Abstract: | Nanchang City is located in subtropical region. In order to better monitor and warn against lightning weather and remind people to reduce the occurrence of lightning events, we use the historical lightning event data in Nanchang City, Jiangxi radar puzzle data, as well as Nanchang and Jiujiang SA radar base data in analyzing the characteristics of lightning events in Nanchang City by means of principles and methods of meteorology and radar meteorology. The results show that: (1)From 2013 to 2022, there were a total of 23 lightning strikes. There were two periods of high lightning occurrence for isolated cell echoes, and only one period of high lightning occurrence for supercell, squall line and short band echoes. (2)The overlap of 500 hPa high-altitude trough, middle-level shear line and southwest jet stream and other weather systems is most likely to generate lightning strikes. (3) The squall line echo band is a strip echo composed of multiple convective cells, strong echo cells, and even super cell echoes arranged in a row. The length of the short-band echo is shorter than that of the squall line echo, and the echo intensity is also weaker. The contour plane shows that the echo intensity of CAPPI at the 3,000 m altitude reaches 50-55 dBz, and the wind field has rotatability. The radial velocity field is a positive and negative velocity pair. These findings could provide an analytical basis for the monitoring and warning of lightning weather in Nanchang City. |
