Abstract: | Results are presented of studying quantitative regularities of utilizing aromatic amines (benzidine, α- naphthylamine) by Chara algae (Nitella spec., Charafragilis) and higher aquatic plants (Elodea canadensis). It is shown that the basic part of eliminated benzidine is subjected to oxidative conversions under the action of macrophyte enzyme systems. Not more than 20% of eliminated benzidine accumulate in vegetative tissues. |
