The distribution, structural relations and ages of ophiolites and ophiolitic melanges in the Eastern Deserts of Egypt and north-east Sudan, and their relation to arc and post-arc magmatism, are used to infer the probable positions of sutures and the directions of obduction and subduction. The ages of the successive tectonic stages in the terranes decrease northwards, by about 100 Ma in the region discussed. Obduction was north-westwards. The obducted sheets of ophiolite and ophiolitic melange, extending about 500 km north from the Onib-Sol Flamed suture, may all represent a single back-arc basin. The direction of subduction is still not clearly proved: more geochemical evidence of arc-magmatic polarity is needed. The late tectonic north-westward thrusting, the NW - SE stretching lineation, the transpressional north-south Hamisama Shear Zone and the NW-SE sinistral Najd faults are all attributed to north-westward movement (present coordinates) of terranes towards the older craton west of the Nile. The Najd faults are interpreted as intracontinental transform faults.  相似文献

在藏北尼玛县西边阿索一带首次发现最宽约14km的阿索构造混杂岩带。该带西宽东窄,呈喇叭状,由复理石岩片、深海硅质岩、泥质岩岩片、蛇纹质岩片、火山岛弧岩片、碳酸盐岩岩片、大陆碎片岩片等组成。其中以复理石岩片为基质包含其它外来构造岩片。阿索构造混杂岩带所包含的蛇绿岩主要岩性单位有:蛇纹岩、辉石岩、英云闪长岩、似层状花斑岩和辉长岩、粒玄岩、辉长辉绿岩、枕状玄武岩、角斑岩、硅质岩、含铁锰粉砂岩、薄层灰岩、浊积岩等,属弧后盆地扩张一消减产物。根据硅质岩中放射虫、复理石岩片中孢粉时代及构造片岩中同位素年龄等资料,该弧后盆地扩张于晚侏罗世、闭合于早白垩世早期。空间上将狮泉河、永珠湖一纳木湖蛇绿岩带相连。  相似文献

We give spatial patterns of distribution of the principal groups of lithologic associations (sedimentary and volcanogenicl and a quantitative estimate of their volumes and distribution for each of the three series of the Cambrian system on the present continents. Abstract The Molucca Sea is a narrow basin located south of Mindanao (Philippines) and underlined by a north-south ophiolitic ridge. This ridge represents the outer ridge of the Sangihe subduction zone and emerges by uplift in the central part of the basin, in the Talaud Islands. Field studies indicate that forearc sediments rest uncomformably on (i) a dismembered ophiolitic series and (ii) thick melanges. Structural analysis indicates two deformation events, one of which is oriented east-west coaxial with the present state of strain. We interpret the earlier (N20°E) direction as a thrusting event that affected an ophiolitic basement associated with the edge of the Celebes Sea. Thrusting within the oceanic crust and sediments also generated olistostromes (melanges). The style of deformation is characterized by flattened rhombs of peridotites which exists in situ in the upper section of the crustal sequence and were also found inside the melange. Incipient Sangihe subduction around 15 Ma uplifted the deformed crust and buried the melanges beneath the forearc sediments. Recent east-west shortening during subduction of the Snellius Plateau reactivated the melanges within thrusts cutting the forearc series.  相似文献

东昆仑中段是昆仑山地区基础研究的热点,区内地质构造复杂、地层类型多样。对构造混杂岩地层必须坚持活动论思想,采取以反序方法,有助于正确进行构造古地理的恢复。对成层有序的浅变质砂岩、板岩必须摒弃传统做法.即按一个岩系的自然成因单元结构进行。通过对东昆仑中段构造构混杂岩的万保沟岩群研究,获得了洋岛地层序列的新认识,识别了东昆仑中三叠世希里可特组的存在。对巴颜喀拉山群作了许多新研究,对中新世地层取得丁重大发现,提出了青藏高原隆升的具体时间和一系列特点。  相似文献
