Primary Productivity in Relation to the Abiotic Factors in a Temporary Freshwater Pond |

| Abstract: | The primary production in the small pond (3.5 m long, 1.5 m wide, 1.5 m deep) was measured in winter from November to April by means of the bright-dark-flask method at an exposure for 24 hours. The following results were obtained: gross production 0.9 … 11 g C/m3d, net production 0.8 … 7 g C/m3d, respiration 0.5 … 5.6 g C/m3d, P/R quotient 19.6 … 0.18. The results are discussed in connection with chemical and hydrographie parameters as well as with the hydrological situation. |
