低纬哨声的路径纬度和临界截止纬度

摘    要:本文采用国际地磁参考场(1980 IGRF,n=8)低纬磁力线经验公式和模式电离层,结合海南岛三亚(18.24°N,109.5°E;磁纬7.04°N)观测到的哨声资料,对磁纬10°N以下哨声的路径纬度和临界截止纬度进行了分析和讨论.

Abstract:The path latitude and critical low-latitude cut-off for low-latitude whistlers ob-served on the ground (in magnetic latitude ≤10°N) are studied in terms of the 1980 IGEF (n=8) and the model ionosphere. An empirical formula for magnetic field linesof IGRF and an analytic expression of the equivalent path length of whistler propaga-tion are presented. On the basis of this, an analysis of the data of whistlers observedat Sanya (18.24°N, 109.5°E; magnetic latitude 7.04°N) in Hainan of China is made. Themajor results are as follows: (1) Of the whistlers observed at Sanya, there are at least78% coming from the south of zenith of Sanya, whereas 86-96% of the ducted whist-lers with low cut-off frequency ≤ 1.3 kHz have their path latitude in between 7.5°-9.4°N (IGRF). (2) The critical low-latitude cut-off for whistlers must be less than7.0°N (IGRF), but greater than or equal to 5.04°N (IGRF). At geographic longitude109.5°E in the northern hemisphere, the values of 7.0° (IGRF) and 5.04° (IGRF) areequivalent to magnetic latitude 4.4°N and 2..44°N iin terms of the above altitude respec-tively.
