Line and band intensities of Mira type variables from Keenan's Catalogue (1966) and some other sources are discussed in relation to statistical population indices characterizing positions and motions of these stars. Residual intensity estimates of Ca 4226, Cr 4254, TiO, VO, ScO, YO prove to be stronger in population I Miras, whereas H em line is definitely stronger in population II stars. The coefficient of correlation between residual line or band intensity and the partial statistical population index, depending principally on the star distance to the galactic plane, grows with increasing mass number of the corresponding element.  相似文献

Large mysticete whales represent a unique challenge for chemical risk assessment. Few epidemiological investigations are possible due to the low incidence of adult stranding events. Similarly their often extreme life-history adaptations of prolonged migration and fasting challenge exposure assumptions. Molecular biomarkers offer the potential to complement information yielded through tissue chemical analysis, as well as providing evidence of a molecular response to chemical exposure. In this study we confirm the presence of cytochrome P450 reductase (CPR) and cytochrome P450 isoenzyme 1A1 (CYP1A1) in epidermal tissue of southern hemisphere humpback whales (Megaptera novaeangliae). The detection of CYP1A1 in the integument of the humpback whale affords the opportunity for further quantitative non-destructive investigations of enzyme activity as a function of chemical stress.  相似文献

Assuming that some exchange of energy between stars in the galactic disk may be at work, I have generalized the formulae expressing the growth of the velocity variance with time by adding a mass term (M/M ) with =0.35, which is a good fit to the kinematic data for young stars. The generalized formulae (5a) and (5b) and the evolutionary mass-age relation (Iben, 1967) were used jointly to derive mass and age values for different stellar species. The extent of the Variscan deformation front is one of the key problems of the regional geology of the Central European Permian Basin system, particularly in its Polish part. Conventional reflection seismics usually fails to produce a satisfactory image of the pre-Permian strata due to the shielding effect of Zechstein (Upper Permian) evaporites. Thus we used a novel seismic acquisition technique to study the base of the Permian complex and its Variscan basement. In the GRUNDY 2003 experiment we combined wide-angle reflection–refraction measurements with the near-vertical reflection seismics by the use of the constant geophone array with dense (100 m) receiver spacing occupying 50-km long profile. 3D design of the experiment, covering 50 × 10 km area, helped in eliminating the effect of out-of-plane propagations and local inhomogeneities. An effective integration of traveltime tomography, CDP reflection processing and prestack depth migration of wide-angle reflections applied to our data, allowed us to present the model in which we deduced the contact zone of the Variscan overthrust structure (Variscan front) with its molasse-filled foredeep. The latter might be a gas-generation zone, which is of a great importance for hydrocarbons prospecting in this area.  相似文献
