Abstract:Analysis on the data of water diversion at hyperconcentration in canals ofLuohuiqu,Weihuiqu and other irrigation systems reveals that the behaviour of sedimenttransport of the flow is in accord with the non--equilibrium sediment transport.Based upon this,a mathematical model is established for the case of diverting water at heavy sediment concentration associated with significant variation of grain sizes.Verification showsthat the computed results are quite in accordance with the observed data.
