The ?eské st?edoho?í Mts. is the dominant volcanic center of the Oh?e (Eger) rift zone. It hosts the Roztoky Intrusive Complex (RIC), which is made up of a caldera vent and intrusions of 33–28-Ma-old hypabyssal bodies of essexite–monzodiorite–sodalite syenite series accompanied by a radially oriented 30–25-Ma-old dike swarm comprising about 1,000 dikes. The hypabyssal rocks are mildly alkaline mostly foid-bearing types of mafic to intermediate compositions. The dike swarm consists of chemically mildly alkaline and rare strongly alkaline rocks (tinguaites). The geochemical signatures of the mildly alkaline hypabyssal and associated dike rocks of the RIC are consistent with HIMU mantle sources and contributions from lithospheric mantle. The compositional variations of essexite and monzodiorite can be best explained by fractional crystallization of parent magma without significant contributions of crustal material. On the other hand, the composition of monzosyenite, leuco-monzodiorite and sodalite syenite reflects fractional crystallization coupled with variable degrees of crustal assimilation. It is suggested that the parent magmas in the Oh?e rift were produced by an adiabatic decompression melting of ambient upper mantle in response to lithospheric extension associated with the Alpine Orogeny.  相似文献

Summary The paper deals with the computation of spherical harmonic coefficients from surface measurements of the magnetic or gravity field of the Earth when the measurements are distributed regularly. The Fourier representation of associated Legendre functions which this procedure makes use of, then enables the harmonic analysis to be transformed to Fourier analysis which has better numerical properties.

Summary PKP-amplitudes of about 400 earthquakes from the SW Pacific Ocean observed at three stations in Central Europe were used to obtain the calibration function qPKP(D, h) based on the NEIS mb magnitudes. The calibration function allows us to determine the magnitudes for week earthquakes from the Pacific, for which the magnitudes from the P-waves cannot be derived.  相似文献

Summary A procedure of fast computation of body-wave ray synthetic seismograms in vertically inhomogeneous media is suggested. The procedure uses a special approximation of the velocitydepth distribution which guarantees continuity of the first and second derivatives of velocity and does not generate false low-velocity layers (oscillations in the velocity-depth function). The ZESY82 program package, which is based on the suggested procedure, is described. The point source with an arbitrary radiation pattern may be situated at any points of the model, the receivers are situated regularly or irregularly along any profile on the Earth's surface, containing the epicentre. Numerical examples of the synthetic record sections for a model of the Earth's crust and the uppermost mantle are given.

Summary This paper compares the A/T curve of the intermediate (BC) branch of the short period PKP waves recorded at Macedonian seismological stations from sources in the SW Pacific Ocean with the A/T curves from theoretical seismograms, calculated under the assumption that the BC branch for distances over about 151° is due to diffraction at the inner core boundary.  相似文献

Summary The theoretical medium period PV-magnitude calibrating curves were computed for the Earth model PREM and a wide range of focal depths. The calculated set of curves reflects the distribution of model parameters, the influence of source radiation was not taken into account. The widely used Gutenberg's empirical calibrating curves were compared with the theoretical ones. Pronounced deviations in the shape and differences in the level of isolines were found. Thus, if model PREM is considered to be representative of the Earth's structure, the empirical calibrating curves (D, h) for magnitude determination currently used in seismological practice, have to be verified.
