Possible changes in the area inhabited by the ticks Ixodes ricinus and Ixodes persulcatus, the main transmitters of tick-borne encephalitis and Lyme disease in Russia, caused by temperature changes in 1976–2005 compared to 1946–1975 are discussed. It is shown that these changes could result in some areal expansion of these species. In the European part of Russia, I. ricinus expanded its areal boundaries to the east 100–300 km. I. persulcatus expanded its areal in the Asian part of Russia. Its boundary moved to the north and northeast 100–300 km. Areal expansion both of species has not been observed.  相似文献

Global electron content (GEC) as a new ionospheric parameter was first proposed by Afraimovich et al. [2006]. GEC is equal to the total number of electrons in the near-Earth space. GEC better than local parameters reflects the global response to a change in solar activity. It has been indicated that, during solar cycle 23, the GEC dynamics followed similar variations in the solar UV irradiance and F 10.7 index, including the 11-year cycle and 27-day variations. The dynamics of the regional electron content (REC) has been considered for three belts: the equatorial belt and two midlatitude belts in the Northern and Southern hemispheres (±30° and 30°–65° geomagnetic latitudes, respectively). In contrast to GEC, the annual REC component is clearly defined for the northern and southern midlatitude belts; the REC amplitude is comparable with the amplitude of the seasonal variations in the Northern Hemisphere and exceeds this amplitude in the Southern Hemisphere by a factor of ~1.7. The dayside to nightside REC ratio, R(t), at the equator is a factor of 1.5 as low as such a GEC ratio, which indicates that the degree of nighttime ionization is higher, especially during the solar activity maximum. The pronounced annual cycle with the maximal R(t) value near 8.0 for the winter Southern Hemisphere and summer Northern Hemisphere is typical of midlatitudes.  相似文献

The cumulative applied climate indices SAT and SET used in the Russian literature are considered in detail. These indices differ in calculation methods and, consequently, their values differ in different regions. The example is presented of the incorrect use of these indices by some authors for studying biological objects which leads to false conclusions. The method of calculation of the foreign applied climate index GDD is given. This index corresponds to the Russian index SET, and its interpretation as a counterpart of SAT is wrong.  相似文献

The state of the ionosphere affects the operational stability of satellite radio navigation systems. The dense network of GEONET GPS sites on the territory of Japan allows to conduct a thorough investigation of the stability of system operation at mid-latitudes in different heliogeophysical conditions. This paper considers deterioration in the accuracy of GPS system positioning due to the effect of a large-scale ionospheric disturbance (an ionospheric bubble) over Japan on February 12, 2000.  相似文献

Using GPS data of the Japanese network GEONET, we analyze occurrence of GPS-phase slips and positioning errors during the geomagnetic storm of February 12, 2000. Although the storm was not intensive, registering a minimum Dst excursion of −133 nT and a maximum Kp = 6.7 value, it attracted the attention of researchers because of the appearance of a super-bubble at mid-latitudes. We identified numerous GPS-phase slips in the area of the super-bubble. By the time of the bubble’s appearance, a total of 33% of GPS receivers experienced positioning errors of more than 500 m. Around 13:00 UT, the positioning quality was worse than 100 m almost all of Japan. We also found that the occurrence of phase slips of the satellite signals depends on the angle γ between the receiver-satellite line of sight and geomagnetic field lines. The maximum value of GPS-phase slips corresponds to γ = 0° and 90°. For the satellites positioned close to the magnetic zenith region, the density of phase slips reached 32%. In addition to carrier-phase slips, the super-bubble caused sharp increases in positioning errors of several hundred meters at receiver locations below 38°N latitude. As a result, precise positioning was not possible for about 2 h.  相似文献

The contemporary climatic habitat of the taiga tick, the dangerous carrier of tick-borne encephalitis and Lyme disease, is computed using the model. The expected climate changes will cause the reduction of the climatic habitat of Ixodes persulcatus in its western part and the expansion in the northern and eastern directions. By the late 21st century, this species can inhabit almost the whole north of the European part of Russia and the most part of Siberia up to 70° N. At the same time, I. persulcatus will disappear from Baltic countries, Belarus, the northern part of Ukraine, and the western areas of Russia. The RCP4.5 and RCP8.5 scenarios till 2040 suggest climate changes that will affect the location of climatic habitat approximately at the same scale. The differences will start being manifested in 2041–2060 and will become the most pronounced in the last 20 years of the 21st century. Expected climate changes will favor the significant expansion of the climatic habitat of the taiga tick in the 21st century and the potential formation of the zones of tick-borne encephalitis and Lyme disease in the regions, where these diseases are not currently observed.  相似文献
