春季北方气旋活动的气候特征及与气温和降水的关系   总被引:9,自引:1,他引:9  
利用1948-2002年NCEP/NCAR再分析逐日海平面气压资料以及中国160站的降水和气温资料,分析了春季北方气旋活动频数和强度的时空变化特征,以及两者与中国降水和气温的相关关系。结果表明:春季北方气旋活动频繁,存在明显的两个高值中心,分别位于蒙古国的中部和我国东北北部地区。春季北方气旋活动频数和强度均存在明显的年际和年代际变化。伴随着一次全球性的年代际气候跃变,20世纪70年代中后期无论是频数还是强度均出现了显著的突变。春季北方气旋活动频数主要对我国北方地区的降水和气温有一定影响,活动频数多(少)年,我国华北大部、新疆北部降水偏少(多);北疆地区气温回升(下降),甘、宁、陕、内部分地区偏冷(暖)。80-90年代春季北方气旋活动频数的偏少,强度的减弱,导致我国北方地区沙尘暴次数比70年代减少.  相似文献

Coral islands formed of largely unconsolidated sands only a few metres above sea level are thought to be particularly vulnerable to sea-level rise consequent upon global warming. However, scenarios which predict catastrophic flooding and loss of island area need reassessment, particularly in the light of the continued downwards revision of projected rates of future sea-level rise. Revised questions concern the interactions between reef growth and sea-level change, biophysical constraints on coral growth, and the importance to reef systems of potential changes in the magnitude, frequency and location of tropical cyclones and hurricanes. It is clear that most reefs have the growth potential to meet even the highest of future sea-level rise scenarios, but too little is known about physiological and physical constraints to reef growth to adequately evaluate the importance of these two factors in constraining this potential at the present time. Future sea-level rise in the tropical oceans, and coral reef responses, will take place against a backdrop of inter-regional differences in Holocene sea levels, resulting from the varying interaction of eustatic and hydro-isostatic processes. These differences have generated varying constraints on the development of modern reefs and varying inherited topographies upon which future sea-level changes will be superimposed. These controls are particularly important in assessing differences in vulnerability to future sea-level rise for reef islands in the Pacific Ocean and the Caribbean Sea.  相似文献

Coral reefs throughout the world are under severe challenges from many environmental factors. This paper quantifies the size structure of populations and the growth rates of corals from 2000 to 2008 to test whether the Discovery Bay coral colonies showed resilience in the face of multiple acute stressors of hurricanes and bleaching. There was a reduction in numbers of colonies in the smallest size class for all the species at all the sites in 2006, after the mass bleaching of 2005, with subsequent increases for all species at all sites in 2007 and 2008. Radial growth rates (mm yr−1) of non-branching corals and linear extension rates (mm yr−1) of branching corals calculated on an annual basis from 2000–2008 showed few significant differences either spatially or temporally. At Dairy Bull reef, live coral cover increased from 13 ± 5% in 2006 to 20 ± 9% in 2007 and 31 ± 7% in 2008, while live Acropora species increased from 2 ± 2% in 2006 to 10 ± 4% in 2007 and 22 ± 7% in 2008. These studies indicate good levels of coral resilience on the fringing reefs around Discovery Bay in Jamaica.  相似文献

使用FY卫星TBB资料和新一代非静力中尺度模式WRF分析南海强台风Chanchu(0601)"急翘"转向前后内核结构和强度变化过程。结果表明:转向后内核结构非对称特征明显。WRF数值模式较好地模拟出Chanchu强度和异常路径变化过程,再现了内核结构演变:转向前,垂直切变较弱,有利于快速加强,内核结构较为对称;转向后,垂直切变明显增大,强回波位于垂直切变下风方向的左侧,显示为内核非对称结构。使用傅立叶变换方法分解模拟结果中的雷达回波,发现眼壁和内螺旋雨带的2波非对称沿方位角移速与涡旋罗斯贝波(VRWs)的理论波速一致,Chanchu快速加强过程中断和强度维持的可能原因为:眼壁传播的VRWs受到外螺旋雨带的扰动以及涡旋倾斜加剧引起眼壁非对称性加强导致"急翘"时眼壁破裂,此后眼区和眼壁区水平混合过程加强,850 hPa眼区相当位温明显增加,抑制高层相对暖干空气和低层相对冷湿空气相互交换,使得随眼壁内侧下沉气流向下输送的暖干空气减少,低层增温作用减弱,快速加强过程中断;VRWs径向内传导致高值涡度由眼壁内侧向眼心传播,引起最大风速半径(RMW)内侧切向风速增大,RMW随时间向眼心延伸,眼壁进一步收缩,一定程度上抵消了垂直切变加大的负面影响,Chanchu维持强度。  相似文献

利用1957—1990年的地面天气图资料统计了北方气旋活动频次,分析了北方气旋的若干气候统计特征及其与西北地区天气气候的对应关系.结果表明,北方气旋发生频次在20世纪50年代末呈上升趋势,60—70年代处在下降通道中,尤其是冬季和秋季下降最为明显.春季北方气旋活动频次增加时,当年西北地区夏季降水明显偏少;北方气旋频次的减少是我国沙尘天气减少的重要原因之一.  相似文献

