摘    要:晚二叠世晚期,华蓥山地区位于川东、鄂西碳酸盐岩台地上.二叠—三叠系接触关系是华南常见类型之一.生物群集绝灭不是正发生在界线上,而是在界线之下数十厘米处,δ(?)C最大负值和δ(?)O最大变化都发生在这个层位上,我们称它为“重要的生物绝灭(消失)线”.二叠—三叠纪之交生物大绝灭的原因,我们认为主要是环境的变化和生物的不适应性.工作区未发现地外星体撞击事件的记录.

Abstract:During the late Late Permian, the Huayingshan area lay in the carbon-ate platform of E. Sichuan-W. Hubei. The Permo-Triassic contact there is one of the contact types known commonly in South China. The mass extinction did not occurjust at the commonly recognized Permo-Triassic boundary, but in a bed several decimeters beneath the boundary. The maximum negative value ofcarbon isotope δ13C and the maximum variation of oxygen isotope δ18O occur in this bed. The most obvious changes in the ratio of Sr/Ba andcontent of other elements do not occur just at the Permo-Triassic boundary. Several decimeters below the boundary, there is a stratigraphic horizonthat we may call the "important extinctionline", because a great number of Permian biotic genera and species did not extend over it. As to the causes of the Permo-Triassic extinctions, our opinions are as follows: (l) the basic cause for the extinction was environmental change and inadaptability of the organisms, and it is noteworthy that some organisms had declined for a long time before the extinction; (2) there were volcanic acti-vities in South China during the Late Permian, but what relationship these activities had to the extinction needs further detailed study; (3) extrater-restrial impact events do not seem to be a basic cause for the extinction in the area studied.
