The isotopic composition of ground ice in lacustrine deposits of different age in the Taimyr Peninsula is discussed. It is shown that the combined use of two isotopic indicators (2H and 18O) provides additional information (unavailable when any of the isotopes is used alone) about the conditions of formation of segregated ground ice.  相似文献

The redistribution of stable isotopes allows specifying the pathway of substrate utilization and identifying the relevant kinetic parameters. To describe degradation kinetics and identify predominant metabolic pathway for microbial substrate transformation, new basic equations, which take into account the dynamics of heavier isotope in the substrate, intermediates, and products were added to the common model of microbial substrate transformation, which did consider isotope differences at any step of substrate transformation. Using the unified approach, we showed that the dynamic changes of isotope fractionation depend on the kinetic coefficients, the initial conditions, and the microorganisms participating in the reactions during microbial denitrification, anaerobic oxidation of methane by sulphate and nitrite, aerobic oxidation of methane gas, and anaerobic digestion of cellulose.  相似文献

The results of determinations of macro- and microelement concentrations (Mn, Fe, Ba, Sr, Rb, Si, Pb, and U) in the interstitial water in four cores of bottom sediments sampled in the deep-water areas of the Southern and Middle Caspian Sea are compared with the concentrations of these elements in the free water of the Caspian Sea. The data obtained amplify the present-day concept on the geochemical and ecological states of the sea.  相似文献

The distribution of some microelements (Sr, Si, Ba, Mo, Rb, and Mn) in the surface and deep-sea waters in various parts of the Caspian Sea is considered in comparison with the distribution of salt-forming macroelements. The observed mean concentrations of microelements and their variations over the sea area and with depth indicate to the presence of additional, other than Volga runoff, sources supplying Sr, Ba, U, Rb, and Mn to the Caspian Sea.  相似文献

Water Resources - The reliability of various scenarios of vertical structure formation in Caspian Sea water was analyzed based on the distribution of transient tracers (CFC-11, CFC-12, 3H, and 3He)...  相似文献

The isotopic and material composition of bottom deposits, examined in the Kara-Bogaz-Gol Gulf, Lake Issyk-Kul, and the Aral Sea, is considered. The obtained data are used to characterize variations in the regime of the water bodies in the Holocene.  相似文献

Mean concentrations of microelements Mn, Rb, Sr, Mo, Ba, Fe, Cu, and U in the Caspian Sea evaluated based on the results of water sampling in 1995 are given. The obtained values are checked against the requirements to the characteristics of water bodies used for fishery.  相似文献

Results of the sampling for temperature, salinity, and isotopic composition of water masses that was performed in the Caspian Sea at deepwater stations along a meridional profile during the international expeditions of 1994–1996 are presented. The water-exchange processes in this basin are analyzed on the basis of the distributions of salinity and isotopes in space and time.  相似文献

Analysis of changes in the vertical distribution of tritium in the Caspian Sea water mass in 1994–1996 led to a conclusion that the sea level fall that started in 1996 was accompanied by a rearrangement of the water mass steady hydrological structure characteristic of the high sea-level stand.__________Translated from Vodnye Resursy, Vol. 32, No. 4, 2005, pp. 406–409.Original Russian Text Copyright © 2005 by Brezgunov, Ferronskii.  相似文献
