Abstract:We present the results of numerical prognostic experiments performed with a resolution of 1.64 km in the horizontal coordinates. Unlike the calculations performed with coarser resolution, we reveal the following dynamic specific features: The Rim Current is traced down to 400 m as a continuous jet directed along the continental slope. Mesoscale anticyclonic eddies are regularly formed along the east part of the Anatolian coast and affect the formation of the Batumi anticyclone. The Sevastopol, Sinop, Kizilirmak, and Caucasian anticyclonic eddies are quasiperiodic. A region of cyclonic rotation of waters is formed between the newly formed Sevastopol anticyclone and the previous eddy.
