Archival infrared Spitzer Space Telescope observations are used to study the dust component of the ISM in the irregular galaxy IC 10. The dust distribution in the galaxy is compared to the distributions of the Hα and [S II] emission, neutral gas and CO clouds, and ionizing radiation sources. The distribution of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) in the galaxy is shown to be highly non-uniform, with the fraction of these particles in total dust mass reaching 4%. On the whole, PAHs avoid bright H II regions and correlate with the atomic and molecular gas. This pattern suggests that they form in the dense interstellar gas. It is suggested that the observed metallicity dependence of the PAH abundance shows up not only globally (at the level of the entire galaxy), but also locally (at least, at the level of individual H II regions). No conclusive evidence for shock destruction of PAHs in the IC 10 galaxy has been found.  相似文献

Concentrations of dissolved methane in seawater and bottom sediments, as well as of methane emanating from gas seeps were measured at 18 stations including several small bays in the Sevastopol coastal area (Black Sea) during 2007–2008. Methane concentrations in surface waters ranged from 10 to 2,970 nmol l?1, and correlated well with values recorded for sediments. Methane concentrations in the water column were influenced by water depth, as well as by air and water temperatures. In the spring and summer of 2008, in situ CH4 saturation relative to air was in the range of 970–71,900%. Maximum saturation was in summer. CH4 fluxes to the atmosphere from the Sevastopol coastal area were estimated to vary from 190 to 1,550 μmol m?2 day?1. Gas bubbles escaping from the seepages contained about 57 vol% methane. Radiocarbon dating of the methane revealed an age not exceeding 150 years, implying a biogenic origin.  相似文献

Detailed lithological, biogeochemical and molecular biological analyses of core sediments collected in 2002–2006 from the vicinity of the Malenky mud volcano, Lake Baikal, reveal considerable spatial variations in pore water chemical composition, with total concentrations of dissolved salts varying from 0.1 to 1.8‰. Values of methane δ13С in the sediments suggest a biogenic origin (δ13Сmin. ?61.3‰, δ13Сmax. ?72.9‰). Rates of sulphate reduction varied from 0.001 to 0.7 nmol cm?3 day?1, of autotrophic methanogenesis from 0.01 to 2.98 nmol CH4 cm?3 day?1, and of anaerobic oxidation of methane from 0 to 12.3 nmol cm?3 day?1. These results indicate that methanogenic processes dominate in gas hydrate-bearing sediments of Lake Baikal. Based on clone libraries of 16S rRNA genes amplified with Bacteria- and Archaea-specific primers, investigation of microbial diversity in gas hydrate-bearing sediments revealed bacterial 16S rRNA clones classified as Deltaproteobacteria, Gammaproteobacteria, Chloroflexi and OP11. Archaeal clone sequences are related to the Crenarchaeota and Euryarchaeota. Baikal sequences of Archaea form a distinct cluster occupying an intermediate position between the marine groups ANME-2 and ANME-3 of anaerobic methanotrophs.  相似文献

Box and gravity cores recovered from the Håkon Mosby mud volcano (HMMV) during cruise 15 of the R/V Professor Logachev were analyzed for bacterial activity and benthic fauna distribution. The high bacterium number (up to 9.6×109 cells cm-3 of the sediment) and marked rates of sulfate reduction (up to 0.155?mg?S?dm-3?day-1) and methane oxidation (up to 9.9?μg?C?dm-3?day-1) were shown for the upper horizons of the sediments of the HMMV peripheral zone. The benthic community is characterized by the presence of two pogonophoran species, Oligobrachia sp. and Sclerolinum sp., harboring symbiotic methanotrophic bacteria.  相似文献

The results of analysis of the output parameters of small-sized seismic motion sensors based on molecular electronics are presented. These devices feature a molecular-electronic transducer with negative feedback the introduction of which makes it possible to improve the sensor performance (specifically, to broaden the frequency range, reduce the amplitude-frequency characteristic (AFC) unevenness, and reduce the nonlinear distortion factor (NDF) value). The operating principle of these devices is outlined. The basic characteristics such as AFC, NDF, and the inherent noise level are determined experimentally, and the methods of their determination are described. The obtained data are analyzed and compared to the data on similar foreign devices. Principal lines of further research aimed not only at improving the technical characteristics but also at establishing a serial production process are specified.  相似文献

The results of first application of automated bottom station for studying chemical exchange across the water-bed interface (IO RAS lander) were obtained for the case of sediments in the northwestern Black Sea near Gelendzhik (Golubaya Bay). The lander is equipped with bottom chambers, sensors of environmental characteristics, and samplers, allowing fluxes of chemical elements through the water-bed interface to be determined directly. Bottom sediments were represented by organogenous silts containing hydrogen sulfide. The high activity of diagenetic processes resulted in a higher consumption of O2 by sediments (the flux from the bottom water was 130 mM/(m2/day), high fluxes of biogenic elements (P, Si,) and metals (Mn, Fe). At the same time, fluxes across the water-bed interface were evaluated based on the difference between concentrations of these elements in the near-bed and silt water (Fick’s law). The obtained data demonstrate the priority of direct measurements of fluxes (lander) over the calculation method. The first application of the lander suggests the need for methodological improvements both of engineering character and in chemical-analytical support.  相似文献

Field variations in the region of eruptive event of June 7, 2011, associated with the filament eruption (FE), flare, and coronal mass ejection are studied based on vector measurements of the photospheric magnetic field with the SDO/HMI instrument. Variations of the module (B), the radial (Br) and transverse (Bt) components of the magnetic induction, and the inclination angle (α) of field lines to the radial direction from the center of the Sun are analyzed. It is shown that the strongest changes of the field before the event were located near the base of the southeastern leg of the eruptive filament; after the beginning of the event, they were located in the CME flare region. It is suggested that the FE is associated with two episodes of strong and rapid field variations: before the beginning of the slow filament rise and before its sudden acceleration. For the first time, variations of the inclination angles of the field lines over time in different parts of the eruptive event are studied in detail. It was found that the inclination angles of the field lines decrease in the vicinity of its channel during the slow rise of the filament, and the inclination angles of the field lines increase sharply after the beginning of the flare in the flare region in the vicinity of the neutral line.  相似文献

The structural position, geology, petrography, petrochemistry, and petrogenesis of one of the world's greatest carbonatite provinces situated in North Siberia are recorded. Three groups of Late Permian-Early Triassic magmatites are briefly discussed: effusives, dikes, and intrusives of complex central type. Carbonatite and congenetic rocks are related to kimberlites, but are genetically unrelated to tholeiitic basalts and trachybasalts.
