| Abstract: | We describe a method for simultaneous determination of the metallicity and interstellar reddening of globular clusters that
uses parameters of the giant branch on the V vs. (B-R) color-magnitude diagram: the slope of the giant branch, its color at the level of the horizontal branch, and the apparent
magnitude V of the horizontal branch. Applying this method to the globular cluster NGC 7006 gives the metallicity Fe/H] = −1.78 ± 0.11
and interstellar reddening E

= 0.25 ± 0.02. |
