| 摘 要： | 建设珠江三角洲经济区是再造广东新优势的龙头，珠江三角洲西部地区建设是它的突破口。文中对珠江三角洲东，西部增长极进行比较，针对存在问题，调整增长极的发展轴，重点培养珠海，澳门，中山，江会４个增长极，构造西江一崖门经济走廓和广珠澳铁路沿线工业，商贸带两条发展轴，并建立高新技术产业带，优化空间经济布局，促进珠江三角洲西部地区持续发展，从而增强珠三角和广东经济发展后劲，振兴珠江流域经济。

| Abstract: | The western region of the PRD consists of Gunangzhou City (the urban district and Panyu), Jian Menicipality (the urban district, Xinhui, Kaiping, Enping and Heshan), Foshan Municipality (the urban district Gaoming, Nanhai, Sanshui and Shunde), Zhaoqing Municipality (the urban district, Gaoyao and Sihui), Zhuhai Municipality (the urban district and Doumen), and Zhongshan Muniacipality, covering an area of 23 384 km2 with a popthation of 15 180000 by the end of 1996. it is also relaed to Macao (an area of 20 km2, and a population of 420 000 by the end of 1995).Since reform and opening to the outside world, the economy of the PRD develops in a high speed. It not only keeps advanced in Guangdong Plovince, but also attracts worldwide attention. Building the Pearl River Economic Zone is the tap of creating new superiority for Guongdong economy, and developing the western region of the PRD is its first step. According to the theory of sutainable development, the growth points of the western region are compared with those of the eastern region in the PRD. In older to promote the economy of Guangdong, some suggestions are put forward: 1) to adjust the growth points and development axles of the western region of the PRD; 2) to cultivate four key growth points: Zhuhai, Macao, Zhongshan and Jiangemn -Xinhui; 3) to build two development axles, Xijiang River-Yamen economic passage and Guangzhou-Zhuhai - Macao economic belt along railway; 4) to set up high and new technology belt; 5) to improve the spatial econmic allocation. |
