冬给措纳湖位于青藏高原多年冻土区东北部,湖区高寒沼泽、冰缘环境、冻土分布及其演化在全球气候变暖条件下,有其自身特点.为探讨冬给措纳湖湖区冻土分布及冰缘环境,2009年5月9—26日,对冬给措纳湖进行了考察,发现冻融草丘、冻胀丘遗迹、寒冻裂缝、热融洼地、古冻融褶皱等现代冰缘及古冰缘现象在湖区普遍存在.湖东、西岸的沼泽湿地中,热喀斯特发育明显,形成热融洼地和冻融草丘.湖北岸阶地及草场中存在零星和岛状冻土,经钎探表明,当时融化深度为0.3~0.8m,0.4m深度处冻土有胶结冰发育.湖东冲积平原的沼泽湿地中,冻融草丘和热融洼地存在;冻胀丘遗迹、寒冻裂缝在沼泽湿地边缘泥炭覆盖地存在.湖北岸二级阶地剖面发现古冻融褶皱.  相似文献

Relict permafrost structures (ice-wedge casts and cryoturbation structures) are present in the Gobi of southern Mongolia. Luminescence dates of sediments are presented to constrain the age of formation of permafrost structures. These data show that there was a phase of permafrost development during the latter part of the Last Glacial (after about 22 to 15 ka) that resulted in cryoturbated sediments and ice-wedge casts. Furthermore, permafrost degradation occurred during late Pleistocene times (13–10 ka) and was absent during the early Holocene. These permafrost structures mark the southernmost evidence of permafrost in northern Asia during late Quaternary times and indicate that the mean annual air temperature was below approximately −6°C during their formation. © 1998 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

We explore developments in tephra science that consider more than chronology, using case studies of morphological transformations of tephra deposits. Volcanic processes and prevailing weather conditions determine the distribution of tephra deposits immediately after an eruption, but as these freshly fallen tephra become part of the stratigraphic record, the thickness, morphology and definition of the layers they form changes, reflecting the interplay of the tephra, climate, Earth surface processes, topography and vegetation structure, plus direct or indirect modification caused by people and animals. Once part of the stratigraphic record, there can be further diagnostic changes to the morphology of tephra layers, such as the creation of over folds by cryoturbation. Thus, tephra layers may contain proxy evidence of both past surface environments and subsurface processes. Transformations of tephra deposits can complicate the reconstruction of past volcanic processes and make the application of classical tephrochronology as pioneered by Thorarinsson (Sigurður Þórarinsson in Icelandic) challenging. However, as Thorarinsson also noted, novel sources of environmental data can exist within transformed tephra sequences that include the spread or removal of tephra, variations in layer thickness and internal structures, the nature of contact surfaces and the orientation of layers.  相似文献

西藏纳木错及邻区全新世气候与环境变化的地质记录   总被引:20,自引:1,他引:19  
综合分析了全新世期间内的多种与气候和环境变化密切相关的地质记录,结果表明该区全新世期间的气候变化可划分为3个阶段:1)约11.8~8.4kaBP期间,处于微温期和升温期,气候相对温和稍湿.2)8.4~4.0kaBP期间,为全新世气候最适宜时期或大暖期.该期间的平均气温可能比现今高约5℃,降水量比今多100~200mm.3)4.0kaBP以来,气候整体较为干冷.纳木错湖面发生持续下降,其最大下降幅度可达11.4m.冰川进退和湖面波动表明,该期间内的气候波动过程分别与新冰期和小冰期相对应,其中又各包含了3次明显的冷期,其中新冰期期间的最低年平均气温可达-6℃左右.约1970年以来,区域气候向暖湿方向转化,造成念青唐古拉山西布冰川后退约120~200m,纳木错湖面上涨了约2m.  相似文献

Alluvial fans in southern Monglia occur along a group of narrow discontinuous mountain ranges which formed as transpressional uplifts along a series of strike-slip faults. They provide information on the nature of neotectonic activity in the eastern Gobi Altai range and on palaeoclimate change. Alluvial fan formation was dominated by various geomorphological processes largely controlled by climatic changes related to an increase in aridity throughout late Quaternary times. Their sedimentology shows that initially they experienced humid conditions, when the sedimentary environments were dominated by perennial streams, followed by a period of increasing aridity, during which coarse fanglomerates were deposited in alluvial fans by ephemerial streams and active-layer structures were produced by permafrost within the alluvial fan sediments. With climatic amelioration during early Holocene times, the permafrost degraded and fan incision and entrenchment dominated. Sedimentation was then confined to the upper reaches of the fans, adjacent to steep mountain slopes, and within the entrenched channels. The alluvial fans have been neotectonically deformed, faulted and their surface warped by small thrust faults that propagate from the mountain fronts into their forelands. Localised uplift rates are in the order of 0.1 to 1 m Ka−1. © 1997 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献
