Abstract:JinChangyu Gold Mine is one of largest gold deposits at the northern margin of North China Plate and occurs in the late Archean greenstone fold belt. There are two ore types, namely, gold-bearing albite vein type and gold-bearing quartz vein type. Studies show that the formation of Jinchangyu anticlinorium and related NNE trending extruded schistosity zone in the two-stage regional folding is the main ore-controlling structure of JinChangyu Gold Mine. In the course of schistosity and alteration, Fe2O3, CaO and MgO were clearly brought out from amphibolite in surrounding rocks, albite vein and quartz vein, both of whose width, gold grade, occurrence and material source are basically the same, penetrated along the surface of extruded schistosity. They are the products of the same mineralization in different mineralization stages. Characteristics of rare earth elements, sulfur and lead isotopes show that the the mineralization was related to deep magma activation and the strata were remelted in the magma to a part of mineralized materials. Therefore, this paper argues that Jinchangyu Gold Mine is a magmatic and thermal-fluid-type deposit whose mineralized materials were collectively provided by remelting of the mantle, lower crust and part of surrounding rocks, in other words, Archaeozoic greenstone belt.
