This paper is a brief explanation of the diagrams of the Cretaceous transgressions and regressions on the Russian Platform, in the Crimea (Figures 1–3) and some regions of central Asia—the western flanks of the Tien Shan mountains, the Fergana basin, the Zeravshan-Gissar and Alaj mountains, and the Northern Pamirs (Figures 5–7).Internationally recognized stages are employed. They are interpreted by Sasonova (1967) for the Lower Cretaceous (K1) of the Russian Platform, by Naidin (1977) for the Upper Cretaceous (K2) of the Platform and the Crimea, by Djalilov (1971) and Pojarkova (1976) for the Upper Cretaceous of central Asia. This paper examines migration in Russia during the period that preceded the breakup of the former Soviet Union (FSU) and during the current transition period. An unusually rich dataset is used to conceptualize the impact that the political and economic collapse of a world superpower has on a migration system. A regional case study of migration in Yaroslavl' Oblast from 1989 through 1992 is used to examine the relevance of expected outcomes given standard theories of migration, empirical regularities found in capitalist economies, and past trends in the FSU. The data clearly show a migration system undergoing political and economic shocks. A significant decline of the volume of flows and a relative increase in the importance of interrepublic movement indicate disruptions. Increased relative mobility for those in the later years of the working-age population and increased importance of urban-to-rural migration flows are also important changes evident in this migration system undergoing shock. 相似文献

The assimilation of Siberia's northeast frontier has been a subliminal goal of Soviet planners since the 1930s, but economic problems, including inaccessibility, have thwarted their aim at almost every turn. The completion of the Baykal-Amur Mainline (BAM) and the renewed planning and construction of the Amur-Yakutsk Mainline (AYAM) at first promised to inspire new regional development efforts. The new policies of the Gorbachev administration appear to have altered the course, at least temporarily. This article analyzes these developments and relationships. 相似文献
