the red wings of the hydrogen emission lines were also detected. The high-velocity wide-emission component on the blue side of Hα appeared on January 17. The observations are discussed in the framework of current wind models. 相似文献

From the observed light curves of six eclipsing binaries with solar-type activity and from the analysis of their period variations some problems in the interpretation of the observations came out: Are these binaries similar to classical RS CVn stars? Is the stellar surface spot coverage the unique interpretation of the observed light curves? Are these systems really linked with W UMa's? In a further study some models will be tempted to try to solve these problems. 相似文献

We present three colour photoelectric observations of CI Cyg during the 1980 eclipse. Some interesting photometric peculiarities are shown that must be taken into account for a theoretical model of this eclipsing symbiotic star. 相似文献

We analyze ultraviolet spectra of DF Tau, a binary system whose primary component is a classical T Tauri star. The spectra were obtained from the Hubble Space Telescope and the IUE satellite. The stellar emission in the wavelength range covered is shown to originate in an accretion shock wave. The gas infall velocity is ~250 km s?1. The accreted-gas density is typically N 0≤1011 cm?3, but it can occasionally be higher by one and a half orders of magnitude. The continuum intensity near λ=1900 Å was found to be virtually constant for such a significant change in N 0. The star’s photometric variability is probably attributable to variations in accreted-gas density and velocity, as well as to variations in the area of a hot spot on the stellar surface and in its orientation relative to the observer. The mean accretion rate is $\dot M \sim 3 \times 10^{ - 9} M_ \odot yr^{ - 1}$ . The interstellar extinction for DF Tau is $A_V \simeq 0\mathop .\limits^m 5$ , the stellar radius is ≤2R ⊙, and the luminosity of the primary component is most likely no higher than 0.3 L ⊙. We argue that the distance to DF Tau is about 70 pc. Upper limits are placed on the primary’s coronal emission measure: EM(T=107 K)<3×1054 cm?3 and EM(T=1.3×106 K)<3×1055 cm?3. Absorption lines originating in the stellar wind were detected in the star’s spectrum. Molecular hydrogen lines have essentially the same radial velocity as the star, but their full width at half maximum is FWHM ?50 km s?1. We failed to explain why the intensity ratio of the C IV λ1550 doublet components exceeds 2. 相似文献

We present a quantitative model of a proposed common slowly expanding envelope corotating with a symbiotic binary system. The geometry of the envelope is defined by the equipotential surface containing the Lagrangian pointL
2. The model was applied to the symbiotic binary EG And. The orbital inclination,i = 45°, and mass ratio of the cool to the hot component,q = 2.8–3.0, are determined. The nature of the primary as well as the secondary minima in the light curves, development of the line profiles, radial velocities and equivalent widths of the H line through an orbital revolution are explained by this model. 相似文献

The variations of line profiles in the spectrum of FU Ori during several consecutive nights, from January 3 through January 8, 1999, have been traced for the first time in the entire history of studying this star. The variations of the Hα and Na I D line profiles are regular in pattern; at each time, the profiles of these lines were similar to a particular profile observed previously, suggesting that the phenomenon is periodic. We argue that the profile variations result from the axial rotation of the inner accretion-disk and disk-wind regions for which the temperature distribution and the wind-streamline orientation are not axisymmetric. The cause of the asymmetry could be the interaction of circumstellar matter with the stellar magnetic field if the magnetic axis is greatly inclined to the rotation axis. The possible binary nature of FU Ori seems a less likely cause of the asymmetry. 相似文献
