| Abstract: | In this paper snow and ice are identified with two criteria: one is NDSI (normalized difference snow index) and the other is the reflectance of a near infrared channel. Then the results of ice detection on Yellow River are described, and its shortages and achievements are analyzed. The results show that MODIS is efficient in ice and snow detection. |
