An investigation is presented on the very low-frequency electrostatic drift waves due to the motion of the plasma particles in the combined effect of the static magnetic field and the inhomogeneous particle distribution in a dusty plasma using the Vlasov-kinetic model of plasmas. These modes arise and are driven unstable due to the equilibrium diamagnetic currents of heavier species of the dusty plasma. Propagation of the dust-acoustic shock waves (DASWs) in a dusty plasma containing arbitrarily charged dust, positive and negative ions following nonthermal (Cairn’s) distribution, and electrons following q-(nonextensive) distribution, has been investigated. The reductive perturbation technique is used to derive the Burgers equation for dust’s fluid dynamics. The basic features (viz. polarity, amplitude, speed, etc.) of DASWs are found to be significantly modified due to the effects of arbitrarily charged dust, number density and temperatures of heavier/lighter ions, nonextensive electrons, and dust kinematic viscosity. The present investigation can be very effective for understanding the nonlinear characteristics of the DASWs in space and laboratory dusty plasmas.  相似文献

The present exercise is a study to enquire into the recent climatic transition, if any in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Conventional climatic indicators such as rainfall distribution, temperature regime, relative humidity, sunshine duration, wind velocity and evaporation characteristics were examined over a period of twenty six years of available meteorological data. The analyses showed a remarkable mutual resemblance and unidirectional trend in all the temperature parameters like absolute monthly maximum, absolute monthly minimum, mean monthly maximum, mean monthly minimum and mean monthly temperatures and the mean monthly maximum and mean monthly minimum relative humidities. Similarly, the trends in sunshine duration, wind velocity and pan evaporation were also supportingly in accordance to the general trends of climatic transition. The analysis based on a smaller period climatic data shows a good deal of agreement with the trends of studies on global warming projections made by simulated models on the basis of CO2 concentration changes in the atmosphere.  相似文献

The self-modulation of weakly relativistic plasma waves in equal mass (electron-positron) plasmas has been investigated by employing the Krylov-Bogoliubov-Mitropolsky perturbation technique. It is found that one-dimensional electron plasma waves are modulationally stable and that they can propagate in the form of dark envelope solitons.  相似文献