The formation of cyclones over the sea surface is driven by air-sea interaction with feedbacks on wave generation, thermohaline structures, and biochemical properties of upper-ocean layers. In the Mediterranean basin, strong cyclonic systems having tropical-like characteristics are called “medicanes”. The consequences of such events are usually assessed over the land, however, hydrographic effects are particularly difficult to be quantified mostly due to the rarity of oceanographic in-situ monitoring systems. In this study, the hydrographic effects of a high-impact medicane, crossing the central-eastern Mediterranean in late September 2018 are investigated mainly based on Argo float measurements. We traced its hydrographic fingerprint and examined its effects on the upper-layer physical properties by analyzing temperature and salinity profiles from floats that overlapped with its track. Float data is supported by satellite sea surface temperature reanalysis data and meteorological records. The synergistic effects of intense evaporation and vertical mixing mechanisms triggered by the medicane, resulted in abrupt surface cooling, especially in the Ionian and Aegean Seas. A relatively homogenous decrease of temperature in the upper 50-m-depth layer followed, along with the deepening of the mixed-layer depth, corresponding to an estimated per profile average deficit of (-2.72 ± 1.23) x 108 J m−2 in the ocean heat content. Simultaneously, significant upper-layer freshening occurred because of vertical mixing and heavy rainfall. However, a salinity increase in the subsurface waters was observed after the medicane event, which is associated with both horizontal advection and vertical mixing which followed the weakening of the Atlantic Water signal and the dominance of the Levantine Surface Water in this zone. Our findings highlight strong, short-scale hydrographic alterations made available due to the expansion of the marginal seas operational oceanographic network.  相似文献

利用中央气象台的历史天气图资料对近49 a江淮气旋的发生路径、源地、年发生频数、强度进行统计分析.结果表明:江淮气旋发生频数的年际变化呈下降趋势,生成的强度呈上升趋势;通过小波分析发现江淮气旋的频数有明显的年际、年代际变化周期;以及有显著的月、季变化特征,春季及其每年的4月是江淮气旋出现最为活跃的季节和月份;受地形、下垫面等因素的影响,江淮气旋出现的源地主要集中在大别山及其东北侧、淮河上游及苏皖浙交界处、鄱阳湖这3个区域;江淮气旋的平均路径主要有3条:西北东移、偏南东移和偏北东移,且江淮气旋的移动路径有明显的季节性变化.  相似文献

本文根据西北太平洋近106年(1899~2004年)热带气旋系列资料,分析了热带气旋年频数多年变化的统计特征.结果表明:西北太平洋台风频数既存在明显的短周期的年际变化也存在明显长周期的年代际变化,是一种短周期与长周期相互作用的多时间尺度的变化.年际变化与ENSO有明显关系,ENSO事件的当年9月到次年8月冷事件年相对与暖事件年会有更多的台风生成和登陆.在年代际尺度上,106年的台风活动可以分为几个明显的活跃期和不活跃期,这种年代际的变化可能与海气耦合的经向模态调制有关系.  相似文献

Reunion Island is characterized by rapid landscape evolution resulting from its cyclonic tropical climate. However, local active surface processes are not well understood. The relationships between climatic events, large scale landslides and torrential transport of sediment by the rivers remain unclear. The Remparts River is an appropriate area for studying such geomorphological processes, as it deeply incises the active Piton de la Fournaise volcano. In this study, different approaches are used to analyze the morphological evolution of the river from the sediment production areas to the outlet over the last 40 years. Recurrent events of huge mass wasting occur at Mahavel Cliff, upstream of one of the river tributaries, the most recent producing around 50×106 m3 of sediment in 1965. Combined analyses of the sequence of cyclonic events, major mass wasting events and aerial photography interpretation over the last 40 years led to the proposal of a functional model of river system responses to these events. The river system can be divided into three compartments, each affected by three classes of geomorphological events. The sedimentary response (erosion and/or aggradation) of each compartment to a triggering event, such as cyclonic rainfall and/or seasonal rise of water discharge, is controlled both by the magnitude of the climatic event and by the state of the compartment resulting from previous evolution. A set of five aerial photographs and a satellite image showing the evolution of the studied area during the last 40 years are examined in detail in the light of the functional model. Observations confirm a rapid and complex evolution of the river bed (erosion and aggradation), and provide information about the dynamics of the sediment transfer from the production areas to the ocean. Analysis of two distinct topographic datasets bracketing the last major cyclone Dina in 2002 allows the estimation of the river sediment budget resulting from this event. The net volume of aggraded sediments in the river bed is estimated at around 8×106 m3.With no major collapse event recorded at Mahavel Cliff, sediment transfer due to the flood associated with the 3-day cyclone Dina event is responsible for this significant increase in river bed sediment volume. This quantification shows that several million cubic meters of sediment may take only a few years to spread over more than 5 km downstream. The river bed has now reached its highest elevation since the 1965 landslide, with potential consequences for natural hazards in the area of the outlet at the city of Saint-Joseph.  相似文献
